- I think Kels may have been referring to Cracklin' Rosie. Lily Thank you very much! 13:59, 1 March 2008 (EST)
- Aah! of course! I remember now - eggselent song. SusanThe Earth Moved
- Actually, I was referring to the Clanceys, who did the version I'd originally heard of it. I suppose you're referring to the original. It was definitely the same song, and I've never heard "The Scaffold" in my life, so work it out from there, eh? --Kels 14:05, 1 March 2008 (EST)
- Other possibility is my memory is faulty, and I'm remembering an Irish Rovers cover of it, but it's still the same song. --Kels 14:06, 1 March 2008 (EST)
- Oh the Clancy Brothers! Yes them micks did a cover of the Scaffold. Lily Thank you very much! 14:11, 1 March 2008 (EST)

- Say, it ain't the Clancey's or the Scaffold, but have you seen this? It's amazing. --Kels 14:34, 1 March 2008 (EST)
- Apropos of nothing, Kels, I used to hang out with Tommy Makem's boys as they honed their musical chops at an open mic night I used to frequent. Hi Lily! Welcome to the Dollhouse! human 14:53, 1 March 2008 (EST)

IKEA[edit]
As a matter of fact, I have... vaguely followed the dispute. However, personally I've already been insulting IKEA for years, so I figure it's only fair. ;-) --AKjeldsenGodspeed! 19:09, 25 March 2008 (EDT)
Now you're thinking with proxies[edit]
Your remark re:proxies has got me to finally do what I've been intending to do for more than half a year: start my 'how to use proxies, and generally be a menace' article. It's by no means finished, but it does contain a 'how to use proxies' section. Enjoy. --מְתֻרְגְּמָן שְׁלֹום

Browser?[edit]
I just noticed this on your "KTD talk" screencap... What browser do you use? The icon is strangely unfamiliar to me, but if I had to guess, I'd say it's Mozilla maybe? Just idly curious... --Sid 07:32, 21 April 2008 (EDT)
- It's called Maxthon (see maxthon.com) and I've used it for yonks. It runs on top of the IE engine but you can also use Gecko. It's handling of tabs is much better than IE or Firefox. You can save URLS as a group and open them all with one click. So I have different groups for RW and CP as well as my other interests. For RW I can open my talk page, WIGO, TWIGO, and Recent Changes in one go and have them tiled on screen. There are several add-ons as well. It used to be called MyIE and there is a new version 2 but I still use 1.6 as I'm used to it. Lily Ta, wack! 07:45, 21 April 2008 (EDT)
- Ah, interesting, thanks! I think I heard the name, but that's pretty much it... might look into it later. --Sid 07:53, 21 April 2008 (EDT)

I see somebody reads the funny pages. =D --Kels 12:20, 21 April 2008 (EDT)
- I like to show off my worldliness. But I only read them when I get US newspapers or find the odd strip on teh intertubes. I don't know of any syndication for GF in the UK. Lily Ta, wack! 12:36, 21 April 2008 (EDT)
- I've been reading it here for quite a while now, although there are a lot of webcomics (like Questionable Content, The Adventures of Dr. McNinja or my friend's paean to Sailor Moon, Tenth Charm) that hold my interest much better. Unfortunately, my own poor attempt at webcomicing is on indefinite hiatus at the moment, while I actually learn to draw. --Kels 12:50, 21 April 2008 (EDT)
- Bohdan reminds me of the cat in GF... or is it vice versa? human 13:02, 21 April 2008 (EDT)
- Actually, Bucky reminds me of a combination of Andy, Koward and TeamKiller. Delusional, violent, confrontational and really not very bright. Bodhan...I can't really see a good comic analogy for him off the top of my head..maybe Indie Rock Pete? --Kels 13:19, 21 April 2008 (EDT)

