RationalWiki talk:2020 board of trustees election
Deadline[edit]
"Failure to either accept or decline a nomination by the deadline counts as a declination." it sayeth but I can't find any indication of when that is. I might be looking in all the wrong places. Can someone elucidate. Scream!! (talk) 13:36, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
- The deadline is implied the end of the nominations period, that is, July 19, per this page. —cosmikdebris talk stalk 13:52, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
2-year terms[edit]
Will all of the 4 trustees elected this year serve 2-year terms? If so, should we change election procedures so that if more than 3 trustees are elected in a year, the trustee elected with the least support gets a 1-year term? This would make it so that future years will continue to elect 3 trustees rather than 4 one year, 2 the next. Example. — pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 23:32, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
- DuceMoosolini resigned after being elected in 2019, so I think that the candidate who ends up #4 in votes is elected to fill Duce's position, which expires in 2021. Any other changes to the election procedure requires modifying the board's charter which is way beyond the scope of this election. —cosmikdebris talk stalk 00:03, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

You need to have an actual vote[edit]
Section 4.3(d) of the bylaws states that only the RWF board has the legal authority to determine the rules and regulations for voting and explicitly requires a vote. What you've done here is a legal nullity and should be challenged. Nutty Roux (talk) 14:12, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
- I stand with Nutty on this matter. There should be a vote, and the democratic (mobocratic?) process observed. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 14:17, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
- I also agree. RoninMacbeth (talk) 15:00, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
I propose new flags for the board, matching current election standards. — Godless Raven

- Considering that respect for votes is part and parcel of how this site functions, we should have a vote even if it was not explicitly specified in any set of rules.-Flandres (talk) 17:02, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
- So ya know how in North Korea they vote in elections where Kim Jong-un is the only candidate? —RWRW (talk) 18:01, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, because getting all of you brats off your asses to observe the vote, as laid out in the fucking bylaws, is the same as a sham election. Brilliant. Fucking morons. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 20:00, 16 August 2020 (UTC)

- I doubt that statement is accurate but it's irrelevant because this is an extremely clear and obvious joke and not intended as serious political commentary as to the nature of the various alleged non-capitalist states in the world today. Also this page is about the RMF elections not round 69 of the "my economic system is better than yours" argument. Smh — Z 17:59, 17 August 2020 (UTC)
