Certified Lean Practitioner[edit]
I take this to mean you only serve fat-free foods in your restaurant.
"Sorry, we drain all the fat from the bacon before serving." Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 15:19, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
- Draining isn't fast enough, pal. They haul the bacon out of the oven and
pat it withroll it around on a paper towel before slapping it in front of the customer Just In TimeTM. You're lucky this punk didn't get certified in the nineties, when "lean and mean" was the buzzword. Then, the bacon presentation included sarcastic commentary. Sprocket J Cogswell (talk) 15:35, 24 June 2014 (UTC)- Lol, that's pretty funny. I hadn't thought of it that way. But, no, lean as in Lean manufacturing. Yo dawg[edit]
I heard that you were sober and bored. How's shit going? MĖSSIÅH ØF DØØM And joyously screams out its pain 09:47, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
- Going well, albeit bored. I'm not used to being up this late and having no substances at all (not even caffeine) in my system. I'm 2 weeks in on this whole "No drinking/smoking/coffee/other things for a while" shit that I started as a way to get my health issues under control. Unfortunately, this has made me realize that being awake until 6:00 a.m while stone-cold sober without even so much as coffee or a smoke is terribly boring and actually makes me act like a drunkard. Reckless Noise Symphony (talk) 09:53, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
- That must suck. I understand the boredom and tiredness stuff you're talking about. Studying for exams until 3 am every day for the past couple of weeks has really left me in the same kinda situation. GØØBY PLS The epitome of Gods and Men alike 10:12, 27 June 2014 (UTC)

- Oh, how I wish I was still just a full-time college student. Sure, there's the poverty of the situation to bemoan (or deal with the way that I would), but there's also a certain level of freedom to experiment and think for yourself and a level of error that you are allowed that you don't get once you reach the professional world. If I knew back in college what would happen after college, I would've tried my best to just stay in college. Perhaps, of course, that's a sign that I'm in the wrong profession. - I am a mechanical engineer by trade, though I have currently found myself in the dual role as one of the bosses. I will say that the most curious thing ever in my schooling career was that, in high school, they tell you ever goddamn day, "This is going to prepare you for college." - Oh, I thought I could drop out of society, and had for a while. There are, of course, extenuating circumstances that helped my cause, but I won't get into those. But for about 7 months when I was 19-20, I was an aimless drifter/hobo living off of dumpster diving, train hopping, hitchhiking (yes, it's still a thing), and panhandling. It was an adventure, to be sure. But one of the most dangerous things I've ever done and something that, looking back on it, I will never repeat (until I have a mid-life crisis, of course). - Mmm, that sounds pretty interesting, actually. Being a doctor/medical research has always pretty much been my Plan A since I was about 15, which is what I'm studying for now, but, for a little while, I thought that I was gonna be a lawyer. LQT[edit]
Say that I was to want to apply LQT to my talkpage. How would I go about doing such a thing? I apologise if this info can be found somewhere else- I looked in, like, three places, then gave up. So yeah, could you please help me with this? Thanx br0. GØØBY PLS I know the pieces fit, because I watched them fall away 11:42, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
- A better idea: don't. LQT is not maintained, which means that at some point, an update to MediaWiki may break it. RW's instance was already partially broken by an update (e.g. the toolbar doesn't load). Otherwise, if you are willing to take the risk, the instructions are here: mw:Extension:LiquidThreads #User documentation. It's a good idea to archive the previous contents of your talk page first and provide a link to the archive.
- P.S. Also, this should have been directed towards RationalWiki: Technical support.--ZooGuard (talk) 13:17, 6 July 2014 (UTC)

- If I were you, I'd stay away from LQT. It seemed like a good idea back in the day, but given how unstable it is and the fact that MediaWiki no longer supports it, you're better off avoiding it altogether. Trust me, there is a good reason why I stopped using LQT, even though I had been an huge advocate of switching to it back in the day. Reckless Noise Symphony (talk) 06:00, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

