Eh, I'm actually worried that my labors would increase the entropy of the universe to such a degree that I, (by my actions, [i.e. work], and continual labors ) would cause the death of the universe and it's cold, dead, lifeless existence would be all my fault. Blocking TK[edit]

Excuse me? What in your mind is a "real reason", if not outright insults like the one I quoted? I'm reinstating the block until I get a straight answer on that. --Kels 14:08, 6 January 2008 (EST)

  • The comment that earned the block didn't really rise to "intimidating behavior" IMO.
  • "old, bitter drunk" is Human anyway. Well, at least "old" and "drunk" are; bitter's a rather subjective term and given the nature of the exchange, mild.
  • In blocking you prove TK's point about the site not growing because the old guard tends to circle the wagons a bit too quickly and a bit too often.
  • The exchange started with other's taking shots at TK's expense: okay, they were mild jabs but he shouldn't be picked on...He should be allowed leeway to defend himself.
  • No-one found it offensive, but you, apparently.
That said, I will not undo your block. I leave it to your own conscious.
CЯacke® 14:27, 6 January 2008 (EST)
I would ban pretty much anyone for that crack, as well as the whole paragraph it was part of. I wasn't singling TK out on that, and he'd already been warned about the Fibbonacci blocks in days, or I would have gone with only an hour or so. Also, since nobody else commented on it, I'm a bit mystified at your comment that no-one found it offensive. --Kels 14:31, 6 January 2008 (EST)
Let's then ask Huw when he gets here. He's the "offended party" should he be so inclined. CЯacke® 14:38, 6 January 2008 (EST)
Mmmm. I'm not sure that's the right solution. He may well say "So what." But is that the issue? Should the test for abusive behavior be whether the person insulted complains, or should it be whether it appears insulting to third parties? In other words should every person subjected to cyber-bullying be obliged to post a formal complaint against his persecutor or should admins be expected to step in? While Human is well able to take care of himself, we should also remember that we are setting a bit of a precedent here.--Bobbing up 14:46, 6 January 2008 (EST)
Good natured snarks or offensive behavior have to be judged in the light of the participants and the follow-up in the exchange. Had the comments come from Bohdan, (though not his style), would we be having this discussion? Ah well, volleyball calls me. CЯacke®
That is the question indeed. I feel that the answer is no, as certain users seem to have an extreme grudge against Tk (Not saying he's always in the free and clear, he has gone after other users to, but his comments sure do seem to draw much more fire than others). I have one more bit of research to do before commenting here. humanUser talk:Human 21:09, 6 January 2008 (EST)

Comment from human[edit]

First a general comment. In the past, we have tested personal attacks by the standard of whether someone feels attacked or not. I remember, for instance, blocking HG once for what I perceived to be an insult. The receiver of the "insult", however, said he didn't mind HG's comment - so there was no foul and we unblocked HG forthwith. It does make sense to do this - for instance, an "in joke" between two editors may look nasty from the outside, but be harmless to those involved (as long as they aren't insulting someone else).

Second, the issue at hand. Last night after getting off the phone with a friend 'round 1:30 AM (2:30 contrib list time) I scanned my watchlist quickly, and made two edits. This first was to talk:main, and is the section in question, and the second was in mucketykipeze on the bible talk page, and was utterly harmless. I investigated this in the off-chance I had provoked TK somewhere else on the wiki.

Here is what I added to a fairly random thread: "Me me me! Everyone forgot me!!!! Oh, never mind... humansub 01:37, 6 January 2008 (EST)". Fairly innocuous, I think, and not directed at anyone specifically.

TK replied "Yes, you old, bitter drunk...denigrate and diminish even nice conversations when they don't go the way you wish (down the toilet). It's apparent to everyone who comes here and has left.....odd you don't notice the RW retention rate, even for far-leftists, is dismal. That's because old, bitter snarks who have been made admins, want it like that. Otherwise your control over the place will go. And control is what you are all about. --TK/MyTalk 02:19, 6 January 2008 (EST)"

Points taken one by one...

  • I am old, sure. Not as old as TK, but older than "most" people on here.
  • I'm not "bitter".
  • While I may drink to excess quite regularly, and feature the scotch userbox on my user page, etc., there was nothing to indicate drunkenness (or bitterness?) in my silly little post.
    • Combining these three adjectives is something one should only do when they are close enough to the other person that they know it's a joke. And it had better be followed with j/k or a smiley, at least, if typed on the innertubes.
  • The next section is what I consider a personal attack, pure and simple. "denigrate and diminish even nice conversations when they don't go the way you wish (down the toilet)" has nothing to do with what I said, and implies a pattern on my part of denigrating and diminishing nice conversations - which is not substantiated.
  • The rant about control and user retention is irrelevant, although it's also pretty nasty in a general sort of way.

