Hey![edit]
A libel lawyer just called me. She said something about us saying that an actual person was about to commit mass murder, and how they might not like us saying it about them. syPhyliss[edit]
That's HILARIOUS!!!! Because "Phyllis" sounds kind of like "syphilis," you put them together like that so that people will think of STIs when you're actually talking about a woman in her nineties! SO CLEVER!!! If I knew the way/I would take you home. 22:09, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

Blood Meridian[edit]
Just finished it for the third time, perhaps a rival to Moby Dick? Anyway since I know you're a fan I wanted to ask you if you've given any thought to a part of the book that I found particularly mystifying. At the end of the novel when the kid, now the man, encounters the Judge, presumably for the last time, the Judge says something along the lines of, "Did you think that by not speaking I would not recognize who you were?" in I assume in reference to the kid's taciturn behavior throughout most of their interaction in the earlier parts of the novel. I know they're gnostic interpretations which paint the Judge as some kind of archon and the kid as a pneuma, but I wonder if this is what this line is referring to. The other thing I'm wondering about is the Judge's turn on the kid after the Yuma massacre the Glanton Gang. All of a sudden the Judge is out to kill the kid and later, when the meet in Texas at the end the Judge claims that he was angered by the kids "sympathy for the savage" or something along those lines. The thing is, I don't recall a single moment where the kid shows any sympathy whatsoever, in fact this seems to be the biggest problem with the gnostic interpretations -- the kid just seems to be along for the ride, I don't see anything which sets him apart from Toadvine or Brown or any other member of the gang. Any thoughts? --Marlow (talk) 21:59, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
