You're not eligible to run in the election, try again next year. Christopher (talk) 13:00, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

Stop acting like a candidate, you won't be on the ballot. Christopher (talk) 13:34, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

Newbie biting, even though I am not really new, will not help your wiki grow, child. The White Wing Dove (talk) 13:36, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
Saying that you won't appear on the ballot isn't newbie biting, it's fact. Previous accounts and IP edits are irrelevant. Christopher (talk) 13:41, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
You probably opposed Bernie Sanders too. The White Wing Dove (talk) 13:44, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
How is that relevant? Christopher (talk) 13:52, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
Look, just make lots of good contributions for the rest of the year and you might get elected mod in January. Hell, make a couple dozen good edits in the next week and we'll make you a sysop. OK? RoninMacbeth (talk) 13:55, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
Also, while I thank you for the nomination, I am ineligible to run. RoninMacbeth (talk) 14:13, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

You've been very combative at RationalWiki:2017 board of trustees election/Nominations. You are indeed not eligible. If you stick around, we'll have a moderator election in 5 months and another board election in 1 year. If you are serious, that is plenty of time to gain the respect of other users. oʇɐʇoԀʇɐϽʎzznℲ (talk/stalk) 14:01, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

I'm not ignoring you, I'm just not continuing the conversation because it is counter-productive for the wiki. Instead, lets focus on electing good elligble candidates, like Tim Starling, Human, RobSmith, or Koidevelopment. The White Wing Dove (talk) 14:09, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
...You nominated nobs? RoninMacbeth (talk) 14:22, 4 August 201zee7 (UTC)
Nobs, as I understand, has business experience, and diversity is a good thing in organizations, just as longs as we don't elect trolls. The White Wing Dove (talk) 14:26, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

Two additional considerations[edit]

  1. Community policies and community content are both not determined by the Board. ([1] RationalWiki practices mobocracy, in which all voices have equally little authority. [2] The RMF is not legally liable for RW content if it doesn't control it -- or so the WMF has argued about WP.) If you want to change them, just propose changes on the talkpage and get people to support them.
  2. Human handles financial concerns. Ikanreed, ReverendBlackPercy, and David Gerard all have IT backgrounds. (Only Human and Ikanreed are up for re-election this year; see here.) If anything, I'm the incompetent one. Why do you think the board is in need of reform? FᴜᴢᴢʏCᴀᴛPᴏᴛᴀᴛᴏ, Esϙᴜɪʀᴇ (talk/stalk) 22:16, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

A Question[edit]

I would have asked this in the campaigning page, but it is specifically directed to you. How do you intend to save RationalWiki from (what you say is) a crisis when the RMF doesn't control content? RoninMacbeth (talk) 14:46, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