Trouble is, I didn't read any of this until this evening, about 18 hours later. Who knows what would have ensued if I had read it last night - I might have complained, I might not have cared, or, worse, I might have been rude in return (although I've not done that sort of thing for a while).

TK has a history of calling me some pretty offensive things, and I don't like it when he does. I never find it funny, and it bothers me when people post unsubstantiated personal attacks on me on the web.

Summary: I do consider the post an offensive personal attack. I leave it up to the rest of you to decide, however, whether the 2 day block should run its course or if "time served" is adequate. And to discuss whether Kels was rash or justified in the block. humanUser talk:Human 21:28, 6 January 2008 (EST)

The block was a good one, IMO, I originally reverted it based on my (considerable) gut telling me that too much time had elapsed from the time of the comment to the block. It looked vindictive. My gut has been wrong before and perhaps I shoulda stayed out of it (or at least talked about it before reverting the block). The comment on the unblock was "Please have a real reason for blocking" and seems now, in retrospect, a tad too terse, (or even wrong). As always, we should strive to "play nice" with other people's children. CЯacke® 21:55, 6 January 2008 (EST)
Do we know for a fact that TK was referring to Human? It wasn't indented in as far as Human's comment (IIRC). I thought at first he was referring to Susan (the two aren't the best of friends, she had just made a comment about him previously). Then again, I'm notorious at misunderstanding people. ThunderkatzHo! 22:17, 6 January 2008 (EST)
So looking back, it probably was about Human (no one else had commented close to that). However, in light of the fact that nothing TK said in that section was coherent or on topic, I vote we forgive him for being drunk and unblock him. ThunderkatzHo! 22:21, 6 January 2008 (EST)
What makes you think TK was drunk? I rather doubt it, but if he was, why would that mean we should unblock him?--Bobbing up 05:49, 7 January 2008 (EST)

The problem is Human, you are being too "rational", and TK is "irrational". So to give his comments the same respect as you would those of someone who is not a psychopath, would be a mistake. TK has a habit of repeating things that people have said to him. So when he calls you "old" or "bitter" or a "drunk" this is because someone has said this to him. If he complains that you "denigrate and diminish even nice conversations" it's a sure bet that someone has accused him of doing this in the past. Ditto his "control is what you are all about" remark. It's not really about you, you are just a convenient target for the "hate" that he so often accuses others of having. You must understand the madness behind the man... — Unsigned, by: 193.200.150.23 / talk / contribs

I guess I follow your logic? Well, yes, he is a sociopath, etc., etc. I get the picture. Compare our contribs to the wiki if you're really bored. humanUser talk:Human 06:11, 7 January 2008 (EST)

So, according to "Human" is is acceptable to call someone a sociopath, but not a bitter, old drunk, lol. Typical of the power elite here, allowed to get away with whatever they want to, but demanding they be allowed to silence and harass whoever they don't like. Very liberal! Very rational! He sounds like Andy, inviting others to "make substantial edits of a quality kind", in his statement above, knowing full well, if one investigates my contribs, one finds lots of "missing" wiki glitches, deleted material, and 95% of all my edits here have been reversed, mainly out of spite. The elites here, they only fool themselves.....anything to hold on to power. We understand them. --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old English Prunes Are Usually Bitter 18:12, 8 January 2008 (EST)

No, they work as you make them. All the better for me to make my points, is all. Neither was your fellow Cabalist Kels blocked for her attack on me in WIGO. Nor were you or AmesG blocked, for doing the same on my talk page last month. Only those who admins dislike are ever blocked, except for your beard and shining example of "tolerance" Bohdan. Like I said earlier, even my recent block, formulated on AmesG's bogus pronouncement, based upon two reversed and against the rules blocks by you and AmesG, was crap. It only makes people stay away, as you members of the Cabal show how intolerant you are, and use comparisons to fascist CP to show you are more tolerant. Being a bit more tolerant than a Nazi, isn't a particularly good thing in most people's opinion, Human. Let's see you and AmesG give up, completely, your power, forever, to see how much equality you can take, huh? --TK/MyTalkRemember: Old English Prunes Are Usually Bitter 18:49, 8 January 2008 (EST)

I don't understand, Cracker seemed to be an unproductive wise-ass, that only posted to WIGO and various talk pages to add his touch of (what I'd guess could be called) humor. Maybe I just don't know the backstory. I don't know. Can I have his sysopship? Warren Terra 19:17, 16 January 2008 (EST)

