Yea, my initial exposure to it was when Ed Brown decided to play fortress and been easing my way into it. All ready have my fair share of encounters with those crazies! tmtoulouse beleaguer 19:06, 18 December 2007 (EST)

Er, welcome back?[edit]

Wow, I haven't seen you since... actually, I've never seen you. Yet you've been here for many, many moons. Hiding yourself from me—sneaky bastard, aren't you? Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 20:10, 22 October 2008 (EDT)

Lawyering[edit]

I have also handled Title VII cases, as well as come to not enjoy practicing law, particularly in my main practice area of consumer law. Dealing with lawyers who represent car dealers and debt collectors is demoralizing and it makes me despair for the legal system that they can get away with what they do. Dealing with employers and individual defendants in hostile work environment cases makes me feel like I need to take a shower. Hope you're enjoying your new path. Nutty Roux (talk) 23:10, 18 January 2015 (UTC)

Right now, I'm mostly handling parental rights cases - usually for indigent mothers who have had their children taken into custody by the state. Some of them are abusive, but most of them have mental or behavioral issues which would be curable in a country with a proper mental health care system. In some respects, that could be considered a "social justice" issue, in that the people I represent are typically poor, uneducated, and unable to effectively navigate the legal system. It's a problem which transcends racial barriers - I've had clients of all races, and the pattern is almost always the same: lack of appropriate parental role models, mental health/substance abuse issues, one or more parent has a criminal record, etc. --Wet Walnuts (talk) 00:40, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