Concerning the New Deal[edit]
"Especially, it must be discussed if you leave no real sources in your edits with which we can fact check your assertions."
Actually, it was sourced extensively. I put in seven new footnotes and multiple graphs and charts.— Unsigned, by: The Honest Intellectual / talk / contribs
- And none of the actual footnotes were very good. Cato Institute as a source? Really? Worse, the reputable sources like Wikipedia didn't help draw the conclusions you were drawing. Hi. Sorry for bothering but at least Brx and I hope a couple others seem to have decided to minimally tolerate my existence for now, and I'm putting up some texts on my talk page. So could you please remove the filters? I promise not to spam crap here and there; if I do you can just ban this account and put the filter back in place I suppose. I'm also already assuming that for now I'm banned from even creating any topics at all in the forum which talk about the topics I've been talking about. Likewise on the Saloon Bar and Chicken Coop, users' talk pages other than my own, etc. I suppose I will limit activity to my own user page, talk page, the "child sexual abuse" page, and the talk page of that. Is that OK? Drotsky (talk) 18:12, 3 August 2014 (UTC)

Troll feeding[edit]One of the charges most often raised against us is that we're an echo chamber, that we silence any dissenting voice, that we're a circle jerk. Say, you're a tech of one stripe or another[edit]
I'm going to try to send you an email to see if it goes through. More details can be found here. Assuming my being unable to email people isn't a deliberate design decision, you might want to tell David Gerard whether you've received it, and possibly assist him in resolving the issue (assuming it's an issue, assuming it's worth resolving, and assuming you and/or DG have the time, capacity, or interest to resolve it. When I assume, it makes an ass out of u and me. Mostly me, you'll be pleased to learn.)
Also, I've successfully emailed you before, with you replying, so I figure this'll make for a half-decent control.
Thank you for fulfilling your accept duties as volunteer tech of some sort (I know you're a tech, but I don't remember if you have server access or other stuff). As a RationalWiki user, I am grateful for the times you have properly used your time and tech powers to benefit the site. I'll listen to a Casualties song in your honor (you like them, right?). And maybe move my head back and forth to the rhythm, cos I'm all rocknroll that way.
While I'm at it, are shorter messages from me more or less painful for you to read? It would help me if I'm looking to be polite and considerate towards you to know. Which I am now. srsly. no joke. like, I haven't insulted you or anything and I've even thanked you and praised you. I'm pretty sure this matches somebody's definition of polite and considerate. Hopefully also yours.--"Shut up, Brx." 17:19, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
- I still am not sure I entirely understand what the fuck you are talking about. So, by that measure, shorter messages that are to the point are much better. Also, I received an e-mail from you in my old e-mail account the other day, but given its contents and the fact that it went to an old e-mail account, I'm not sure if it was spam or not. - You dipshit attention whores realize that Goonie isn't a server admin, right? And since people like you gravitate toward each other, don't you think testing this blessed problem is something you could do amongst yourselves, since nobody else wants to hear from either of you? Nutty Roux (talk) 00:13, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
- Why, thank you for the kind advice, Nutty Roux. But you see, we have already tested it amongst ourselves. That's how we discovered the issue. So then, I tried emailing David Gerard, who is the server admin, and just to be sure, I tried emailing RNS, who I was unsure whether he was the server admin, but I knew he had some sort of role in the proper technical functioning of the site, and figured he wouldn't be terribly bothered by checking to see whether or not he'd received a test email.
- And if the problem does indeed only affect Doom Messiah and I, wouldn't it still be prudent to make sure nobody else is affected? Anyways, out of courtesy to RNS, I suggest you take any further "advice" to my talk page, that we (or rather, I) not annoy him with a conversation that has nothing to do with him. Better yet, you could try emailing me, instead of posting to my talk page! That way you could see if this is indeed a site-wide issue. That, or simply shut the fuck up and go back into hiding instead of trying to make people miserable, you pathetic troll. Whichever you think is a better use of your time.--"Shut up, Brx." 00:26, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

