2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

And a dirty dozen more

Andrew Breitbart (1969-2012)[1] was a right-wing activist, journalist, and commentator most well known for creating the website Breitbart, named after himself, and he had previously helped create the famously right-wing Drudge Report[2] where he was described as "Matt Drudge's bitch."[3] He also, oddly enough, played a role in the creation of The Huffington Post.[4] Breitbart described his background as that of an apolitical liberal, although he notes the Clarence Thomas hearings changed his perspective[5]

Stopped Clock[edit]

Brietbart was one of the few people who believed that homosexuals should be allowed in conservative movements, and attempted to stomp out homophobia when it showed up, to the point where he joined the advisory council for the pro-gay Republican group GOPround in 2011.[6] He also thought Birthers, or people who thought Barack Obama was not born in the United States, were moronic and did everything he could to marginalize them.[7]
