Hello, JosPinkfoot, and welcome to the international house of vestibules! Thank you for joining us! I hope you enjoy your time here. Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 03:52, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
And hello to you, RA. Right now, I have no hope of contributing to this, or any other, Wiki, since I cannot find a help article aimed at the new-born. I have found nothing explaining why "welcome" in double braces should produce a boiler-plate welcome box, or "noun" in double braces should produce a random vestibule. Is there some place with a short summary of the available syntax? And what four twiddles tildes mean? JosPinkfoot (talk) 04:58, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
- Help:Contents should be of help, and if it's not, I'd be more than happy to walk you through the basics.

Well, gosh. I wasn't expecting such a quick reply, and thank you. I don't want to trespass on your time, and it's probably best if I keep working through Help:Contents. (I'm about a tenth of the way there so far.) But if you could point me to a single page listing available constructs, that would make me happy (even if it's in Backus-Naur form). - Wikipedia have a short list of the basic markup constructs, as well as a longer list of the more complex things and a quick guide to the table syntax. Time educated Hoover! 09:00, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
