There is some debate as to whether Willow was a good movie or not. Teach the controversy!! --Kels 07:10, 21 December 2007 (EST)

Of course it is! How could any movie with so many midgets be bad? Of course, my taste in film is in considerable doubt because I watch [hackers] at least once a month, and enjoy it. It's totally why I got in to software security. --JeevesMkII 20:04, 7 October 2008 (EDT)
Isn't that the one that shows breaking through a firewall as a pac man video game? tmtoulouse 20:06, 7 October 2008 (EDT)
Yuh huh. And that's only a minuscule part of the overall awesomeness of the movie. It also has Angelina Jolie. Also, now over a decade later if you buy an EeePC and run Enlightenment on it, you can actually get yourself a fair facsimile of the laptops they had in hackers. Huzzah for the march of progress. --JeevesMkII 20:10, 7 October 2008 (EDT)

People really need to provide reasons for why they are a certain character. Otherwise we'll have people saying. "Hmm, I really like Ackbar, I'll think I'll be him. --"ConservapediaUndergroundResistorcat! 19:34, 30 December 2008 (EST)
You might be taking this fun article a bit too seriously. But let's play it your way. Who is this "guy who gets a name and dies four seconds later" & why are you him? wassaiLOIdWeaselly.jpg~ 19:46, 30 December 2008 (EST)
You notice that I can't keep an account on Conservapedia for more than 10 seconds. I get an account, then I die (get banned).
That's actually normal. Probably goes for most people here. There are ways to survive at CP, but they involve being a hateful reactionary cretin, or else pretending to be one. wassaiLOIdWeaselly.jpg~ 21:31, 31 December 2008 (EST)
I go out shooting: bang, bang, bang, <fires proton misiles>. I'm once managed to cripple an Imperial Star Destroyer (their cat article). Now those cretins can edit it! Ha, ha, ha. P.S. FD is much too unpleasant to be a droid. Possibly Greedo, or some other Mos Eisley scum. Best fit is probably one of the thugs who try to pick a fight with Luke in the cantina, like this guy. He looks like he has testicles coming out of his face, which is about right for Fall Down. €₳$£ΘĪÐWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 15:34, 2 January 2009 (EST)

TK Ysanne Isard[edit]

Doesn't he seem to be more of a Yassane ISard than Darth Vader/ I mean like Isard he is in charge of getting rifd of the evil rebels/luibruls plus like Issard he seems to be really obsessed with power (vader could claim the force as a reason).

One minor problem with your suggestion: What's a Yassana Is(s)ard? -- Nx / talk 08:52, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
I believe Ysane Isard is a character in the novels. Here is a link I found, just FYI. Aboriginal Noise Oh, what a lovely tea party! 11:50, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I know that (I checked Wikipedia), my point was that the reference is obscure. -- Nx / talk 11:56, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
Quite obscure, indeed. Aboriginal Noise Oh, what a lovely tea party! 11:59, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, Ysanne Isard is definitely too obscure. That's like my level of Star Warsian knowledge which is too much. --Edgerunner76Save me Jebus! 12:01, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
Well, wookieepedia doesn't disappoint. -- Nx / talk 12:09, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

sorry I thought because we id'd PJR as Kyle Katarn we could id TK as Issard. (Recovering Star Wars geek).

Yoda does not speak German, or anything close to German. The sentence structure is not in any way similar to German. Please get it right. ఠ_ఠ Inquisitor Sasha Ehrenstein des Sturmkrieg Sector 06:53, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, that looks look like "a sentence with words in the wrong order must be German." In the meantime, Have some German-speaking Daleks SophieWilder 16:36, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
Late to the party, I am. Agreed, it's not even remotely similar to German. I've never heard this theory; I've always heard that Lucas simply wanted Yoda to talk funny without resorting to an accent. I'm removing that silliness from the article. --DarthBinky (talk) 15:58, 1 December 2024 (UTC)

The problems with Jedi[edit]

Compare and contrast the Jedi and the wizards of Rowlingworld.

The wizarding population marry and have children, most of whom have at least some wizarding abilities; and they accept those of 'the ordinary population' who have the relevant abilities/coming together of genes (as the original wizarding population must have emerged).

The Jedi recruit only males (with limbs that can carry light sabres) and discourage relationships.

The wizarding genepool is going to be self-sustaining; the Jedi geneset is likely to occur only by fluke.

