Add source[edit]
I added a new claim in the PETA section. Can someone add a source?--Delibirda (talk) 08:57, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
Dexit[edit]
This seems off-mission? While a big deal within the fandom, it has nothing to do with the science/politics focus of this wiki. And it's an overlong rant--72.35.97.151 (talk) 02:45, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
- Agreed. I have removed it, thanks.—127.0.0.1 (talk • stalk) 03:13, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
- While you're right about it being off-mission, I did put hours of my time and soul into that bit. Maybe we could just have the first paragraph I wrote included as a brief mention? I mean, it's kind of hard not to mention when we have a section titled 'Controversies' for Pokemon. Any reader who comes upon this page is going to be like, "Where's the Dexit section?". Additionally, we could move the rest of the article that I worked on to a Fun article and link it in there somehow. Would that be okay? Cumulus Discuss 04:53, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
- I think personal opinion on those kinds of gamig-related controversies that are nonmissional can be kept to funspace or your own userpage. --It's-a me, LeftyGreenMario! 03:47, 24 December 2019 (UTC)
- Sooo... perhaps we could put what I wrote in funspace, and then put a link to that article under 'See Also' on the Pokemon page? And like in one sentence under 'Miscellaneous' briefly mention Dexit, with Dexit linking to my article or in parentheses including a link i.e. (for more about that see our Fun article on it)? Good that it is removed. Too many problems.--Deli-delibirda! (talk) 15:08, 25 December 2019 (UTC)
- How could it be improved? Cumulus Precipitation 05:45, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
- Removal of baseless accusations(Greed n' stuff), subjective stuff presented as objective(whether or not the previous graphics were horrible, whether or not the gimmicky features were good or not, etc.), and I can't think of more, now.--Deli-delibirda! (talk) 09:03, 2 January 2020 (UTC)
Citation for the Black & White(Washing) Section[edit]
Does anybody have a citation? I know it happened, but I want to see it cited... because it sounds funny for the truth of the article. It's Farmhand, BTW! (talk) 20:48, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
@Farmhand Here's a few sources: Original: https://twitter.com/Evulart/status/1141854858280079360 Archive: https://web.archive.org/web/20190621031932/https://twitter.com/Evulart/status/1141854858280079360 69.62.132.74 (talk) 06:36, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
Uri Geller controversy[edit]
Apparently, Geller had uphold some sort of "ban" from Abra & it's evolutions being printed on pokemon cards, because he thinks that Kadabra was created to "mock" him, until 2020. Would this be on mission, we do have an article on this con artist. Arcadium Trancefer (talk) 18:11, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
Pokémon is offensive to the furry fandom[edit]
It's about enslaving furries for their own personal benefit, and most people enjoy watching them "beat[...] the crap out of each other to the point of being knocked unconscious" (X 1). Discuss. 2603:8080:A800:7DBA:C7:EE48:5BB3:2CE4 (talk) 01:48, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- This is a piss-poor attempt at trolling. A somebody. (talk) 15:38, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- The established lore of the franchise indicates that Pokémon actively enjoy testing their strength against each other every now and again. Make all the comparisons to cockfighting that you want, but at least the Pokémon are explicitly able to give informed consent to it! Jeebers. --Luigifan18 (talk) 16:37, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
Pokémon Shock[edit]
I seem to recall that the item referred to as "Pokémon Shock" in this article was actually an example of mass hysteria and has been reported as such. Rewording the section to refer to it as such would do something to move the article on-mission.Bob"Life is short and (insert adjective)" 17:53, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
