I'm just using common knowledge from past experiences to answer this question:
  • Not all homeschool parents allow their children to access the Internet.I most certainly won't allow my children to access the Internet until they're 15.
  • There are 1.5x's the students as last time, which means there's at least 10 students who won't do half the homework Andy assigns.

Gaffer tape is black and non-reflective because it was used by electricians (gaffers) in the film industry. I think it is what they call hockey-mom tape in Canada. Duck tape was originally green and used to seal ammo boxes. The "duck" referring to it's waterproof property. It was only later that the shiny silver version got to be used in ventilation systems and people reversed the etymology to make it duct-tape. The original clear tape was called Scotch tape because the adhesive was not applied across 100% of the tape and a prospective customer queried this by asking one of the salesman "Is your boss Scottish?" I already banned myself for eternity before I left. How can they do that again?
Okay? She unblocked me just to block me again for the same time period? Silly Mr. Cat 23:08, 4 November 2008 (EST)
I'm pretty sure it's her way of saying goodbye... since your user pages were bleached. I dare you to be like "I want to come back" and get all your rights back from Andy, just to quit again. That would be epic. AndyToad.gifNorsemanCyser Melomel 23:17, 4 November 2008 (EST)
Naw. It won't work. Believe me. I emailed him about it, but he hasn't responded (he has responded to all my emails before last week). Silly Mr. Cat 18:12, 5 November 2008 (EST)
Okay, so BethanyS's unblock did a really good thing for me.. and that was unblocking my IP address. I will make my return and work my way back up when I feel like it. Silly Mr. Cat 16:45, 7 November 2008 (EST)
That doesn't make sense to me, coming back under a different name. If you're planning on returning under a different guise, they'll still know it's you by your ip address. If you're still planning on Andy being your father-in-law you'll have a certain favoritism no matter what. DickTurpis 16:50, 7 November 2008 (EST)
I talked to him (in person) last night and apologized. He said something along the lines of, "there's nothing to be sorry for...". I think I'll be safe as long as I make my normal edits (user and minor mainspace) and never partake in silly Talk edits. Silly Mr. Cat 16:58, 7 November 2008 (EST)

Oh, I'm in a local county college (2 years of study) right now.. and to continue study for a BS or a BA, you must "transfer" to a 4-year college/university. Yea.. 4-year colleges take the credits from the 2-year college. Hope that helped for definition. Silly Mr. Cat 20:28, 12 November 2008 (EST)

No drinking until marriage? That makes some sense... --Shagie 17:33, 14 November 2008 (EST)
I have drank some alcohol. My brother made me drink some beer on my 17th b-day, I tried a sip of champagne at my uncle's wedding, and I drank some white wine (less than an ounce) that was left over from cooking. I don't like it. Silly Mr. Cat 20:31, 14 November 2008 (EST)
Well that's your problem, champagne and white wine suck (especially cooking wine). And whatever beer your brother gave you was probably crap too. What was it? Some shitty American lager? A pint of fine ale. That's the ticket. Someday maybe you'll appreciate a quality single malt scotch, but that's not for beginners. DickTurpis 20:38, 14 November 2008 (EST)
<editt conflikt> Bah, you're bound to not like it if you only try it in little bits & pieces. You have to endure it a little bit, & then you'll enjoy it. weaseLOIdWeaselly.jpg~ 20:39, 14 November 2008 (EST)
Also tried some red (I think) with Phyl. There was, I'd say, 1/8 left in the bottle. She drank most of it.. I didn't like it, but she loved it. Silly Mr. Cat 21:02, 14 November 2008 (EST)
1/8 of a bottle? That's barely half a glass; not nearly enough. But red wine is an excellent thing to share with a ladyfriend. My opinion of Phyl increases with this new information. Hard to believe she's related to someone as vile as Andy. DickTurpis 21:15, 14 November 2008 (EST)
Kek, I join you in the "not drink so much" stuff - I can't so no to a few types of girlie drinks, which my girlfriend will NOT let me forget, but not a fan of most of the other stuff...-caius (soldier) 21:35, 14 November 2008 (EST)
That's a shame, Ames, I was thinking next time I'm in the city I should take you out for a beer. Well, I guess I can still buy you a Pink Lady or a cosmo. Though I gotta admit, every now and then I like a more "girlie" drink as well. If I'm not drinking ale, scotch, or red wine, I sometimes like some more, well, odd concoctions. One of my favorites is something I made up called "More of the Same" (inspired by Biden, and named for my response when a friend asked what I was drinking). Its contents vary based on what's available, but ideally it has vodka, Bailey's, Kahula, Frangelico, peppermint schnapps, creme de cacao, occasionally a dab of amaretto, and milk. It's not change, but it's tasty. DickTurpis 15:10, 15 November 2008 (EST)
Up here in Ottawa, we've got the Zaphod Beeblebrox club (complete with life-sized painting of the man in the washroom), and yes, they have their own version of the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. Which I happen to have the recipe for. Jack Daniel's, Blue Curacao and Peach Schnapps, with orange juice and Maraschino cherry. Excellent taste, and somehow anesthetizes your face when you drink a few. --Kels 22:26, 15 November 2008 (EST)
Lols! I have been known to have a WHOLE Corona or Pale Moon on occasion....-caius (soldier) 22:29, 15 November 2008 (EST)
Corona? Now there's a girly beer! (I like Corona in the summer, something more sinister the rest of the year) --Kels 22:39, 15 November 2008 (EST)
Wow. A whole Corona? Dude, you are a lightweight. That's it, I'm buying you a Lagavulin, neat. And you'll drink it, too. You too, Kettleticket. DickTurpis 00:47, 16 November 2008 (EST)

