ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ Hello.

Oh, and please don't forget to sign posts on Talk and Discussion pages by sticking four tildes "~~~~" at the end of your message after a space. That tells the wiki to add your signature to a post. That way, we can tell who wrote what since it doesn't do it automatically, y'know? :) ℕoir LeSable (talk) 17:11, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

It might also be good to look at the dates of the conversations you are adding to. The newest is from August, while most ended in 2012. -EmeraldCityWanderer (talk) 18:22, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
Thank you, I've gotten to work on signing all of my edits. I'm aware that most of those conversations are old at this point but I saw several (awful) statements that hadn't been directly addressed, which is why I even made an account. BonzoTheBear (talk) 18:30, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

I'm afraid that it's extremely unlikely that anyone'll read your comments, interspersed as they are mostly in the middle of other talk sections, especially after they've dropped off "Recent changes". Might be better to start a new section to give all your opinions. Scream!! (talk) 18:56, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
I added comments the way I did because I thought it would be less awkward than starting a new section to respond to things that were being said above. I'm aware that nobody is likely to see my comments regardless, but I thought that was the best way to make those talk pages less infuriating. If I knew how I would pitch a page responding in depth to the arguments of the "they're faking it" crowd as well as the (in my opinion) terrible arguments laid out in The Myth of Mental Illness and some of Szasz's other work, which is actually what I came here looking for in the first place. I know that something like that sort of exists but it appears to be lacking in detail. I also think that, if we could find someone actually competent to submit counter-arguments, a page that shows them side-by-side like on the morality of abortion page would be a great idea. What is mental health denialism?[edit]

And do we currently do a good job of covering it? Avengerofthe BoN (talk) 20:42, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

That made me exhale through my nose. Could become a potential Fun page? Reverend Black Percy (talk) 13:40, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
Wait; how do you normally exhale? Avengerofthe BoN (talk) 16:13, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
It happened again! Reverend Black Percy (talk) 19:26, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
That's a really good question. I guess in an nutshell mental health denialsm is the stance that something being "in your head" means that it isn't real and that people with mostly invisible problems like social anxiety or chronic depression are just faking it for some reason. I think the wiki is doing an okay job but it really lacks any definitive debunking like it has for things like creationism. BonzoTheBear (talk) 03:08, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
I think you missed the joke here, Bonzo. Your userpage reads "Mental health denialism", not mental illness denialism as you clearly meant (an important topic!). So Avenger pointed it out jokingly, as if you meant that you were here to oppose some kind of movement that denies that anyone is sane or happy - mental health deniers. All the best, Reverend Black Percy (talk) 05:07, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
That was intentional, but I can change it if it doesn't make sense. I used the term mental health denialism instead of mental illness denialism because mental illness denialists usually dismiss the entire concept of mental health, since something that doesn't exist can't be healthy. BonzoTheBear (talk) 17:56, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
I guess that was the first unintentional joke of mine here on RW... Avengerofthe BoN (talk) 18:14, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
