Talk:Triple parentheses
Should we try to "appropriate" this?[edit]
Should we sign our own names with triple parenthesis (regardless of Jewishness) for shits and giggles? another Jewish conspiracy by (((Laurogeita Hamabost))) (talk) 20:47, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
- I'm not sure how much difference it would make. Nobody gives a shit about your laughable SJW website posing as "rational" or some shit. 81.134.89.140 (talk) 21:15, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
- With the apparent exception of you? The FCP Foundation (talk/stalk) 21:52, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
- The irony of you Conservative Justice Warriors never fails to amaze... But seriously, I think a funnier idea would be to use triple parentheses not for our names but either for every alt-right person who has been recorded of using it for example (((The Right Stuff))) or for anti-Semites like (((David Duke))).∈ NameThatNobodyTakes (✎) 22:04, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
- Posing as rational? "But I thought this was supposed to be RATIONALWiki!" Drink! Reverend Black Percy (talk) 23:27, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
- better yet, I wonder if we could convince hundreds of thousands of people to simultaneously start randomly using it to describe a variety of random people including/especially the alt right. Add in switching hundreds of thousands of Twitter accounts to Pepe the frog's profile image, adding the numbers 14 or 88 or both to random things and general mass-incorrect-appropriation of alt-right memes and terminology, and it could have a very real negative effect on the alt-right's functioning online. The goal would be to spread massive confusion via information entropy, creating a 'fog of war' as it were. If properly executed, it could even cause alt-right communities to turn on themselves in witch hunts to purge undesirables due to a moral panic.— Unsigned, by: 70.210.135.61 / talk / contribs
- Nope, appropriating ingroup designators that awful bigots use to flag themselves lacks irony or humor and just gives them a false sense of being supported by the public. Appropriating outgroup markers to highlight how fucking goddamn stupid the distinctions they draw are is hilarious and takes pride in the things they try to marginalize. It's like "fuck your antisemitism, I'm proud of my eastern European Jewish heritage no matter how petty and hateful you get." (((ikanreed You probably didn't deserve that))) 21:05, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
- Why not express that pride with some aspect of that heritage rather than by adopting the latest racist meme? WěǎšěǐǒǐďMethinks it is a Weasel 20:27, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
- You do know that the words "Tory", "Democrat", "Whig", "Socialist" and "Communist" used to be insults and "liberal" is still used as an insult in many corners? I am not the Ombud's man 21:54, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

This has been appropriated to the extent that actual white nationalists have abandoned its use and the only people using it are parody strawman accounts LarkhillFive (talk) 22:45, 13 December 2017 (UTC)
- Or maybe there's already a major flaw: (((Adolf Hitler))) took a lot of effort to deny his Jewish heritage, and the tag is meant for those of perceived Jewish ancestry even if it's ultimately disproven. You know, I propose that should become one of the examples, while elaborating on that point. ---216.154.16.87 (talk) 14:28, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

3 greater than less than signs ? <<<example>>>[edit]
I saw a few comments on Reddit using this. All were downvoted to shit. They seemed to be using them in a similar way to the triple parentheses, and I know Reddit cracks down on anti semitism hard, which makes me think they were trying to evade an algorithm. The only weird thing was some of the things in the “echos” were not Jewish, ex: ABC news. Has anyone else seen this? Sievert 81 (talk) 02:27, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
- It's possible they just don't get that it's a "(" and not a "<". Anti-semites generally aren't the brightest... Twodots (talk) 05:01, 10 January 2021 (UTC)

Sunn, manufacturers of guitar & bass amplifiers greatly appreciated by grunge types, had a logo that looked a bit like this: Sunn O)))
