Priscila Côco, or Prisca Côco, is a Brazilian Flat Earth and evangelical YouTuber. She has produced numerous content on conspiracy theories, survivalism, dealing with narcisists and vlogs of her personal life. Like many others in the Brazilian flat earth YouTube community, she tries to make money by selling online courses, sometimes unrelated to the Flat Earth theme, like one in which she claims to have found the secret to "the Brazilian beauty",[1] whatever that means.
Flatcon[edit]
In 2019, Côco was a speaker at Flatcon, a brazilian flat earth conference.[2] This event was surrounded in controversy: firstly, it happened close to a masonic lodge (flat earthers often point the freemasonry as one of the greatest enemies of Christ, alongside satanism, abortion, the Catholic Church and many, many others), causing some to accuse the convention of "selling out" to the organization. Prisca (one of the few woman speakers at Flatcon, alongside Eu e Ela Curiosa, another flat earther channel) publicly defended the organizers of the event, accusing the freemasonry of trying to humiliate the Flat Earth Movement[3] and claiming flat earther critics of the event are hypocrites. Another tension happened with journalists: many flat earthers, including Prisca herself, said journalists were only there to mock the event. Finally, during Flatcon, Côco sang one of her songs, titled "A Terra é plana, meu irmão" (loosely translated as "The earth is flat my brother");[4] however, for some reason, Prisca omitted a part of the song where she says "freemason scientists are hiding the truth", causing some to accuse her of being a freemason herself (despite being a woman and having multiple videos critiquing freemasonry). [5]
Knowledge of math and physics[edit]
In one of her videos,[6] Côco claims New Jerusalem, the mythological city from the Bible, debunks the Globe Earth. In order to get to that conclusion, she grossly misunderstands the pythagorean theorem, grossly misrepresents spherical geometry, grossly misuses cross multiplication and, at the end, claims none of that really mattered, because a true christian should believe the Earth is flat simply because the Bible says so and not worry about silly things like math, physics or geography (possibly the most honest argument for a flat earth); oh, and also Pythagoras was a member of the Illuminati (yes, really). Her video seems to be inspired by a similar video[7] made by a bigger flat earther brazilian youtuber, Sem Hipocrisia ("No Hipocrisy"), in which he makes even sillier mistakes while being ten times as arrogant.
