User talk:Maelen
Good work on the Tao Te Ching article. Your decisions—concerning what to remove and what to add to the article—have been judicious. I look forward to those references which, I trust, will follow in good time. LeucippusSalva veritate 20:55, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

Thanks and sorry for the delay in replying.
I am aware that any assertions made have to be documented in detail, and I'm in the process of doing that right now. It may take up to the end of March, though, since my library was disrupted by a sudden move forced by the COVID epidemic and I'm going to have to replace several books (I'm in the country and not mobile, so I have to buy the books that I need if they're not on line).
There are also some technical questions that I'll have to research in the next few weeks. It's standard practice now, for instance, to use the Hanyu Pinyin system for romanizing Chinese characters, but the article in question employed the obsolete Wade-Giles system. The best solution would be to install an automatic redirect of all searches for "Tao Te Ching" to the "Daodejing" page. I've seen that done many times, of course, but I'm not really sure how to do it myself. Not yet, anyway.
Finally, how do I message you, or anyone, directly? This is going to be posted on my own Talk page. Is that the correct way to communicate?

- You can directly message people at least three ways. The most universal is using the ping template, such as "{{ping|Bongolian}}" to tell me that there is a message for me on a given talk page. Some users have email enabled, and you can also send them a message by going to their home page and looking on the left column for the "Email this user" link. Finally, some users are on Discord and you may be able to find them there, particularly if they say so on their home page. Bongolian (talk) 01:21, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
Autopatrolled[edit]
Because of your edits to and time on the wiki, Autopatrolled has been added to your user rights. This lets you bypass most of the abuse filters, bypass the CAPTCHA, and edit more frequently. If you have questions, bleat ask away.
We hope you enjoy your newfound POWER — and these external tools:
- Google Scholar Button (Chrome, Firefox) searches your highlighted text in Google Scholar. Easily check academic citations!
- web.archive.org and archive.today, among other tools, can save permanent copies of webpages. Never lose a crank website or racist Tweet ever again!
This should allow you to create the draft. If it doesn't let me know. Bongolian (talk) 17:31, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- After you put a draft together, you can post a request for comments on the existing talk page (Talk:Tao Te Ching) or on the Saloon bar. Bongolian (talk) 17:49, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
