Some RW history[edit]
Sorry about that other guy's intemperate choice of words. You may find his impatience understandable, however, in light of the following:
Why is MarcusCicero unbinned? |

Remember:
Hi, This is John's brother. I know he has been using this account for a variety of reasons, none of them productive for his troublesome history of mental health problems. For obvious reasons I don't want to go into details about this but suffice to say my mother and father have decided to withdraw his access from the internet for the duration of his most recent treatment process. I apologise on my brothers behalf for any problems he may have caused this website during his period of instability. As you know, his posts have been of a bizarre quality but that is merely a reflection of his real world mental anguishes. MarcusCicero (talk) 23:09, 11 July 2009 (UTC) |

My glorious run has ended. This is not a case of 'leaving and never coming back', but more a case of 'burn out'. I created a personality on the internet so radically different from the real life version that I've forgotten even what trolls remorse feels like.. (You can thank Refugee over on RWW for providing the impetus) My highlights on RW:
One regret: Stooping to do the mental illness stunt. That was a terrible miscalculation. Adios RW! I may pop in from time to time, but at least now you'll know for sure than I'm a fully fledged troll! MarcusCicero 19:48, 5 December 2009 (UTC) |

On the other hand, the temptation to shake the ant farm and watch them scurrying to each others aid is far too great to overcome. MarcusCicero (talk) 10:45, 7 June 2010 (UTC) |

- Thanks for the links. I can see why MarcusCicero is not just harmless. Yet as far as I can see the only really damaging thing he did was to delete a couple of pages almost 4 years ago. I seem to recall that some longstanding editor has done something similiar recently and still has his rights. But I might confuse things, since I'm almost entirely lurking on this wiki. Anyhow, I won't sysop MarcusCicero agian then. CheersTh. BernhardDas Leben ist ein Prozeß, den man verliert, was man auch tut und wer man auch ist. 18:11, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
- MarcusCicero is the longest-standing troll in RationalWiki history and the cause of quite a few community dramas. To be honest, I think the best approach these days to him is to just let him spew his blather and then go about your business while not blocking him, not reacting to him, and not giving him any more/less rights. Seems to be working just fine, since nobody knows/cares who he is these days. Unless, of course, you love watching RationalWiki be an unfriendly place to hang around. Reckless Noise Symphony (talk) 07:07, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
- More recently, in 2011(?) he created his own webshite (no defunct) with which to attack RationalWikians, among them being attacks and fact-less accusations lobbed against our founder and even comparing a long-time editor to a convicted pedophile. - I'm so fucking glad I stumbled on to this. I didn't accuse Trent of anything, somebody else made that allegation. I kinda overlooked it at the time, and hadn't taken into account how litigious Americans are with their legalistic mumbo jumbo. By the paedophile accusation I assume you're referring to Foster the Cruel. I put up an image of Fritzl because I thought it looked funny. That article was hilarious by the way, I compared him to Hitler, the Japanese attacking Pearl Harbour, Dracula, Josef Fritzl, and just about every other villain there has ever been. The fact that you would take it so literally and not bask in its delightful Swiftian gross exaggeration is a pathetic display of your complete intellectual vacuity and your inability to think subtly. My race is a lyrical one, we rarely get to the point quickly and we delight in words and phrases that evade rather than present the truth. We do not speak plainly, we speak in slow, meandering, obtuse ways. But in this lyrical expression there is a deep wisdom. Those who have embraced Swift, Joyce, Shaw, Yeats etc. will appreciate this. Americans will not, because they are vulgar creatures. MarcusCicero (talk) 19:23, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
- If by "Americans" you mean denizens of the US, could you be more particular, and tell us which of the more than three thousand counties you're talking about. I suspect you have no idea who it is you so glibly disparage. Sprocket J Cogswell (talk) 19:34, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
- As you can see, he's also pretty racist. The Irish are lyrical, Americans are vulgar scum, South Africans are racist, and so on. His racism is a long-standing part of his shtick, which relies heavily on being grandiose and silly, that way he can fend off any criticism or response by claiming to be the puppetmaster.--talk 19:48, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
- Oh AD, how very silly of you. I can't be racist against national groups. I just find your seriousness and furrowed brow to be so very endearing. You're so sincere. Its such a lovely American trait. MarcusCicero (talk) 19:57, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