I will try to be succinct[edit]
- My IP address is still blocked because you didn't uncheck the "Block IP" function the last time you blocked me for 24 hours (which was today)
- You removed my sysop rights despite my having agreed to do as David Gerard asked
- Telling you that you are wrong, regardless of whether or not you believe you are wrong, and doing so not by blocking you, but only in the process of unblocking myself does not in any way contribute to a bannable offense, or a reason to remove my sysop rights.
You don't like me? Fine. But just because you don't like somebody doesn't mean you get to erase them from the wiki.
Please restore my sysop rights, thank you.-brxbrx00:42, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

Being a self-rightous asshole when you were clearly wrong about something that is the essence of serious business on this Wiki is conduct unbecoming a sysop in my book. Alas, I'll let the moderators decide that one. Reckless Noise Symphony (talk) 00:47, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

- I am going to restore sysop rights since this is a ridiculous abuse of your power RNS. No matter how annoying you find Brx he clearly admitted he was wrong and had moved on. Stop trying to bully a user off the site, your tactics are nowhere near as subtle or surreptitious as it seems you think they are. Tielec01 (talk) 01:56, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
- Do you even know what you're talking about, moron? No, Brxbrx was trying to keep something up on talk:Kevin Martin that was being taken down because of the possible legal ramifications. After numerous people pointed this out to him, he got indignant and mouthed off the everybody. Nowhere have I seen him admit that he's wrong. And the fact that he was wrong about something very serious and still will not only not admit that he was wrong, but blames the people who said it was wrong it the only reason I see him as unfit for being a sysop. As I said right above me, I took it to the moderator's page so they can sort it out. Reckless Noise Symphony (talk) 02:12, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
- You want me to admit I'm wrong? Is that what this is about? brx with a facefull of humble pie? Well, if what wasn't posted here and on T:ATIM isn't enough, then here you go:
- I was wrong. I was incorrect. What I thought Nutty Roux was doing was not actually what he was doing. I should not have reverted him. I should not have reverted him a second time. I should not have even entered into the discussion he reverted.
- If I had a webcam, and a hat, I'd upload a youtube video of me eating my hat. I. Was. Wrong. I admit that.--"Shut up, Brx." 02:23, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, I know what I'm talking about. Would I be right to remove your sysop powers simply because I thought you are behaving poorly here and started a topic on the moderators page? Of course not. You dislike Brx, that doesn't mean you get to remove his sysop rights. Tielec01 (talk) 02:17, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
- This has NOTHING to do with whether or not I like the guy. He made a bad decision about something that had bad legal ramifications for the RMF, and is unsympathetic about making such a bad call. If you want to foot the RMF's legal bill as a result of that bad judgement call, then be my guest. In the meanwhile, it shows that he doesn't have good enough judgement to represent their interests on this site as an administrator. Reckless Noise Symphony (talk) 02:20, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

Am I blocked for being a Korean anti-Semite?[edit]
If so, it's a bit strange, considering that I'm a Swedish Judeophile. Now, you can't really be faulted for not knowing of my philo-Semitism, but the fact that I'm Swedish is pretty obvious considering the fact that I sign with my IP.

- It just frustrates me to see wiki contributors ostensibly dedicated to rationalism fail to even consider ideas that fall outside certain parochial Western dogmas that have absolutely nothing to do with science. I don't waste time on Conservapedia or Stormfront or other sites that are explicitly pro-idiocy, but I just had this naïve hope that I could appeal to rationality on a site with the word "rational" in it. I guess I'm a tad too literal-minded to handle the Internet. 213.113.116.240 (talk) 13:06, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
- As a general in a technical war here, it would be idiotic of me to tip my hand as to my strategy. However, rest assured that once my filter program is complete, you'll have a much harder time editing here. - Well, your blatant anti-rationalism is refreshing in its honesty. But are you seriously still trying to tell me that I am in fact an anti-Semitic Korean? Because yesterday was the first time I ever wrote anything on this site. And I'm Swedish. 213.113.116.240 (talk) 19:59, 10 November 2014 (UTC)

