Hello,

Is there a sister site to Rational Wiki, an Irrational Wiki?

Is Wikipedia regarded by this Wiki’s creator/s as irrational? As tainted by conspiracy theories and theorists?

Was that the reason, or part of the reason, for creating this Wiki?

Whatever the reason my thanks to this sites creators and maintainers.

Jasper

If you mean like a joke, then (though not really a sister site) there's Illogicopedia (kind of a more silly and random Uncyclopedia that doesn't try as hard to be funny). If you mean like a serious counterpoint, well, there's the old fundie opposition, Conservapedia, which sparked the creation of RationalWiki.
Wikipedia is usually pretty good at handling conspiracy theories and such, and they have a dedicated group of editors for it too (Guerrilla Skepticism on Wikipedia). But they have fairly strict rules about notability and a ban on original research, both of which prevent covering many fringe things, particularly online stuff that hasn't been covered by news media. If it's famous, Wikipedia may cover it better as they've got more editors at work (for example David Icke, but sometimes RW has more) but if it's really obscure RationalWiki may fill a void. --ApooftGnegiol (talk) 23:26, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
