Nosort[edit]

Somehow, the last line of the table at "Editors at RW" should be prevented from being sorted ... But I couldn't make it work, now. I'll have to look into it tomorrow. Sorry. --LArron 18:27, 24 October 2008 (EDT)

Sysopery[edit]

I was power-tripping most innocuously today, when I accidentally seem to have demoted you. Oh dear... I hope you don't mind being a janitor. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 21:30, 26 October 2008 (EDT)

Here's your floor buffer, duster, and instruction manual. Promise not to have too much fun! ; ) Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 21:30, 26 October 2008 (EDT)

Please UNsysop me. Or I shall be obliged to quit. CaycePattern 22:05, 26 October 2008 (EDT)
Uh, okay. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 22:34, 26 October 2008 (EDT)
Done. Why didn't you want to be sysoped? Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 22:38, 26 October 2008 (EDT)
Why should I be, or want to be, "sysoped"? (with authority comes responsibility & I don't want that, not here) CaycePattern 22:51, 26 October 2008 (EDT)
On this site, "sysopery" comes with no "authority", so don't worry about the ensuing "responsibility". It just means you are trusted and welcomed. Please to join in the fun and block a few other sysops to whet your blade. We don't block vandals, so, relatively speaking, you are now recognized as an "Editor" and opposed to an "editor". Or vice versa. That's why we call it demotion. We are an anti-authoritarian site, after all. ħumanUser talk:Human 23:04, 26 October 2008 (EDT)
LOL!!! Really! An anti-authoritarian site!?? Thats beautiful.
I have no desire to be recognized and none to join in any any 'fun' thank you. CaycePattern 23:18, 26 October 2008 (EDT)
Um, as someone said elsewhere, RW has sysops where other wikis have editors and bureaucrats where they have sysops. You are completely fre to ignore the demotion. Also, if you didn't want "to join in any 'fun'",.... really, I have no nice rejoinder there. You don't want to have fun? Really? ħumanUser talk:Human 23:52, 26 October 2008 (EDT)
Methinks Cayce wants to be a sourpuss? Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 01:09, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
The "fun" at RationalWiki appears to consist of the most amusing blocking of each other and the satirizing of Conservapedia ("shooting", "fish" and "barrel" come to mind). I find fun elsewhere, thank you. CaycePattern 01:21, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
My goodness, you are a sourpuss! Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 01:26, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
We also get our "fun" by finding crackpot sources that align with our "mission" and mocking them. And, yes, we also enjoy randomly blocking each other and shooting Schlaflishes in barrels. ħumanUser talk:Human 01:43, 27 October 2008 (EDT)

Well, it was nice to have you here, if oh so briefly :( ħumanUser talk:Human 02:33, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
Jesus Christ, Human—they asked not to be sysoped, and then you went ahead and sysoped them! And now they're gone! Does it ever occur to you not to force your whims down people's throats? Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 02:36, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
RA, it is site policy to sysop any trusted (or barely so) editor. Cayce's issues were truly more complex than a simple set of buttons. Think about it... what obligations do the mop and bucket here really impose? Oooh, "and now they're gone". Shit, your really think that was why? Maybe they just got bored of us anyway? ħumanUser talk:Human 02:41, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
Really? Even if it is against their wishes? That's one shitty policy. As for your allegations regarding Cayce's "issues", that is not your call to make. It is Cayce's, and Cayce's alone. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 02:47, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
Yup, that's what we do. I didn't say "issues", so don't pretend to quote me. I said they might be "bored of us" - that's not an "issue", it's an understandable perspective. You are making a mountain out of a molehill. Sysopship is not a burden unless one wants to avail oneself of the one slightly useless option it includes. 02:51, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
My issue is that you forced it upon someone who had explicitly stated they didn't want it. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 02:53, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
Well, maybe you have a problem. Nothing is forced on someone by making them a sysop. It's how this site works these days, as I am sure you know. Now, please, take your meds, or a glass of fine beer or wine, or whatever it is that it takes for you to get off your angry horse, and join us tomorrow, same bat time, same bat channel. ħumanUser talk:Human 02:59, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
That is your entirely subjective opinion. What mattered in this case was not your own subjectivity, but Cayce's. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 03:02, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
Hello, I'm someone else's talk page with a massive indentation. Might it be a good idea to not use this page for this discussion? :) Kirkburn  talk  contr   03:07, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
Yeah, one of these days we should set up a permanent RA vs. Human cagematch page so everyone else can be spared the stupid. ħumanUser talk:Human 03:17, 27 October 2008 (EDT)

Wtf has happened with this site. I am very disillusioned with it. I notice that Pink and SusanG have boh left and now two longtime members of RW are squabbling over whether someone should or should not haave been allowed to turn down a sysopship. This place really has gne to the birds, I used to contribute here a lot but I see now why I can't be bothered anymoreDamoHi 03:19, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
Oh, jeebus on an easter stick, Susan went away? When did I miss that? I gotta do less plumbing and pay more attention! ħumanUser talk:Human 03:34, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
Continued apologies to Cayce. Susan and Pink disappeared about 10 days ago, dunno why. Want them back though :( Kirkburn  talk  contr   03:36, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
Apologies to using Cayce's page continued. I have been busy with "real world" issues, like soldering pipes together so I kan haz central heating again (it's getting cold out, here). I will miss Susan if she's gone. But I saw no "bye bye" message? She just sort-of vanished? (omission of caring intentional) ħumanUser talk:Human 03:43, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
She left because of you. Same with Pink. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 03:51, 27 October 2008 (EDT)
