What happened?
What happened to Chaos! ? Bring Chaos! back! Or better, bring Chaos! back but without the exclamation mark, it makes a mess when I'm writing about Chaos! . Editor at CPSig(h)! 14:58, 22 September 2008 (EDT)
- Never. I am tickled pink by my new name, and shall never rename myself again.
- Did you see how long it took to clear up my userspace and sigs when I renamed myself?? DID YOU???
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 14:59, 22 September 2008 (EDT)
I did and was sorely tempted to add:
if($wgUser->getUsernam() == "Pink") { break; }
to the Rename extension after it was over. tmtoulouse 15:02, 22 September 2008 (EDT)

Pink(Astronomy Domine) 16:56, 22 September 2008 (EDT)
- (EC)None of us could. It is one of the great mysteries the answer to which no mortal shall ever know, along with other mysteries like the true nature of the Holy Trinity and the exact number of female religious orders in the Catholic Church. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 16:59, 22 September 2008 (EDT)

- An intersting idea, but frankly, I doubt it. I would expect an angel to have a better taste in music. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 17:18, 22 September 2008 (EDT)
- Silence, Anders.
- I hereby approve this idea. Would I need to speak latin or something? Do I need to be interviewed by God first?
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 17:27, 22 September 2008 (EDT)
- I'm afraid I don't have much experience in angelology, but I don't think there are any particular language requirements. Angels can speak any language they need to, as far as I remember. On the other hand, you'd probably have to give up your free will. Bad experiences with that, you know. Rebellion in Heaven and fallen angels and all that.

- You always go for complex over elegant.
- You have this eerie ability to discern people's habits. Even ones we're not aware of. And what, exactly, would "elegant" have been?
Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 23:36, 23 September 2008 (EDT)
- Well, first of all: *preens*
- But essentially, I think you should go with Essayist!RARandom line. It's very neat, and we can avoid the confusion of having people clicking "Essayist" by only linking a small part of the word (one letter?) to the essay itself. What do you think? At the moment it's a bit chaotic. Even for me.
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 23:46, 23 September 2008 (EDT)
- I shall take that as a compliment.

Slow day today? --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 12:17, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- You shall not dull my triumph :P
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 12:28, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Ah, but if I wasn't around with my negative spin, you wouldn't have the opportunity to argue against me, thus getting an opportunity to further embellish your achievements. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 12:48, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Not so. If you spun things positively -- especially things that might be, for the sake of argument, mind-levellingly laborious -- it would be much nicer, and would make me feel all nice.
- Plus, when you walk down the street in your crimson frock coat, the gentlefolk would say "My word! There goes a nice fellow!"
- Or somesuch.
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 13:08, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Sorry. You're right. It's important work, and I for one would never have had the attention span to do it. And I hope your life force recovers soon.
- Not that I actually own a "crimson frock coat", mind you. I do have a grey trenchcoat, though. And a really nice hat. ^_^ --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 14:47, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- But if you don't have a crimson frock coat, what do you wear whilst japing? </perplexed>
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 14:51, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Contrary to the common opinion, it is in fact perfectly possible to jape whilst wearing clothes other than crimson frock coats. In my case, I usually wear much the same as what I do when not japing, i.e. a discreetly casual shirt and trousers. And a trenchcoat and hat if it's outdoors. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 14:56, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- I shall ignore your blatant ignorance of the finer points of japing. And your trenchcoat and hat remark makes me imagine some kind of pirate. What kind of hat are we talking about here? How many types of ornamental fruit? Roughly?
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 15:03, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Black trilby, precisely zero pieces of ornamental fruit. The idea is that you should imagine a dashing and mysterious figure like Sam Spade or Philip Marlowe, not a pirate. Who ever heard of a pirate in a trenchcoat, anyway? --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 15:06, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Dashing? Where are you dashing? Somewhere mysterious, no doubt?
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 15:19, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Oh, dear. Your relentless punning dash my feeble attempts at witticism. :-( --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 15:25, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Doesn't Yahtzee have a trilby? Are you a detective? What colour is groove? Can I have another muffin?
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 15:27, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Yes, Yahtzee has a trilby, and this fact significantly contributed to my decision to also acquire one. I am indeed a detective, in the sense that researching history is much the same as investigating crimes, except with less risk of being shot at (Usually). Groove is apparently predominantly white, plus some colours I have no idea what are or even knew existed. I'd be happy to send you a muffin, but I think it'd be quite stale by the time it got to... wherever it is you are. Also, I think you're channelling Millicent again. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 15:33, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Yours looks better than his. Although, admittedly, I only know yours from my imagination, in which I have defiantly characterised you as a most buckle-swashing pirate.
- In other news, some Millie strips are almost absurd in their resemblence of Me.
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 15:42, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Update: I never cease to be amazed. It's almost like a window into my mind ^_^
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 15:48, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Very interesting. :-) I don't know if I can quite live up to this new constructed image of Me as a pirate. Although I did take a few fencing lessons once. Until I found out I sucked at it and quit. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 15:53, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- You need:
- Long, tangled beard
- Crimson frock coat (wif gold bits)
- Ship (Don't forget this part)
- Cool pirate name ("Arrr! I be... Kjeldsen!" ... "Get off my ship.")
- Plunder
- To drink some grog.
- I think that's about it. What are you waiting for?
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 16:02, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- I can handle the beard, given a bit of time, a coat, a name, and grog. But the other two could be a problem. And what about wenches? All the other pirates would laugh if there aren't any wenches. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 16:42, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- With plunder, comes wenches. How can you aspire to Piracy if you don't understand basic pirate logic like that?? I can always lend you the Jellygalleon if you've not got a ship -- but I'm far more interested to hear about your pirate name!
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 16:45, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- So be it. I shall be Capitaine André, le Loup de la Mer. And may le Diable take those who cross my bow. Avast! --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 17:17, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- You can't be captain. I'm captain. You're my first mate.
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 17:18, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- This was not in the contract. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 17:21, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- It was in the puntastic "Mating" section. Possibly my favourite section ^_^
- Would you rather be something else? I'm sure we could both be captains if you insist -- although we'd have to share all privileges and authority, of course
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 17:24, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Nono. That would be confusing to the crew, the poor little things. I think it's a well-established pirate rule that in the end, the pirate with the coolest name gets to be captain. So if you can come up with a cooler name than mine, you get to be captain. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 17:26, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- I shall be Captain Pink, of course. I'm surprised you ask.
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 17:36, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

