If you want to save a Wikipedia article, you can always copy it into your sandbox and try to edit it to meet with Wikipedia's editorial standards. If you want to make a draft of it here, then you can copy it onto a draft and edit it so that it can eventually be its own RW article. RoninMacbeth (talk) 18:36, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
- If you do import WP content onto this site, though, PLEASE NOTE AT THE TOP OF YOUR DRAFT THAT IT CAME FROM WIKIPEDIA. RoninMacbeth (talk) 18:38, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
- Is a "draft" different from just an article?TwoPlusTwoIsFive (talk) 18:55, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
- Yes. An article is what we would call "mainspace," whereas a draft is what we would call "userspace." This means that a draft of the article would be, for example, "User:TwoPlusTwoIsFive/Joey Watkins." RoninMacbeth (talk) 23:53, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
- And here's the link to the draft. Remember, we're not going to allow this to be a mainspace page until it's both more original and more, well, RationalWiki-esque. RoninMacbeth (talk) 00:03, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

Welcome[edit]
Use the sandbox feature. You'll also want to read the newcomers' guide. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 18:56, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
Draft Status[edit]
I think the content looks good, but I'd like to get the mods in here to take a look. @Spud? @CheeseburgerFace? What do you think about the Joey Watkins draft? RoninMacbeth (talk) 16:12, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
- Personally< I do not think that anything from Wikipedia should ever be directly copied over here. Not current versions of Wikipedia articles. Not old versions of articles. Not soon-to-be deleted articles. Not deleted articles. Not stuff from Wikipedia editors' user space that never got turned into articles. Nothing. I think you should really start writing something in your own words when you create a draft. RoninMacbeth certainly did the right thing by adding the disclaimer to the top of the page. So, yeah, don't move it to main space until it has been rewritten. Spud (talk) 00:03, 2 July 2018 (UTC)
- It's still plagiarism, even a deleted page or an old revision.—HamburgerPlate (talk • stalk) 21:32, 2 July 2018 (UTC)
- I wrote essentially the entire article on Wikipedia. So I'm copying myself. That said, I'll continue changing it until nothing but the references remains the same, since it's apparently important.TwoPlusTwoIsFive (talk) 23:52, 2 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Spud @CheeseburgerFace. Here is the situation. The factual summary at the beginning I have rewritten. It is still similar to what I wrote on Wikipedia because it's a factual summary of the same material. Everything from the two parts on Problems with the Prosecutions Theory is completely original here, because Wikipedia doesn't allow one to do actual reasoning. The part at the end about Undisclosed and the Innocence Project is rewritten. The Summary was not on Wikipedia. Lastly, I hope you will consider my motivation here. I have no personal connection to anyone in the case. But it angers me that the wrong person is in prison, this is proven, and the state won't do a thing about it. That's why I want it covered. Wikipedia is apparently opposed to that, so I brought it here.TwoPlusTwoIsFive (talk) 01:10, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- OK. Since you say you have substantially rewritten the page, I have moved it out of your user space and here to main space. What happens to it next is up to the the rest of the community here. Spud (talk) 05:24, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you.TwoPlusTwoIsFive (talk) 12:36, 3 July 2018 (UTC)

Article had to be deleted[edit]
Sorry. I had to delete your Joey Watkins article. I'm afraid you didn't manage to convince us that it fitted in with our mission. Please don't take this personally. I'm sure you can make some very worthwhile contributions here in the future. Spud (talk) 03:55, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
- I realize you were just following the rules. Could, yes, but it's not likely as my main interest is wrongful convictions, which apparently don't fit in here. Frustratingly, the only wiki I am aware of that is likely to take them is InfoGalactic, many of whose members seem to be obsessed with race. Ugh.TwoPlusTwoIsFive (talk) 15:07, 7 July 2018 (UTC)
