I don't think it's a joke... As amazing as that is...-αmεσ (heckuva job!) 07:52, 21 September 2007 (EDT)

I have been scared to make any edits at all, as it seems everyone who does is almost instantly blocked. I saw this place mentioned in an edit made by DanH, that disappeared, and checked it out. Seems you have some positive goals, and have some fun, so I decided what the hell, sign up. Pointers about how to survive and still make some sense there would be appreciated! NightTrainṢρёаќǃ 16:58, 21 September 2007 (EDT)
Ah, new blood! Welcome to RW!
And pfffft, yeah. Surviving and making sense are pretty much mutually exclusive on CP. Either you live or you induce sense. Although there seems to be a VERY narrow path that allows both goals to be true; however, following it is as hard as breakdancing in a minefield. --Sid 18:36, 21 September 2007 (EDT)
Any thoughts on just what I could edit? What to stay away from? There has to be a way to sneak facts in! They give no warning on the main page about it being a Young Earth site, but that's pretty apparent when reading the science articles. And it is almost like they have the admins wired to current, as fast as they swoop in. Another guy I saw posting just came here too, and all he did was ask a question and this admin was all over him. Jeeze.... NightTrainṢρёаќǃ 18:41, 21 September 2007 (EDT)

What're your interests? There's so much. I see you're a moderate; maybe create some more moderate political themed topics, write an essay on being a moderate in a polarized nation (are you American?) etc etc.?-αmεσ (heckuva job!) 19:03, 21 September 2007 (EDT)

Yes, I'm American...you? I am from California, at college now, International Relations/Government Admin field. So into current events, all things government, yadda, yadda. Those areas seem like they will be pretty hard to do much at CP. I assume I was right in not using my CP name here, judging from what I have been reading. NightTrainṢρёаќǃ 19:18, 21 September 2007 (EDT)
Well, CP usually moves slowly enough for at least three active sysops to have time to x-ray edits. The problem is that it's hard to identify articles that can be safely edited, especially since editing an article sometimes causes sysops to swoop in and take over (like Conservative suddenly took sole control of cp:Atheism after a phase of free-for-all editing).
General categories that are Bad Ideas:
  • Geology and things related to the age of the Earth (YEC)
  • Anything the Bible thinks is bad (liberals, public schools, morals, etc)
  • Anything that has an origin that might hint at evolution (YEC, anti-evo)
  • People (might be communists, liberals, liberals posing as conservatives, or may have voiced support of evolution)
  • Media sources (they're either evil leftists or good and "completely neutral")
  • Anything about astronomy or any other science that might (directly or indirectly) contradict The Word Of God
So that leaves you with... uh... math (although Ed might cripple articles there with his "Too complicated!" reasoning), economics (although Andy is bound to "improve" articles there), and other things that are too universal or neutral for any sysop to trigger the kill reflexes. --Sid 19:13, 21 September 2007 (EDT)

Great! That leaves exactly nothing, hahaha! I think I am going to stay quiet there for another day or two, maybe do something non-controversial, like add some userboxes, decorate.....praise is a good thing, so maybe it won't be taken as subversive if I spread a compliment or two around? For manuvering around, getting the lay of the land, I figure I should be reading the CP section here? I had to leave there just now, was reading some of the articles you (Sid) mentioned. He teaches? Kids? Little kids? That's whacked! NightTrain♦Τάļќ ǃ 19:33, 21 September 2007 (EDT)