Hey[edit]

Thanks for the block, hehe. Maybe I should stop making sense :) --MrMetalFLower 15:36, 7 March 2008 (EST)

You can make all the sense you want since you're not likely to be procreating anytime soon. CЯacke® 15:38, 7 March 2008 (EST)
procreating? as in the reproductive sense? :P excuse my momentary lapse of understanding. --MrMetalFLower 15:40, 7 March 2008 (EST)
Right since your progeny isn't going to be showing up to make sense FOR YOU, you'll obviously have to make your own sense. So...your sense was right, I was talking about "procreating" in the reproductive sense.15:43, 7 March 2008 (EST) CЯacke®
Either you're already informed of my sexual orientation or trying to take a shot at my manhood... good luck finding any vestiges of heterosexuality in me :P --MrMetalFLower 15:48, 7 March 2008 (EST)

ow do i reset my password without an email having been set up? 70.72.49.178 (talk) 03:10, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

This question is above my paygrade, you'll have to talk to a tech person. I would imagine you'd have to tell them (via email) your username. I would also imagine that they would have to try to confirm you're actually the username you're claiming to be. They'd reset your PW and then you'd have to log in to change it.
This shouldn't take more than 3 weeks.
Maybe you should create a sock instead? C®ackeЯ

I have a GED[edit]

...but I reinserted the dirty words in your most excellent WIGO. P-Foster (talk) 16:26, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

So I seen, thank you. The "unwritten" rule is (I guess) to keep RW looking betterer than CP by taking the high road. While I wouldn't want to see every WIGO in the gutter, sometimes it's best to go LOW to get in a good uppercut. 16:41, 10 June 2011 (UTC) C®ackeЯ

sayasaki the sysop[edit]

How do you mean "GP?"--User:Brxbrx/sig 17:18, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

GP= General principle.
While his werk is excellent and whatnot, we're not a meritocracy...he should have to wait a few days (unless he's your sock) for to have the powerz, that everybody else had to wait fer. revert as ye see fit, I've made mine point. 17:38, 25 June 2011 (UTC) C®ackeЯ
OK. In a few days I'll do it again, will that be alright?--User:Brxbrx/sig 17:41, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
being a re-noob here, what are the general principals of when you sysop?--Sun mowse.pngEn attendant Godot 17:58, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
A few days, he created the account on the 23rd and was sysoped the 25th...a bit too soon for mine taste. I'd also like to see at least fifty edits. but remember that as a mobocracy the way brx did it was fine...I just happened to disagree. 18:24, 25 June 2011 (UTC) C®ackeЯ
In this case edit count is trumped by the high substance of his edits. He wrote a great essay, does that count for nothing? Anyways, your call. You have seniority and I like you.--User:Brxbrx/sig 19:42, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
Tsk, this is silly. If you feel strongly that the user should oughta have a sysopship, give it to him; I won't revert. I've made my point but this needn't be a power struggle thing, do as ye see fit. If someone else, though silent, agrees with me, don't be surprised if the decision is revisited again. C®ackeЯ
Very well.--User:Brxbrx/sig 01:31, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for telling me about the general guidelines around edits. I thought the editor made a mistake, so I wanted to correct it. Considering it's Conservapedia though, the poor grammar would actually help our case against it.

You can tell I'm new here, so forgive me if I haven't posted this reply correctly.

Yep ill try to learn that button. As I am going to edit right now.. fingers crossed.

If someone can help me with creating a new heading for Jose Escamilla on his page please do. Or if I give you the information can you do it for me because I am a tard at editing.

Jose's Latest Scam is Vortex Based Mathematics. His website for raising money is http://randysdonuts.neverendinglight.com/ Supersoylent has a video up on his youtube channel debunking it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAebKbnauG0&feature=plcp

Jose is also trying to raise 15k for a song about a dead girl.. He has removed the video after I kicked up a stink about it by writing to the official website.

Well please let me know as I do not want to piss people off with my poor editing techniques. — Unsigned, by: GreyMoon / talk / contribs

You can't put your comments on the talk page?[edit]

It would be much simpler if you did so. After all, if everybody inserted their commentary where they put their name, then the registration would be a mess to sort through. There's no reason to allude to your inebriation on the registration page, and doing so risks complicating the page's purpose.--"Shut up, Brx." 08:17, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

If you need a wiki that is tidy and well run then yes the comments should go onto the talk page. I do not wish for such an wiki. So fuck off. C®ackeЯ 19:50, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