If Episodes 1-3 and episodes 4-6 had been planned more coherently some of the inconsistencies between the trillogies could have been ironed out - and have an interesting plotline involving C3PO's relationship with the two Skywalkers. 171.33.222.26 (talk) 14:59, 4 October 2013 (UTC)

There is a female Jedi. She shows in episode III briefly just to get axed off. Plus all the padawans in Episode II when Obi-Wan is talking to Yoda about the missing planet. Zero (talk) 15:58, 4 October 2013 (UTC)

Some of us give minimal attention to 'Episodes I-III' - the overall impression is of male pre-eminence - and speciesism (not all can hold a light-sabre).

So, objectively, how sustainable would the Jedi set up be, compared to RowlingWorld wizards? (There would be an enjoyable irony in having C3PO protecting Princess Leia and also Luke because he/it has been programmed to 'protect Skywalker'). 171.33.222.26 (talk) 14:59, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Jedi Genepool" The star wars nerd in me laughs at you. --Mikal | lakiM 15:17, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

'The combination of genes which are required for the person to be suited to be a Jedi/wizard/other 'human with added capabilities' (whether or not given suitable training) portmanteau'd with a reference to the Darwin Awards for removing yourself from the genepool in a creative way. 171.33.222.26 (talk) 15:33, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

  1. ... and going by appearances, becoming a Jedi means one ages physically very fast - Anakin Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi in episodes 1-3 and 4-6. 171.33.222.26 (talk) 17:52, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

This should be in mainspace[edit]

We might want to stick a serious SW article in mainspace and maybe have a discussion on the pseudoscience/technobabble (come on, it's a sci-fi movie, no matter how good it is, it's gonna have some) so we can stick to our mission. I'd make it if I knew more about astrophysics. GiantMcChickenTalk to me about whatever 21:57, 5 April 2015 (UTC)

What would be the point? Our mission isn't a world where all fiction is strictly realist. WéáśéĺóíďWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 22:54, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
I kinda wanted an excuse to nerd out completely. I also thought it might be slightly fun to read. But we should definitely do some cleanup on the SW related articles, because right now we have this article, the Force article, which can definitely be merged with this, and the Jediism religion article, which can go either way. GiantMcChickenTalk to me about whatever 01:34, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

Was Ned stark in this?[edit]

Clone Wars was actually pretty damn good after Season 3, and Rebels is definitely getting better!RoninMacbeth (talk) 15:57, 3 November 2016 (UTC)

I object too, because these so-called “sci-fi” flicks are just Westerns set somewhere other than the Wild West ;) Mr Larrington (talk) 19:31, 1 November 2022 (UTC)

Star Wars Holiday Special[edit]

You forgot to include the Star Wars Holiday Special, as much as it would fit far better into the category:Torture --Panzerfaust (talk) 13:29, 14 June 2017 (UTC)

Clone Wars[edit]

I thought Clone Wars was really good starting from season 3, why would you call it "the dark times" ? (I understand that it's a fun article but it's still annoying).

Also I don't understand why people hate midi-chlorians. And the prequels, mostly Phantom Menace (the only thing I hate about phantom menace is Jar Jar and Anakin driving a spaceship). 88.179.164.164 (talk) 23:35, 11 November 2017 (UTC)

  • This article seem to be a relic of the early 2010s when the Prequel bashing bandwagon was in full swing. After the controversy of The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker however the fanbase seem to be more positive towards the Prequels in face of the Sequel trilogy's own flaws.--LucasGeorge (talk) 13:23, 6 March 2020 (UTC)

inquiry[edit]

if the first Star Wars film was so great, then why are both it and the Holiday Special flops? — Unsigned, by: 2607:fb91:2f8b:d2c0:6d72:32bd:97a4:3d25 / talk

Because it wasn't a flop, and how much money the holiday special made has no bearing on its quality Ioe bidome (talk) 00:17, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

Prequel Hatred[edit]

Most of this article was written in the late 2000s and early 2010s when Anti-Prequel Nazis, who were led by Reichsfuhrer Plinkett were at their most vile and influencial. As such I think this article should undergo Denazification to get rid of all that nasty Prequel hatred. A somebody. (talk) 00:00, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

? Ioe bidome (talk) 00:11, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

What makes "Prequel haters" nazis? Ioe bidome (talk) 00:13, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
I may have a bit hyperbolic with that statement but they still harassed and destroyed the mind of a 10 year old boy. They also have stupid and wrong opinions. Also not saying our Lord and Savor's name is just childish, just say his name and don't say it's not safe for life morons. A somebody. (talk) 00:18, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
