Fereydoon Batmanghelidj was a doctor and alternative medicine promoter. He claimed that the true cause of much disease is really dehydration, and that many diseases can be cured simply by drinking large amounts of water. The Amazon reviews for his books include many anecdotes supposedly demonstrating this, involving diseases from asthma to heart disease.

His daughter is Camila BatmanghelidjhWikipedia, founder of the children's charity "Kids Company". Her philosophy is described as reactionary and pseudoscientific.[1]