Thanks very much for the offer of more PCs. I've tried contacting your brother but his mobile seems to be switched off. Are you sure he can supply 350 units? It seems like a lot. GenghisRationalWiki GOLD member 16:32, 10 May 2008 (EDT)
- If you SMS him he'll ring you back Sunday morning. He's in IT supervising the hardware burn-in of a new computer centre for a major insurance company in Manchester. They have over 350 PCs and he reckons it will be a good test of their security. Evidently everything is wiped and re-imaged before release so he's quite happy about it, especially when I told him how homophobic they are, he even said he might have a few contacts in London who could help out. Lily Ta, wack! 18:43, 10 May 2008 (EDT)

- I'm sorry to say that Lily, having used the name "Pink" for well over seven months now, probably has the superior claim to it. I even seem to recall there is some fancy legal phrase for this, but I'll be damned if I can remember what it is. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 18:51, 23 September 2008 (EDT)

- Don't try and duck out of the debate, you cunning, evil dragon! I demand you expain yourself. Don't worry about the lawyerisms; I'll just bite down on this piece of wood while you're talking. Pink(Astronomy Domine) 19:57, 23 September 2008 (EDT)
- Okay. To make this mercifully short, a username is basically just like a trademark. It establishes an identity for a certain entity, whether a business or a site user. And just like a trademark is a form of intellectual property and protected by law, it can be argued that a username is covered by a sort of "Internet customary law" - you can't just show up at a site and assume someone else's username and identity. However, much like trademark protection is limited to those territories where a business does or can be reasonably expected to do business, the customary protection of a user name is necessarily limited to a single site at a time. While I "own" the identity of "AKjeldsen" here on RW, that doesn't prevent others from registering an account under the same name on other sites. I can't do anything about that, but on the other hand, they can't come here and claim the name on the basis of their registrations at other sites, either.

Wfg's Sig[edit]
The carriage return is caused by the random (<choose>) template being transcluded twice. To fix it, I'd suggest moving all the quotes into the main signature page. Pink(Astronomy Domine) 18:57, 23 September 2008 (EDT)
- DISCLAIMER: At least, I think that's right. It couldn't hurt to try. Pink(Astronomy Domine) 18:57, 23 September 2008 (EDT)

Is it spelled poof or pouf? Frickin' nice laugh in the middle of the night nonetheless! ħuman 04:23, 21 December 2008 (EST)
- Pretty sure it's poof, shortened from poofter. Private Eye has a "Pooves Corner". You may be getting confused with pouffe the item of French furniture. Also (just checked) WP reedirects poof to homosexuality while pouf is some old Frenchwoman's (Marie Antionette) hairstyle. -- Lily Ta, wack! 04:38, 21 December 2008 (EST)

Question[edit]
What is "Ta, wack!" mean? It's probably been explained elsewhere, I know. Corry 00:58, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- Well, "Ta" means "thanks". So I suspect "Ta, wack" means "Thank you very much". The English have a way with English that other countries utterly fail to fathom, as far as I can tell. ħuman 04:11, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- Wack was a friendly term for another scouser (Liverpuddlian) particularly during those heady days of the "Mersey sound" during the 60s. It's rather dated now and I haven't heard it used in

- Born a scouser - always a scouser. She sometimes let's the accent out. Unfortunately, there is still a high degree of religiosity in my home town, probably because like Belfast & Glasgow there is still a big divide between Prods & Catholics. although there is much less animosity here - scouse humour tends defuse any issues. - I've sussed out some old friends and friends of friends who are now living down under and have the offer of a room. It may mean travelling 200 miles but I'm tempted. Apparently none of the airlines are taking any new bookings until that date and the travel agents can't do anything. The weather was nice last week but has now turned cloudy and cooler. ANZAC Day[edit]
Cheers for the ANZAC Day message, slipped my mind (although...........I may not be able to refresh my liquor supply. ANZAC Day trading laws might prohibit it.) Acei9 02:36, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
- No no, all is well. Liquor shall flow. Acei9 02:39, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
- There's a bloody great parade going past my hotel here in Perth. I was surprised that we didn't have a template for it already so I just roughed up something quickly. Lily Inspirate me. 02:47, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

The Asslfy would approve that you've gone for a more 'concise' username - non of that Anti-American UK English unnecessarily long proper nouns for you!
