Marquee Moon[edit]
That idiot sometimes blocks me just because the moron feels like it. Why was I blocked for 3.6 days when all I did was add in the fact that Nazi Nick Fuentes is an anti-Zionist???? [1] He also literally admits that he's just there to harass me, which isn't allowed here.
- 21:01, 14 May 2021 Marquee Moon (talk | contribs) changed block settings for Unclescrooge (talk | contribs) with an expiration time of 7 days (account creation disabled, cannot edit own talk page) (In order to intimidate and harass: The blockings will continue until morale improves)

- Blocked user for ~1 hour, about half an hour ago.Gale5050 (talk) 15:50, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- [EC]Definitely don’t think any action should be taken here, but that block was stupid. It’s not hard to wait for Unclescrooge to do something actually block-worthy @Marquee Moon. Christopher (talk) 15:50, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- That block was also unnecessary, and not something you have the authority to do. Marquee Moon is free to unblock themselves. Christopher (talk) 15:52, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- Oh, forgot that administrators could unblock here. Its banned on Wikipedia. Can thing of one example - wp:User:Edgar181.Gale5050 (talk) 15:53, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, we’re not Wikipedia. Blocking when you didn’t realise the other person could unblock is worse. Christopher (talk) 15:57, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- Though I don't think it's enough for a coop I do think MM was too harsh, and considering how easy it is to ban Scrooge that's quite a lot. We don't need more drama now, but if this happens again I'll support coop with a iban and who knows, maybe even sysoprevoke. There's no problem about finding another user annoying, but banning him just because you don't want to see his posts is totally unjustifiable. GeeJayK (talk) 16:01, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- 1) This should have been taken up in RationalWiki talk:All things in moderation first. 2) Marquee Moon should refrain from blocking non-sysops without cause. Bongolian (talk) 16:46, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- This needs to be a coop case. There should soon be a vote on whether to ban Marquee Moon, right??? Unclescrooge (talk) 16:48, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- That would be excessive. No actual action needs to be taken as long as Marquee Moon stops now, even then I doubt anything would pass. Christopher (talk) 16:50, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

Really Uncle Scrooge? On what grounds? I'm afraid that you haven't given us a good reason to as to why, so unless you can provide us with that and satisfactory evidence to substantiate your complaint, then I don't think that will happen. Harry Potter (talk) 16:52, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- This doth not warrant a ban. As for Moon; I'd be willing to await a response but am leaning towards a good faith assumption of a screwup/assuming that Scrooge had sysop when he didn't. Techpriest (talk) 16:57, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

- Yeah I do feel that Moon fucked up there with their misuse of joke blocks, looking at that it's quite clear that Moon got carried away with their joke blocks. I think that the best solution is for someone to advise Moon appropriately of the appropriate use of blocking, particularly joke blocks on non-sysops. Harry Potter (talk) 17:23, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- Shouldn't we move this to ATIM? GeeJayK (talk) 17:27, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- Yes. Bongolian (talk) 18:05, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- There needs to be some official guidance on what goes in ATiM and what goes in the coop. Christopher (talk) 18:11, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, I have been thinking the process needs to be clarified for some time. It seems a bit haphazard at the moment.Bob"Life is short and (insert adjective)" 19:46, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- No, keep the case here! Unclescrooge (talk) 18:28, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- Please proceed.UncleKrampus (talk) 18:38, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

Speaking for myself only as moderator, all coop cases should start in ATIM. If one starts a case in the coop before getting feedback in ATIM, one is more likely to make an ass of onself (i.e., thinking the problem is bigger than it actually is). Bongolian (talk) 18:55, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- Small routine problems don't warrant a coop case as a general rule. Unless it's something really egregious like a rights stripping or a conflict going wayyy out of control, it's best to start it in ATIM. This seems more like a screw-up. Techpriest (talk) 20:07, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
- Alright, I admit I screwed up here. I was being silly when it wasn't appropriate to be (and frankly I had no idea about the Fuentes business). It shall not happen again. 主要行事月 (talk) 20:21, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
