Ha! Somehow or another, I have found this site! I am some crazy punk rock kid and neo-pagan with a computer and an ample supply of Jolt Cola!!! Victory is mine!!! My most recent victory is: I vandalized Bill O'Reilly's conservapedia article to say simply that he is a right-wing nut job and compulsive liar!!!
- He alse refers to himself in the third person. Hey, Gooner, please sign talk page comments with four tildes, like this: ~~~~ - that will automatically put your user name and timestamp after your comment. Also, can you try to make sure that when you add stuff to pages that they don't already say it or imply it strongly? Thanks and, again, welcome! How cold is it there today? human 14:51, 22 January 2008 (EST)
The Goonie 1 14:59, 22 January 2008 (EST)Thanks for the tips, by the way. As stated, I drink WAY too much Jolt Cola, so I tend to get carried away sometimes. By the way, it's WAY too cold for anybody up here. Global warming can't come fast enough for me (just kidding).
- You're welcome. By the way, put the tildes at the end, not the beginning, or you'll confuse the shit out of people. You know GW might make it colder where you are, right? human 15:18, 22 January 2008 (EST)
Again, thanks for the hints (this is the first time I have ever attempted to contribute to something like this). In all actuality, I think Rep. Michelle Bachmann is what is causing this cold snap, because it started after she said that Minnesotans are the "hardest working set" of Americans because more of us work 2 jobs or work more than 40 hour work weeks. Plus, she just looks like something out of a horror movie anyway.
- You forgot to sign with the four tildes. Also, I would recommend lurking a bit before going nuts with editing - se how we do things, etc. Not that you're not welcome to dive in, but I'd like to think that by the time you do, you "know your way around". human 20:58, 22 January 2008 (EST)
- The sad thing is, she probably thought it was praise. --Gulik 20:52, 23 January 2008 (EST)
Yeah, you're probably right. The main reason I joined was because there were soooo many articles on things and people I consider important that were missing from rationalwiki. For example, i couldn't find any articles on my late hero: Paul Wellstone. The Goonie 1 03:15, 23 January 2008 (EST)
- I "redlinked" his name for you - follow the link and you'll be writing the article. I would recommend finding a similar article (another politician, say) and clicking "edit" to see some of the formatting things that should be included. But knock yourself out and write it. Try to include any science vs. pseudoscience and that sort of thing that you can, to tie it to our rather loosely enforced "mission" (see the main page for that). human 11:03, 23 January 2008 (EST)
Will do. Trust me, I plan on making my page on Wellstone as grand as I can. The Goonie 1 20:31, 23 January 2008 (EST)
- Awesome! I also note your experimentation (on your user page). A very good thing. human 21:21, 23 January 2008 (EST)
Sandboxing[edit]
If you want to experiment, build articles, test your wiki markup skillz, etc., you can easily create places that are "off the beat" to do so. Here is an example of how: User:Gooniepunk2005/sandbox. See, it's in your "user space", so no one gives a dang what you do there, but you can build an entire article safely from interference and embarrassment (due to typos, lernin' wiki skillz, etc.) in a space like that. And if you feel the need for more space, just replace "sandbox" with whatever you want and go to town. I do eagerly await your Paul Wellstone article... And if you're struggling with the wiki crap, feel free to ping me on my talk page with any questions. human 21:21, 23 January 2008 (EST)
- Will do. And, again, I can't thank you enough for your help. The Goonie 1 02:33, 24 January 2008 (EST)
- HA! I have updated my user page, and I think I am finally getting the hang of all this wiki stuff. The Goonie 1 14:41, 24 January 2008 (EST)
- Very cool. Also, observe here how we use colons to indent talk page comments. I hope The Goonie 1 is enjoying his caffeine-enhanced time on RW! Oh, and you're welcome. If we didn't help out the newcomers we'd never get any more friends! human 15:11, 24 January 2008 (EST)
- HA! I have updated my user page, and I think I am finally getting the hang of all this wiki stuff. The Goonie 1 14:41, 24 January 2008 (EST)
Redirecting[edit]
I saw that you tried to redirect Neopagans to Neopaganism. For future reference, a smoother, automatic redirect can be created by typing #REDIRECT[[article name here]]. It only works if there is nothing else on the page, though. Have at it! -- Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 15:49, 24 January 2008 (EST)
- Also, if you are making a link/new article, it's best to use the singular (neopagan). Leave the s outside the link and it will get colored as well: neopagans. human 15:53, 24 January 2008 (EST)
- Ah ha! So that's how you redirect stuff! Good, because then I can (just for fun) have certain things redirect to my userpage (such as caffeine addict).
I won't go overboard, I promise. The Goonie 1 11:44, 25 January 2008 (EST)

