Barstool Sports is—on paper at least—an American blog website that focuses on sports journalism and pop culture-related content, founded by Dave Portnoy in 2003. It has been described as the "Bible of Bro culture" and has a loyal audience of manosphere-addled men aged 18-35.[1] The site's fanbase adopted the name stoolies and are notorious for their incredibly scummy behavior.[2] It isn't much of a stretch to call this site the jock to 4chan's nerd.[citation NOT needed]
Their ideology has been recently coined[note 1] as Barstool conservatism,[3] which doesn't much deviate from what alt-right and Trumpism has been doing.

Stoolies[edit]
Barstool Sports is primarily known for its impossibly awful fanbase, who call themselves the stoolies -- which is meant to be play on the barstool, but is more applicable for the other sort of stool.[2] They are also convenient for Potrnoy as his private army, as there are many accounts of the stoolies coming to mob and harass journalists that have reported negatively on Barstool Sports. Their targets have included the likes of Laura Wagner, Miel Bredouw, Robert Silverman, Soledad O’Brien and others.[4]
Misogyny and glorifying rape culture[edit]
“”Even though I never condone rape if you’re a size 6 and you’re wearing skinny jeans you kind of deserve to be raped right?"