My series of articles on the building trades never seemed to get me in hot water. Of course, my membership here got me blunt-knived back in May. I even got away with writing that JC was a notable carpenter. At least, I think I did. I also had fun writing about classical music. Goatspeed! humanbe in 19:39, 21 September 2007 (EDT)
Thanks for the tip, Human. I guess that's the way to go. I'll compliment, do some wiki mark-ups, correct spelling, and watch the show....but I know it will only be a matter of time before I get the urge to sucker punch someone. There a more than a few there that need a major attitude adjustment. I just might make it all into a game and see what I can insert without being noticed. LMAO! Aside from the obvious pricks, any suggestions, anyone, on the admins one can ask questions of? Or should I only ask here? --NightTrain♦Τάļќ ǃ 19:46, 21 September 2007 (EDT)
No, ask no questions of sysops over there, it'll likely cause conflusion and a disagreement over the correct answer, which YOU will be blamed for.
On the other hand do not "hide" from them either. Answer their questions like you would if'n a state cop pulled you over while you were holding and you just want your ticket and get going, "yes, sir, no sir." No disrespect, no sarcasm.
Do not call attention to yourself in any way except as a fine editor, feel free to create articles. Bible articles are a good place to begin because A) despite being a "Christian friendly wiki" their Biblical books are woefully inept and B) it's easy, go to the Catholic Bible, which itself is public domain, and copy but do not paste, edit it WAY down first, hack it to pieces, lose anything that mentions "Church Fathers" and the like. Mix it up a bit replace sections with sections from below but try to keep the flow.
A good Bible article gives you two things, recognition as a decent editor and they automatically think you're a Christian.
Limit talk page comments to thank yous and "good work!"s
I hope you don't have a goofy looking sig like the one you got here. Go for vanilla, low key.
CЯacke® 20:17, 21 September 2007 (EDT)
Well, that is specific, clear and good advice, Cracker. Anyway, I get your drift. I don't want to post more here, as I keep reading the sysop goons watch this place like a hawk. Fuck you CP Admins, if you are! I am going to the wanted pages and choosing benign articles. I put out some feelers to those who seem cool, and perhaps they will IM me or email some good advice. Thanks for making me feel welcome, all of you....the only welcome I have gotten at CP is from the biggest of the dicks there. I can really see why I am reading what I am here about the place...it is truly amazing, as AmesG first said above. If you have anything I can do here, spelling, adding wiki links, whatever, just let me know. --NightTrain♦Τάļќ ǃ 21:44, 21 September 2007 (EDT)

MOR[edit]

It's good, we could some more political, uh, "balance" here, since we are mostly a nest of flaming liberals (that dang CP filter created our user base, go figure). One thing you can do for us is help stem the tide of right-wing bashing (when undeserved) by keeping an eye out for us. I try to maintain balance, but it's hard to do a really good job of snarking against the people one agrees (mostly) with. Oh, and I forgot to welcome you above. Welcome to the Dollhouse! humanbe in 23:04, 21 September 2007 (EDT)

I'm telling you, you need some kind of self-administered test here! I thought I was MOR or even leaning right, but after a couple of days at CP, and here, I am feeling like someone put something in my drink! What is this diagram about political orientation I am seeing here on peoples pages?-- --NightTrain♦Τάļќ ǃ 23:25, 21 September 2007 (EDT)
The Political Compass™ Susantalk to me 01:54, 22 September 2007 (EDT)
Thank you very much, SusanG. Now if I can just figure out how to post the results, which I have some trepidation about, I will be all set. ----NightTrain♦Τάļќ ǃ 02:16, 22 September 2007 (EDT)
Don't feel like you have to, at all. What some of us did is "grabbed" the screenshot and added ourselves in. Just be you, be comfortable here (I hope), you are one of the mob, eh? humanbe in 02:18, 22 September 2007 (EDT)
You can also use {{User political compass|X|Y}} with x and y being replaced with their respective values. Locke User is Vandal/sysop Always Watching...... 02:24, 22 September 2007 (EDT)

How accurate is that test? I knew my ideas had changed some, but no wonder they seem so weird over there to me! Thanks Pinto for the hand with the template, much appreciated. -- --NightTrain♦Τάļќ ǃ 02:34, 22 September 2007 (EDT)

Signature[edit]

Don't know if someone's beaten me to this but I'm enjoying the signature as a deliberate parody of TK, that Mephistopheles of Conservapedia.-αmεσ (heckuva job!) 23:11, 21 September 2007 (EDT)

WOOT!! Is it too close? :O I changed it some, not wanting to wake in the middle of the night with stigmata!----NightTrain♦Τάļќ ǃ 23:26, 21 September 2007 (EDT)

Close enough that it sends the message, which is awesome. -αmεσ (heckuva job!) 23:30, 21 September 2007 (EDT)

Well check out my edits over there, and let me know if there is something I can do in the message department, or any other for that matter...you seem to be experienced. ----NightTrain♦Τάļќ ǃ 23:42, 21 September 2007 (EDT)

Who are you "over there"? I thought you were keeping it secret so you don't get banzorred (which I STRONGLY recommend).-αmεσ (heckuva job!) 23:50, 21 September 2007 (EDT)