Nice to bump into another loyal fan - where/how do you listen to the show? By the way :( I reverted the Cheney nickname joke back to ours (Dick "Dick"...). Hmm, maybe we should just add a "nicknames" section? ħuman 21:19, 20 April 2009 (EDT)

It wasn't you I was talking about, you were blocking a user who couldn't unblock themself. ħuman 00:34, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

due to preparing for my band's first ever show.[edit]
Best of luck. Is it still on? ħuman 08:34, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
- It's still on, but we are to the point where we aren't soooo goddamn nervous that we are holding practice every hour of every day. We've toned it down to where I have freetime again. The Goonie 1 08:36, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
- Excellent! Now get nervous and practice every day again! These things go in phases - confidence, fear, confidence, fear - you should ideally play on the "fear" cycle. You'll be much better. ħuman 08:45, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
- Sounds like my band before our first show. My knees were knocking but after a few songs, I felt great. 40-some shows later, it is nothing to get out in front of people and rip their fucking faces off... Aboriginal Noise Punkrock 19:29, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

- What band would you liken your band's sound to, anyways? Aboriginal Noise Punkrock 21:21, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- Probably, I'd liken us to Star Fucking Hipsters without the female vox. Otherwise, our sound is pretty unique. The Goonie 1 23:04, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- Sweet! My (former) band had a lot of Misfits and old Social D influence. We started adding some songs resembling TSOL and Verbal Abuse toward the end. Anyhow, is the show still upcoming or has it already passed? If it hasn't passed yet, best of luck. One thing I noticed about playing live is that you, the musician are more critical of yourself than anyone in the crowd is going to be. Aboriginal Noise Punkrock 23:38, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

- Sorry if I flipped you off, it is just kind of annoying when you are trying to write and you suddenly are hit with that pink box. - π 04:21, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- ACtually, I just need to make the brilliant comeback I had on the top of my head before I forgot it (goatta love ADD), but I did block myself again afterwards, and I did actually sit that one out. As far as the sugar goes, it's too much sodapop and energy drinks for meThe Goonie 1 (talk) 04:24, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

- Really, they didn't get further than the door before the owners called up everyone from the show to "Show them out". A bunch of drunken hicks spewing their "White power" line, as usual. I didn't really get to converse with them, except for shouting them down. Btw, there is NO SUCH THING as a Nazi punk, it's just a metaphor borrowed from the Dead Kennedys. The Goonie 1 (talk) 04:25, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

In all actuallity, there really probably isn't very many Nazis around these parts (south Minneapolis) due to the high composure of all sorts of minorities, I think them being here would be, and is, a losing battle. But I do here there is a lot of racist flyering going on recently in Eden Prarie and Shakopee. The Goonie 1 (talk) 04:28, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Hey dude[edit]
Hope the face-related surgery went well. Enjoy the pain pills while they last! SJ Debaser 10:18, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- Oh yeah. I'm enjoying that and the fact that, for the next 2 weeks, I can't eat solid food (just whatever I can sip through a straw). Anyways, thanks for concern. The Goonie 1 (talk) 16:38, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- One thing I've realised recently is that time stops for no one. You'll be eating solids before you know it mate. SJ Debaser 18:36, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- I look at it this way: I need to lose weight, and according to the oral surgeon, I'm expected to lose up to 25 pounds due to not being able to eat solids, so I will probably look back at this in some strange way as a good thing (although having my jaw rubberbanded shut isn't all it's cracked up to be).
- Having painful stuff done to your mouth is always fun. I had braces a few years ago and there was a stage where I needed to wear rubber fucking bands for about three months. Although yours is no doubt more painful consistently than my braces were, at least it's only for 2 weeks. SJ Debaser 10:54, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

- Oh, I know. Except that I do have braces, as well, so I know where you are coming from. The thing is, I have/had a really bad crossbite and some other "issues" with my jaw alignment, and the surgery was to fix most of them, but the braces are to guide the process. I will still have braces for at least another year. I swear, braces are just the dentists' form of BDSM.The Goonie 1 (talk) 21:55, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