- Yes. The incongruity between my name and my bloodthirsty legacy will give my persona the illusion of mystery. Basic psychology, AK.
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 17:42, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Okay, you can be captain, but only because it occurred to me that I hate being a leader. But for the record, I still think it's a silly name for a pirate. You could at least think of a byname as well. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 17:51, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- "Pinkie"? *tugs your coat* What's a byname?
Pink(Astronomy Domine) 17:53, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- It's an extra name you use to inspire even more fear and trepidation in your enemies. "Capt'n Pink the something-or-other." I think it's called a byname, anyway. Nickname? Nom de guerre? --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 18:17, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

- With plunder, comes wenches. How can you aspire to Piracy if you don't understand basic pirate logic like that?? I can always lend you the Jellygalleon if you've not got a ship -- but I'm far more interested to hear about your pirate name!
- I can handle the beard, given a bit of time, a coat, a name, and grog. But the other two could be a problem. And what about wenches? All the other pirates would laugh if there aren't any wenches. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 16:42, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

- Very interesting. :-) I don't know if I can quite live up to this new constructed image of Me as a pirate. Although I did take a few fencing lessons once. Until I found out I sucked at it and quit. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 15:53, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Update: I never cease to be amazed. It's almost like a window into my mind ^_^
- Doesn't Yahtzee have a trilby? Are you a detective? What colour is groove? Can I have another muffin?
- Oh, dear. Your relentless punning dash my feeble attempts at witticism. :-( --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 15:25, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- Dashing? Where are you dashing? Somewhere mysterious, no doubt?
- Black trilby, precisely zero pieces of ornamental fruit. The idea is that you should imagine a dashing and mysterious figure like Sam Spade or Philip Marlowe, not a pirate. Who ever heard of a pirate in a trenchcoat, anyway? --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 15:06, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- I shall ignore your blatant ignorance of the finer points of japing. And your trenchcoat and hat remark makes me imagine some kind of pirate. What kind of hat are we talking about here? How many types of ornamental fruit? Roughly?
- Contrary to the common opinion, it is in fact perfectly possible to jape whilst wearing clothes other than crimson frock coats. In my case, I usually wear much the same as what I do when not japing, i.e. a discreetly casual shirt and trousers. And a trenchcoat and hat if it's outdoors. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 14:56, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
- But if you don't have a crimson frock coat, what do you wear whilst japing? </perplexed>
- Ah, but if I wasn't around with my negative spin, you wouldn't have the opportunity to argue against me, thus getting an opportunity to further embellish your achievements. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 12:48, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

- G-G is not depressive, Captain Pink, it is existential. It explores the deep existential angst that is the inevitable companion of the blandly suburban way of life in a post-modern world. Incidentally, comics like Family Circus and Drabble are much the same, only unintentionally. Family Circus, for instance, has run continuously since 1960 with the same uninteresting characters, living in the same uninteresting suburban environment, doing and saying more or less the same uninteresting things. It's like a horrible, horrible nightmare version of Groundhog Day. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 18:47, 28 September 2008 (EDT)

Pink(Astronomy Domine) 18:57, 28 September 2008 (EDT)