Booze suggestions[edit]

Caius, try a gin and bitters. Or at least, put the glass out in front of you and let her taste it. Gin and bitters - bitters lightly coating the inside of the cocktail glass, and then gin. Its, well, strong. Gin and bitters was a creation of the British Navy where you had your gin (fight malaria) and bitters (fight upset stomach). Neither was very pleasant to drink, so they put both in one glass and then drank it in one go. It is also known as 'pink gin' in some places and the color combined with the navy reference makes it popular with people advertising a certain sexuality. That said, it ain't a girly drink. Friend of mine liked strong drinks and had one and slowly drinking it. A woman flirting with him sat down at the bar and asked the bartender for one of what he had. The bartender and my friend smirked and she got one, thinking it was a cosmo or something of that sort. Her face contorted when she drank it didn't expect that flavor.

More seriously, orange juice, gin and apricot brandy make a nice combination. Another good combo is orange juice, peach schnapps and a splash of Makers mark. The second drink is a peach cobbler - the peach and orange blend together well and the whiskey gives a 'crust' flavor to it.

For the person wanting something wine like in the winter, try some mulled wine and cider. Mix together equal parts (or there abouts) cheap red wine and good apple cider. Toss in some mulling spices and heat (some cloves, a stick of cinnamon, some allspice). I prefer cider over water and brown sugar that is often used in mulled wine. Alternatively, cider and brandy is a nice combination.

On the brandy theme, grand mariner mixed with brandy is a nice warm flavor drink that isn't quite as strongly flavored as brandy alone.

interesting to see what goes down while I'm away again. very interesting Silly Mr. Cat 21:31, 15 November 2008 (EST)
I see what you did there. Anyways, for some weirdo cheap drink, try green apple schnapps/vodka and Diet Pepsi (I haven't named it, but it has apparently become my signature drink, unbeknownst to me). You will either love it or hate it, and which category you fall into is completely unrelated to whether you like them separately. Side note: I hated beer until I got a taste of the good stuff. --Arcan ¡ollǝɥ 21:43, 15 November 2008 (EST)
Only American beer I'll touch is Anchor Steam, but it's hard to find up here. Pity you can't get some of the Canadian craft brew stuff, we've got some good ones. --Kels 21:51, 15 November 2008 (EST)
Don't be too down on all American beers just because the major brewers all suck utterly. There are plenty of good microbrews (and your Canadian beers are hardly anything to write home about, except some from Unibrou; do not suffer under any delusions that Molson or Labbats are anything other than moosepiss). Try some Rogue beers, for a start. DickTurpis 00:52, 16 November 2008 (EST)
Now, now. I don't consider Molson or Labbats to be worth a damn either, but there are some really good regional beers, and a few you can get across the country. Kokanee from out west is pretty decent, and pretty much anything out of Great Lakes Brewery is excellent. Creemore Springs makes good stuff, although I don't know if they're national or regional. Worth a shot. --Kels 09:21, 16 November 2008 (EST)
Unibrou? Isn't that what you call it if your eyebrows meet in the middle, like Bert from Sesame Street? weaseLOIdWeaselly.jpg~ 06:59, 16 November 2008 (EST)
Being a SF area person, I'll say "go anchor steam". There appears to be a beer distribution problem with the Mississippi. It is hard to find beer from one side on the other side. East, its easy to find the New York beers in Wisconsin and the Wisconsin beers in South Carolina. But you can't find the west coast beers in Wisconsin. On the left coast, I can't find Wisconsin beer other than the big names (and even then it is hard to find). But I can find Washington and Oregon and Montana beer easily... that I had never seen in Wisconsin. So, that you have difficulty with Anchor Steam in Canada is quite understandable. Side note, I'm not a beer drinker but a cider drinker. Wyders is Canadian (Vancouver)... Distributed from Oakland. My recent favorite though is Red Branch... which is nearly next door. Though, if one doesn't like beer, try some cider. Woodchuck is the brand east of the Mississippi to find. --Shagie 01:38, 16 November 2008 (EST)
Yea.. did what? >.> Nothing happened.. I swear! Err.. well, I tend not to swear, but you know what I mean.
I would only ever try some Schlafly beer.. <.< Silly Mr. Cat 22:15, 15 November 2008 (EST)
If you're ever up in Halifax, Nova Scotia, go to the Granite Brewery. They brew three sorts on the premises, and they're all bloody fantastic. --Kels 22:23, 15 November 2008 (EST)
You all should man/woman up and brew your own beer ... that's the ticket. I got a Cream Ale and a HopNog fermenting away. In about a month I'll have over 100 fresh beers ready to drink. Jrssr5 09:47, 26 November 2008 (EST)