- Ah, who wants to be a bureaucrat these days, anyway? Being a sysop is fun enough for me for the time being, and sysops are, literally, the backbone of this site. Besides, I don't think that Pi is fond of anyone. The Goonie 1 (talk) 21:24, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
I was just kidding around, Pi. The first thing people learn about me is that I poke fun at everyone, including myself. I dish it out well, but I'm also not afaid to be the butt of someone's lick's, either. The Goonie 1 (talk) 21:03, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Fall up[edit]
Blocking a random sock for 2 hours isn't going to stop him from cycling through proxies to get past the vandal brake on his main account. 22:15, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- Alrighty, I was just trying to prevent wandalism by attempting to block a possible outlet for Fall down. As I've stated before, though (when dealing with MC), I have seldom dealt with wandals, so I look to you that do for guidance on doing so. Cheers, mate. The Goonie 1 (talk) 22:26, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- A quick block to stop them in their tracks while you figure out how to use the bin isn't going to do much harm. It's slightly quicker as you can do it from the recent changes dialogue. Though you also have to remember that FD rarely signs into the accounts he made, prefering just to proxy up and do it again so it makes little to no difference. d hominem 22:40, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- Again, that's why I look to you guys. Up until today, the only wandal I dealt with was MarcusCicero during his last rampage, so I really have no experience in that area. The Goonie 1 (talk) 22:44, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- Look up to us... oh dear. I wouldn't. Anyway, it's just a case of getting the hang of the software and finding where the bin is. Sometimes it feels like you need to act fast, but remember, most proxies give you crap speed so they'll probably only be editing once every few minutes. So relax, have a biscuit and RTM. d hominem 22:54, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- Seriously, don't look to me. I'm the one who blocked MC for 9 hours while I was fixing his nonsense and then unblocked him within 5 minutes, thereby appropriately earning his ire for breaking policy. Short blocks for actual misconduct are best in my world. Nothing preemptive really works for the reason Armondikov stated. 22:57, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

- Again, that's why I look to you guys. Up until today, the only wandal I dealt with was MarcusCicero during his last rampage, so I really have no experience in that area. The Goonie 1 (talk) 22:44, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Sounds good. That'll be my approach from now on.The Goonie 1 (talk) 22:59, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- Prior to the vandal brake getting used more consistently and properly, a few users used to pre-empt quite a bit with the Fred wandals. One would appear and then the Fred 2, Fred 3 etc. would get sequentially blocked... didn't work either. Still, there's nothing wrong with short to medium blocks if you just want to get someone out of the way for a little while (providing they're not sysoped and can get passed it easily). d hominem 23:00, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Star Fucking Hipsters[edit]

- Basically, Biafra's accounting error led to the band (including Jello himself) not receiving proper royalties. Ray used that as an opening to sue Alternative Tentacles (Biafra's label) for the right to the Dead Kennedys so that he and DH Peligro could go commercial with the band. The courts sided with East Bay Ray, and the punk community (at least in the US) in general considers East Bay Ray and the other ex-Dead Kennedys to be traitors now.Lord of the Goons (talk) 23:23, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
- They were a way bigger band in America than Britain s'far as I'm aware as the British movement was quite Sex Pistols-centric and didn't last long into the 1980s. East Bay Ray had always had commercial ambitions though... by the by my yankie chum, aren't you supposed to be at band practice? SJ Debaser 23:26, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, I am at band practice. Look up the song "Those Dumb Punk Kids Will Buy Anything" by Jello Biafra and the Melvins. It's basically Jello's take on what happened with him and the rest of the Dead Kennedys. Anyways, back to playing the bass.Lord of the Goons (talk) 00:06, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Why? I know they're already in the bin, but that is evidently not enough of a hint to fuck off. The block I made would stop them making two edits, which will be two edits less that need reversion. SuspectedReplicant (talk) 21:34, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