My contact info is on my user page. Something tells me I will know it is you if you use it. And I have enabled email here. --NightTrain♦Τάļќ ǃ 00:06, 22 September 2007 (EDT)
NT you might like to check your sig as there is a spelling mistake in the font - you have Airal! Genghis Khant 02:54, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
O ----NightTrain♦Τάļќ ǃ 03:34, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
Curious, so I fixed one. humanbe in 03:56, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
Thanks Genghis and Human...doesn't appear to make any difference at all, but I m all fer goode spelliing! --NightTrain♦Τάļќ ǃ 04:19, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
On one of my systems it was previously in TimesNewRoman but now shows as Arial. It all depends on your default browser settings if Arial was a deafult font then you wouldn't notice the difference. By the way I noticed your use of the word "dumbass" - we had a vandal wipe the front page several days ago and call us dumbass. It wasn't you trying to wake up our defences by any chance was it? Genghis Khant 04:29, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

The only "site" I have ever vandalized is CP, and that is pretty much never noticed, because its more like parody than actual damage. Dubass is a pretty common expression, used here even! If I actually had the tech skillz I might try it more places....but I am lucky enough to be able to replace a hard drive and download files...much beyond that, I am pretty stoopid. I do fantasize of having the mad skill of an Icewedge, however! :-( ----NightTrain♦Τάļќ ǃ 04:35, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

Well wandalism here is no big deal, it just gets reverted. And if it's humorous then we actually enjoy the joke if even it is on us. However, we won't be an ad hoarding for spam. Genghis Khant 04:45, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

Oh...so cancel the writing to the viagra bot people? --NightTrain♦Τάļќ ǃ 04:54, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

That depends... humanbe in 17:05, 29 September 2007 (EDT)
Are you hoarding free samples? :O ----ИїģḥŤ¤Ṭŗáìṇ ♦Τάļќ ǃ 17:37, 29 September 2007 (EDT)

Please fix[edit]

Whilst editing WIGO you linked to pages that do not exist. To link to cp user pages use this:[[cp:user:TK|TK]] for user talk pages [[cp:user talk:RobSmith|RobS]]. I'd fix them myself but then you wouldnj't learn nothing. CЯacke® 14:06, 29 September 2007 (EDT)

Errr, not much to do? I think perhaps you were a bit too fast on the draw.....:p But thanks for noticing anyway! ;-) ----ИїģḥŤ¤Ṭŗáìṇ ♦Τάļќ ǃ 14:10, 29 September 2007 (EDT)
Odd, I did correct them, but they still link wrong! :-( --ИїģḥŤ¤Ṭŗáìṇ ♦Τάļќ ǃ 14:17, 29 September 2007 (EDT)
Not so odd, because I am a moron, not inserting the "user" I thought I did! I must not have saved the edit! Sorry! --ИїģḥŤ¤Ṭŗáìṇ ♦Τάļќ ǃ 14:24, 29 September 2007 (EDT)

Re:need halpz plz[edit]

Nah, I'm fairly sure it's the proper fascists, not the fundies, this time. I mean, TK's criticising it as liberal bias, and reverting it to the old stuff, but if you compare it to [en.metapedia.org this], you'll see the context. -- מְתֻרְגְּמָן וִיקִי שְׁלֹום!

So that means they shouldn't be embarrassed over it? I was thinking it would be a right proper Sunday night fight! Assfly defending racism and all....----ИїģḥŤ¤Ṭŗáìṇ ♦Τάļќ ǃ 21:35, 30 September 2007 (EDT)
Small, ineffectual, fry. -- מְתֻרְגְּמָן וִיקִי שְׁלֹום!
I bow to your seniority and experience, sir. Just seemed pretty blatant, even for CP! If you need a hand there, let me know. -- --ИїģḥŤ¤Ṭŗáìṇ ♦Τάļќ ǃ 21:58, 30 September 2007 (EDT)
Here, there is no seniority or experience - there is only survival. Did I just type that? -- מְתֻרְגְּמָן וִיקִי שְׁלֹום!
HAHAHA! Touche'. Still, I will take my guidance from those who have been around longer. How is that? ;-) --ИїģḥŤ¤Ṭŗáìṇ ♦Τάļќ ǃ 22:08, 30 September 2007 (EDT)
