Talk:Policies of Donald Trump/Archive1
Clarification[edit]
This article isn't very clear. So he's cutting global warming research but the NASA earth science budget is increasing? Is that Obama-era funding? Also, is "Goodbye Americna Education" a joke? Annquin (talk) 17:01, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
- This is mainly a better place for Proxima to dump his/her stuff than in the Donald Trump article. Reverend Black Percy (talk) 17:08, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
- I'm waiting for Americans to get to work on this article and give an American take on Trump. Proxima Centauri (talk) 13:12, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
Just a discussion[edit]
Critiquing Trump on his personality hasn't really worked. This is much more biting, because it will show how much Trump has betrayed his supporters. FuzzyCatPotato of the Fake Tires (talk/stalk) 18:04, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
- Let's not make this about if Proxima can use the main Trump article as a dumping ground for poorly written trivia or not. Besides, do you have any idea how long an article on Trump's policies over the coming 4 years will become? No way it's a good idea to grow the existing Trump article to twice its length! Reverend Black Percy (talk) 18:56, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
Many new Trump policies are turning up and they aren't trivial. I'm trying to keep this article up to date with what I come across. I hope this will later become a good source for controversial Trump policies. I'm working hard to research this but I'd be very pleased if Americans were to:
- Improve my writing.
- Add material of interest to Americans.
- Make the article more American generally.
Please help. Proxima Centauri (talk) 18:05, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
Free speech[edit]
“”Trump added, “And I think [the press is] going to pay a big price.”
|
Trump also said that Paul Ryan would have to pay a big price, which he to this day still has to pay. Not that I believe Trump could be potentially very dangerous for free speech, and very likely he will, but as of yet these are empty words and not a clear promised policy. ∈ NameThatNobodyTakes (✎) 14:35, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
Categories[edit]
hoew many categories should this article have? Proxima Centauri (talk) 12:53, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
- Unless you want to argue that his policies are also "insufferable assholes", "living people"(!), "shysters", "leftists who turned right with age", "smooth-talking bastards" and so forth—only those which actually have something to do with his policies. There is such a thing as over-categorization.--JorisEnter (talk) 13:00, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
Suggestions for Education Section[edit]
I feel as though the section on education policy is missing a few elephants in the room: namely, DeVos' lack of understanding the difference between proficiency and growth, her refusal to answer whether or not she supports equal accountability (instead just repeating the same three-word non-answer over and over again while poor Tim Kaine visibly tries to avoid going insane), and of course, her stating that school should be allowed to have guns to prevent grizzly bear attacks. — Unsigned, by: 24.61.154.51 / talk / contribs 03:57, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
Concerning the free-speech topic[edit]
He also tweeted flag-burning should be illegal.— Unsigned, by: GreatPerson / talk / contribs 15:57, 18 February 2017 (UTC)
Suggestion[edit]
Could there be a funspace version of this page - perhaps resembling Fun:A day in the life of Donald J. Trump. 82.44.143.26 (talk) 17:55, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
- Sure — go ahead and try writing a first draft yourself if you feel you've got the funny for it! Reverend Black Percy (talk) 18:01, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
- I use Brithumour, understatement (and spelling) - and prefer commenting. 82.44.143.26 (talk) 19:39, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

Resistance[edit]
Since they appropriately saw it fit to start an entirely different entry on Trump's policies, why not a new page about the encouraging pushback against him? So far he hasn't been able to go as far as he wants to (his proposed budget just failed) because much of the country has turned out to fight back. Marches, town halls, the Dems in Congress, all of it. I think this deserves a page. — Unsigned, by: 67.248.64.115 / talk / contribs 00:28, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
- I think it's a good idea, though I wonder if the extent and its overall significance is going to matter in the end. --It's-a me, LeftyGreenMario! 01:47, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
The fight against him certainly is mattering, so I wonder if you are commenting on the significance of the page I proposed. — Unsigned, by: 66.152.101.94 / talk / contribs 15:22, 2 May 2017 (UTC) Come on, do this... Make a Resistance page. I don't mean #TheResistance. I mean a non sentimental non melodramatic analysis of the pushback.— Unsigned, by: 96.236.25.201 / talk / contribs 01:17, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