As a wind enthusiast, you'll enjoy this humorous tale of farting. Staff party the other night (as I'm leaving next week for university I got irresponsibly drunk and didn't got to bed til about 6AM) and I was outside having a sneaky ciggy with my mate, and just as we went outside he blew a big old fart out. Needless to say we both laughed uproariously for a few minutes afterwards due to elevated alcohol blood content, and I enjoyed it particularly as it was in the immediate wake of my fart article. But when Toast is threatening to vandal bin someone who, while they may not be the greatest editor here, seems to be, at least, well meaning with their edits, than I would rather take the time to show them the way and telling them how we want things done here rather than get pissed off and start getting mad. I remember (and you can still find on this very talkpage) when I started out and knew nothing about how to edit a wiki. Hell, at least JacobPatt can sign his name with ~~~~. I couldn't even do that. - I've never seen that movie funnily enough. My old girlfriend always went on about how great it was but I could never be asked to watch it. Halloween's a lot bigger in America than England though. That said, I can't wait for Halloween at Uni. Something tells me it will be a night to remember (although i'll probably forget it). SJ Debaser 18:39, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- Halloween is gonna be fuckin' busy for me. My band has a house party to play, it's my sister's birthday, I'm going to a late-night (about midnight) thingy I won't talk about (I won't discuss my religion on RationalWiki), and (if I can) I have to get around to downtown St. Paul for the local band Big Fuckin' Skull's big fuckin' Halloween party. Have fun at your university's Halloween stuff, though. Cheers! Lord Goonie Hooray! I'm helping! 18:42, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- Indeed I will. I'll let you know how it goes, and let me know how the gigs are. Thanks for the tea. SJ Debaser 19:14, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
- Your welcome. Oh, and if you have common sense, you'll avoid the HCM debates about blocking MC, which (in my opinion) just feed his bullshit. Lord of the Goons The official spikey-haired skeptical punk 19:24, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
- Browsing just now I found a couple of them in the Saloon Bar - tbh I'm not active enough atm to get involved in debates, and at any rate, I've always generally avoided "trolls" if that's the easiest thing to stick on MC. I actually left Liberapedia officially last week. SJ Debaser 19:29, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

- There aren't any regular long time editors there in the same way that there are here. Proxima Centauri has been the longest one for about 2 years, Ajuk still pops his head round the door every now and then, but I think that's about it. There's one or two editors there who've joined in the last couple of months, but that's it. I just didn't have time for both sites, and I was hardly on LP anyway, so I thought I might as well make it official and resign. SJ Debaser 19:41, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

I'm having a great time at uni, i've been pretty substantially drunk every night for the last week, but now the actual course starts on Tuesday, so I'm gonna have to tone down the drinkering... Makes sense. Kinda like how I am over at WikiSynergy these days, although I never was a big time editor over there anyways. As of late, I've been on and off over here; on for hours one day and not even looking at it for days after. Part of that is that, like you, I've just gotten too busy to spend time here; with my band, a new girlfriend and the like. Lord of the Goons The official spikey-haired skeptical punk 19:44, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
- I know what you mean. Thing is, with me on LP it was before I found RationalWiki, and the sign up was because of Conservapedia. Congrats on the new chica, there's nothing quite like being in a relationship where you both truly care about each other (not that I know the ins and outs of yours obv!) I broke up with my girlfriend cuz of uni, but we're still friends. SJ Debaser 19:50, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
A collection of pop classics.[edit]
Listening to Reagan Youth - A Collection Of Pop Classics. Really liking the track "One Holy Book". Ace McWickedThe Liquid Room 21:03, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

The same way we do in America, by democracy. I get to do dishes for a week, then my little sister, then dad. And please do remember to practice safe sex, or I'll sick my mom on you!(she's a neonatal educator( who goes on and on about it until I want to scream!))OpalHonors 14:20, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Mike Malloy read my email on the air!
"Don't forget to mention that the "Project" on Conservapedia was initiated by its founder, none other than Andrew Schlafly - son of Phyllis Schlafly, and co-editor of the Harvard Law Review with Barack Obama [(check their article on BHO for a laugh or three...) skipped over] - of course, Barack was elected President of the HLR, and a few more things later in life.
Andrew, however, is now censoring the Bible with a handful of homeschoolers and wing nuts.
We watch and track many of the goings-on at CP at RationalWiki.org, among other more worthy pastimes."
I screwed up our url, but RW.org goes straight to RW.com. He even said my name and mentioned my humanthoughts.org website. ħuman 01:44, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

- You need a drink. I used to have this bottle of Raki that I brought from some crazy old Greek in Crete. It was like 80% and I kept it in the fridge for insomnia. 2 shots and pow. AceMcWicked 03:26, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
- I bought four cans of beer earlier (Grolsch - I'm into that now, you can get a four pack from my local shop for about £4.50) and i drank em all before i went out this evening about 6 hours ago. i have a bottle of WKD, but i don't think that'd do the trick - something stronger like vodka.