- I was blocked with the motivation simply being "Mikemikev", which I assumed was the name of this Korean person. It's possible that the block was issued by someone else, but you were the one who shut down the discussion on "racial realism". In any case, the pointlessly hostile and anti-intellectual treatment I've been getting on this site speaks volumes about the integrity of its contributors. You're completely uninterested in objective facts and the best available research. Oh, and you're not some "general" in a "war". - The talkpage being locked had nothing to do with you personally and had to do with me testing some things to get rid of a troll. I apologize if you were an unfortunate casualty of that, and I did see there were false positives, whis is why I ceased doing it. Everything from there on out was a total misunderstanding, on my part, of what you were talking about, compounded by the fact that I was not near my PC during the start of it, couldn't easily access anything to double check some things, and thought you were originally referring to an Abuse Filter that went after only known trolling IPs. I apologize, again, for y he misunderstanding, but you can't blame me for being confused by a bunch of technical factors. Reckless Noise Symphony (talk) 20:59, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

Well firstly, I'm not the Swedish IP. Not everyone that ridicules your far-left pseudoscientific PC extremism under the hypocritical banner of self proclaimed "rationalism" is me. Second, I absolutely am here to discuss. You lot are the ones removing my comments and blocking me, while again hypocritically accusing me of avoiding debate. The reality, as you know, is that you can't debate me. You can't stand up to actual science. And sadly hitting the easy target of creationism doesn't qualify you for that, you dime store Aristotle. You people are guilty of exactly what you claim to oppose. What crass dishonesty. And as for being a "general" in a "war", Jesus H. Christ. Could you be any more delusional? 218.232.69.11 (talk) 06:56, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- Absolute bullshit. We've been "debating" you here for years, but after so many years of you trolling our pages and not listening to anything but your own voice, we are tired of you. Hell, even Metapedia got tired of you and your dick-waving. You don't seek to debate anybody, you seek to listen to your own delusional voice at best and troll us (and Metapedia, and Wikipedia) at worst. Your time here, meine fruend (just like at Metapedia and Wikipedia) is up. You clearly have no interest in intelligent dialogue or listening to any point of view that isn't your own. "Tedious Crackpot Spam"[edit]
What does that mean when you use it to remove stuff? It's pretty vague.--ReptoidKiller (talk) 08:34, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
- In the context in which it was used against you, it means "I'm a disgrace to this Wiki because I'd rather not try to debate you." Thus, it's vague because it's used in a manner which is not constructive to this Wiki's stated mission. As a result, I went ahead and undid much of what had been done to your edits, especially since I sought to have the debate you wanted. I apologize on behalf of the Wiki for the abuses that were lobbed at you. Reckless Noise Symphony (talk) 08:41, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
- "Tedious Crackpot Spam" would be a legitimate point to be made about gish gallops and purely copy-pasted arguments. While I think you're right to replace his edits, I would warn ReptoidKiller that it does take effort to research these theories and so it would be impolite to post too many at once. We will answer questions, but we ask that you do not abuse this. --TiaC (talk) 08:52, 1 December 2014 (UTC) (Edited)
- I would edit that just a little and say that you should be careful not to start numerous arguments on numerous topics at once. While people like me are more than tolerant of such things, there is always the risk of ruffling feathers. Reckless Noise Symphony (talk) 09:07, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
- You're quite right, fixed. It bears mentioning that people will be more willing to answer questions if you present your questions as an honest desire to learn. I think your odd formatting may have hurt this and caused editors to assume that you were merely copy-pasting arguments you weren't invested in. --TiaC (talk) 09:18, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
