Rand Flem-Ath (His surname is a portmanteau of his and his wife Rose's surnames) is a crappy author and loony pseudoscientist who's published a number of books wherein he expands on the crustal displacement theories of Charles Hapgood. His day job is as a librarian, and he claims to have been on "History Channel, the Discovery Channel, NBC, CBC, and the BBC as well as on numerous radio shows".[1] Rand also appeared briefly in the schlockumentary The Mysterious Origins of Man.[2] One of his core beliefs is that not only is Atlantis real, but due to crustal displacement, it currently lies under several miles of ice in what we now call Antarctica. Which is, to say the least, wrong, and largely unsubstantiated.
