El Chancho[edit]

So apparently, Che was also known as "El Chancho" (the pig), due to his bathing habits, or lack thereof. Any idea how to include this in the article? CoryUsar (talk)

@CorruptUser You could throw it in the start, or as part of the "idealistic years" bit. Just make sure to find a better source than a 2009 Listverse article, lol. Click Link Or Gulag (talk) 19:23, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

This one better?
Oh the irony; you can now smell like how Castro's nephew says he smelled like! CoryUsar (talk) 23:35, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

Pink capitalism...[edit]

I doubt that Che would've approved of all the t-shirts bearing his likeness on it. I guess Che has been whitewashed like so many others before him, Cesar Chavez, MLK... Palaeonictis Fossil beds 21:12, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

I guess I should add fucking Marx to that list. They now sell Marxist themed props in Karl's hometown of Trier, Germany. Palaeonictis Fossil beds 21:15, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
The Chinese also sell cheap tourist knockoffs dedicated to Mao Zedong. Man, he would be pissed to see how much Chinese society has drifted away from the vision he had for the future of the Chinese nation. Palaeonictis Fossil beds 21:17, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
Having fun with communism is better than actually living under communism, or in a society trying to achieve full communism. Nerd (talk) 23:19, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

For a left leaning wiki, this article is very negative.[edit]

Wonder why?--BeardOfZeus (talk) 22:45, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

Just because a lot of editors here tend to be social democrats doesn't mean they'll bend-over-backwards to excuse the atrocities of Communist revolutionaries. Or do you feel it has a negative bent even of neutral things?-- Forerunner (talk) 00:33, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
it is unduly negative. i tried to fix awhile ago but was stymied being unable to find neutral sources on the internet. they all paint him either as a saint or monster, either exaggerating supposed atrocities or completely whitewashing them. havent got answer for that. categories[edit]

if we gonna label people as one thing or another, show us how. show us their relevance. show us context. just saying so as acategory is lazy character assassination without, especially incredibly inflammatory accusations like racism and homophobia. AMassiveGay (talk) 16:23, 21 December 2021 (UTC)

its not like the article tells anything at all about his beliefs beyond a film critic's opinion AMassiveGay (talk) 16:26, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
@AMassiveGay Che said some very racist things (even for 1950) on his Diarios de motocicletaWikipedia. Problem is, he was 23 when he said those things. If saying stupid things in your early 20s means you're a racist for life, well, then I should probably add the category on my own user page... It's true that he didn't regret the racist remarks later in his life as far as I'm aware, but that doesn't mean he didn't change his mind. Che's homophobia is, as far as I know, well documented though, I might have to take a look again, but I agree that we shouldn't call him a racist because of some 70 years old quotes. GeeJayK (talk) 17:34, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
@GeeJayK The homophobia accusation should be relatively easy to prove or disprove. The racism accusation seems... odd? Like, he isn't really known for that? Insofar as he ever was racist, which I'd buy to some degree. Passive racism is a thing, it affects people, etc. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 18:07, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

T-Shirt Guy and Copyright[edit]

I stumbled on the creator of the famous image while looking up the artist of the beautiful 'inis' boardgame. Name of Jim Fitzpatrick. He's mad about all the t-shirts. Maybe it's worth a mention? idk https://jimfitzpatrick.com/product-category/che-guevara-poster-print/ -Shift — Unsigned, by: 185.16.206.115 / talk / contribs
