It's not that you're not supposed to, it's just that it's a bit sad. Also, we don't know you, so who'd get the joke? SophieWilder 13:52, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Was that supposed to help?[edit]

Blocking Rpeh/SuspectedReplicant after he'd given himself back his powers and done nothing to abuse them was a dick move that didn't help anything. Prodigal (talk) 23:09, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

He's been abusing his powers this evening, so I took them away until he cools it. I did it becaause he was acting like a prat, and using his other account to get round it shows he wasn't innon-prat mode yet. He'll get them back, it's not forever. SophieWilder 23:20, 23 February 2013 (UTC)
Yes he was acting like a prat. He'd already stopped by the time you stepped in. That makes you also a prat. Prodigal (talk) 23:21, 23 February 2013 (UTC)
He stopped because I stopped him. He deleted a page at 21:31, I desysopped him at 21:32. So yeah, might have chosen to stop in that one-minute interval. SophieWilder 23:26, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

Cardinal Keith O'Brien[edit]

You told me you teach creative writing or something similar, at least I think it was you who wrote that. Can you see ways to improve the the Bishop article? Particularly I'm concerned about my additions to Roman Catholic bishops behaving badly dealing with Keith O'Brien. Proxima Centauri (talk) 12:28, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

I think I gave tips on improving your writing style; you replied that you were too busy writing to learn how to write better. However you now say that your writing style could do with some help, which is a vital early step. SophieWilder 12:54, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

RW is a mobocracy, so its remit is what the majority say it is. Right now it's "let's be a science encyclopedia written by schoolkids." Have fun. SophieWilder 20:38, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Apology[edit]

Sophie, I apologize for whatever I did to send you off in such a tiff. You flagged the article as being irrelevant to the RW mission, and since there had been no conversation, I jumped in. My understanding was that the talk page was to have those type of productive discussions, where we can debate the merits of an article, and reach a consensus on whether it is right for RW. I presented my point of view, as well as my reasons behind my opinion; you called it a "puff piece;" The majority of the posters seemed to side with me (probably because you hadn't said anything to counter my arguments or present any of your own), and then, when I addressed your "puff piece" assertion, you seem to have either lost it or given up. I resepect your opinion regarding the articles we have on here, and I'm more than willing to entertain your assertions, but you have to present a real argument. That's one of the reasons that I came to RW; because I found a community of people who understand rational discourse and debate, and don't resort to "because I said so" tactics. I'd like to bury the hatchet, and if you really feel that the article is out of place, I'd like to hear why. I explained why I felt it was a good resource for combatting anti-science, while you seem to disagree. I'm not hard to convince if you have a good argument, but I'm not just going to take your word for it; that would be the exact opposite of being a skeptic, and if I did, then I'd be showing that I've learned absolutely nothing from this wiki. Reverend Lucifer (talk) 22:13, 1 March 2013 (UTC) Could you please reverse all the moves of articles you have done to teach us all a lesson? There was a consensus on these articles! --larron (talk) 21:09, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Some of my friends are women and I have a Tori Amos CD[edit]

It was just a joke. Just because I crack a joke about domestic violence, doesn't mean that I think domestic violence itself is funny. They were talking about sick jokes on the Chuck Norris page so I thought I'd throw mine into the mix. I've told that joke to female friends who find it funny. And just for the record, I see domestic abusers as two levels below rats and one level below cockroaches. If I offended you then I apologise but seriously, chill. --Let Them Eat Cake (talk) 21:04, 12 March 2013 (UTC)

You're some kind of biologist, right?[edit]

Could you have a look at this, and tell me if it says that trans fat from ruminants might be a good thing? Please, weigh in here--"Shut up, Brx." 22:28, 28 March 2013 (UTC)

I have an O levelWikipedia in biology an NVQWikipedia 2 in horticulture, and biology is a lifelong interest, and that's it. However I'm also a vegetarian, so my view is that getting it from ruminants isn't a good thing for the ruminants. SophieWilder 08:35, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
And the internet has completely failed to elucidate for me where A- and O-levels lie compared to associates, bachelors, masters, etc degrees. Wikipedia especially is a pile of fail. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 08:59, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
Hmm, you're right. O levels were taken at roughly age 15 or 16. Pass four and you could go on to do two more years of school and do A levels, and it's the A levels that get you into university. SophieWilder 09:43, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
Ah, okay. Thank you! Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 18:20, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
That WP article has no context whatsoever, and seems to have been written by and for people who know Britain's educational history. SophieWilder 18:23, 29 March 2013 (UTC)
It's cool that you're a vegetarian, I just want somebody with the right kind of knowledge to read the study so they can give us their assessment. Sidenote: the transfat in question is also acquired from ruminant milk products. If you don't think you have the knowledge, then I'll just ask Armondikov. And if not him, then I'll probably just remove that bit from the article, due to lack of proper sources (the only one I found so far was from a site that had something of a Dr. Oz "try this stuff, it's great and it'll change your life! and it's all natural!!!" vibe)--"Shut up, Brx." 20:46, 30 March 2013 (UTC)

There wasn't much merit in that talk page of mine staying up, particularly as a lot of it is merely pisspoor personal abuse. I'll just get rid of the article. On that score, you had the power to block me, but not the authority.

Also the fact that some people cannot distinguish between notes & finished product is, erm, worrying. The page was put together mostly using a mobile phone. I cannot edit large reams of text with it, only small sections. Typing is also problematic. -Albannach (talk) 11:13, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

I believe Ehernstein is amongst the many who have self-diagnosed their inability to interact with other humans as humans as Aspergers Syndrome. I tend to agree - it's the only explanation for why they are still here taking up space. Hipocrite (talk) 11:37, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
I've actually been formally diagnosed with Asperger's, but you don't see me flailing around like an alien octopus. Help:Mistakes[edit]

On the Help:Mistakes page, you rolled back my edits, stating that "homonyms are not simple spelling errors". If you look at the old version of the page, you'll see that I never put information into the article stating that. Instead, I merely attempted to make the "other common homonyms" section a little neater, though in retrospect I think I might not have done that. Would you mind terribly if I undid your rollback? Thanks. FuzzyCatPotato (talk) 14:39, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Gender issues[edit]

With Manning in the news, along with the horrific (national level) news of several murders of trans women/girls (I think one was a teen), I'm slowing goign to be workign to make our "gender" stuff more complete and clear. right now, it's thrown together slop. As I get each article written, would you be willing to look it over for things about transgender that I messed up, over/under stated, or just got totally fucking wrong? Quick Question[edit]

Sorry to bother you, but I have a question that relates to your username. Do you ever play the Tales of series of video games? The reason I ask is because your username is a combination of two characters names from that series (Zelos Wilder from Tales of Symphonia, and Sophie from Tales of Graces), and as a fan of the series I was curious. I hope I'm not being intrusive by asking. Protoman (talk) 21:55, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Never heard of them, I haven't played video games since the 90s, and that was mainly footie and snowboarding. God, snowboarding, that dates me! My username comes from Sophie Wilder, which is my name, and what it is too. Ahem. SophieWilderModerator 08:04, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Thank you! I just noticed the similarities and thought I would ask. By the way, and I'm just putting it out there, but you have an awesome name!
