That Bar page is priceless. A true work of art. Africa was...intense. I'm still trying to process a lot of what I saw/experienced. Came back short 13 kilos of body weight (after about five weeks or so...and not due to healthy diet and exercise...) and a very expensive camera and very confused as to what to say about what was in many ways a rather difficult experience. TheoryOfPractice 22:01, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah CUR wasn't too impressed. We only trashed as he did a typical CUR thing and created a page, called it "The Weeping Lion" and said that it was his and his rules applied. That kinda led to his demise. Difficult experience eh? Enjoyable though I take it? Ace McWickedi9 22:06, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
- Parts were very enjoyable. Parts were a bit of a horrorshow. Like I said, still trying to process a lot of it. Sorry to miss CUR's demise though. Clarification--I didn't know CUR was gone when I came back--I got wind of it pretty quickly though. And so my plans to vaporize Felidae and Cheetah should be put on hold? TheoryOfPractice (talk) 22:18, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

- I believe I was around when something like that happened. But since he now thinks we're a giant "cliche," maybe he's not looking. I'm just trying to figure out whether it would be better to do it now when we're already in HCM over the Marcus Cicero thing, thereby causing a Total Wiki Implosion, or to wait a bit and do it when things are quieter. 22:23, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

You let MC out of the vandal bin, and now you have to waste your time cleaning up after him. Why couldn't you just have left him there? The guy is a tedious troll, far worse than our present spam bot problem. What is wrong with limiting how often he can troll us? --JeevesMkII The gentleman's gentleman at the other site 22:30, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- You might be right--but it strikes me as somewhat unfair that people are feeding the troll and poking him with a stick when he could only post once every half-hour. Not a fair fight. If I were still a bureaucrat, I might have sysopped him so he could unblock/unbin himself and fight a fair fight. I've only been back on-wiki for a week or so, and so there may be a lot I've missed, but it strikes me that as much as MC has been a troll, some people seem to have revelled in aggravating the situation....TheoryOfPractice (talk) 22:34, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thats why I intercomed to ignore him. But I still gave him a sanity block. Ace McWickedi9 22:37, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- Totally reasonable. TheoryOfPractice (talk) 22:38, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, I disagree with your logic for letting MC out of the VB. Let us assume we have a user who is being deliberately disruptive and is put in the vandal bin. Every time such a user makes a post they are likely to generate a number of replies, though their own rate of reply would be limited by the vandal bin. This is inevitable.
- However, if we followed your argument then we would have to constantly let them out of the vandal bin in order to reply. Even worse, you seem to be suggesting that we would have to make them sysops in order to let themselves out. Essentially the VB would lose all meaning and purpose. If people want to get out of the VB they know what they have to do.--BobNot Jim 07:28, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- MC was pretty hectic and troublesome. He never had anything really to add that wasnt atagonistic. And recently, with his harping on about a secret forum and now this asylum bit....well, I reckon its gone far enough. I think we have seen enough of his character to assume that if we let him out of the vandal bin the best we'll get is a torrent of abuse. And its pretty annoying to dutifully revert his vandalism whilst just igoring him, someone is bound to snap. I reckon keep him in the vandal bin. Ace McWickedi9 08:55, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- Agree with Ace, leave him in the bin. If he wants out, he can start being productive, otherwise don't bother. I will note that when Jeeves put him there in the first place, MC said it was legitimate, so there's another vote for binning. Blocking on the other hand, I'd be against. --Kels (talk) 15:03, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

- Yes, we prefer the bin but block if it's extreme (and this isn't really that bad, it's "mostly harmless" trolling) it should be in the community standards, if anyone can remember that. I think the only time anyone thought of using it was against Fall Down. However since he used proxies, it sort of didn't matter about blocking anyway. narchist 15:10, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
To Bob, Ace and Human....[edit]
Bob's right, you know. So is Ace. ħuman 08:59, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- Upon reflection, I think Bob, Ace and Human are right--with the proviso that people stop poking MC with a stick. Most people in the bin are there for clearcut vandalism and are promptly forgotten, so there's no need to think about the need for them to address what people are saying to/about them--not the case with MC. And I'm not sure if rude comments like MC's placed on talk pages count as vandalism--it's not like he threatened to rape a user a la Fall Down. And I'd still rather deal with 10 MCs than one CUR. But I'll follow the consensus and keep him in the bin....— Unsigned, by: TheoryOfPractice / talk / contribs .
- Actually my point was about TOP's logic for releasing MC from the VB. I'm not 100% convinced that he should be there either but as it was his actions which got him in there in the first place I don't find myself having too much sympathy for his plight.--BobNot Jim 14:31, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- I am not convinced either, but a few days in the bin won't kill him. There needs to be a "cooling off" period. tmtoulouse 14:35, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- Whether or not he's a vandal may be up for debate but a review of his posts puts him firmly as a Troll. Look at the time and effort we're spending on him, he's just loving all this. We could just ignore him but it's a lot easier if he spends some time in the vandal bin. Silver Sloth (talk) 14:45, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Re: Feeding the troll (MC)[edit]
Since I was only around when it started, would the fact that I blocked him for 20 minutes and told him to stop trolling before shit hit the fan be considered feeding the troll, or would that considered reasonable, just for future reference (I am new to actually dealing with trolls). The Goonie 1 (talk) 06:14, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- The unfortunate thing about trolls is they feed off any acknowledgement of their existence good or bad. Blocking him gives him what he wants, he wants to show what is wrong with RW so he acts like as big of a dick as possible and then says "you blocked me, your just as bad as Conservapedia". Just let him throw a fit quite by himself and revert his vandalising mainspace edits without comment. - π 06:21, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- Alrighty. Like I said, that was the first time I have actually ever dealt with a troll, so I look to you guys (and gals) who've actually dealt with them before for guidance on dealing with them. Thanks for the input. The Goonie 1 (talk) 06:34, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

That is such nonsense, show me where my brother made a vandalising mainspace edit? There are countless examples of where he constructively added to articles. This is just adolescent, peurile hatred with no grounding in reality at this stage. MarcusCicero (talk) 08:49, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

- Surely, putting "don't feed the troll" under every trolling post is, erm, feeding the troll... narchist 12:04, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- I would say not. Feeding the troll is responding and debating with it. The post is a way of responding without encouragement while at the same time reminding others of the action to take (or rather not take).--BobNot Jim 12:07, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- Hmmm... we should test this theory. narchist 12:14, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

OK. Sorry! I am very sorry about what I've done. I was so angry, worried, and concerned about the book that I tried to do, write, say, and ask things quickly and excessively without thinking or paying much attention to what others might respond or react disapprovingly or what they might do.
That article is not important. It is not important to me. It is not important to me any more.
The same is for everything else I wrote, said, or asked about humanism and its criticisms. I promise I won't ask or write anything much about, on, or to do with humanism or anything against it any more.
I'm just asking should I be worried or concerned about the book? How worried or concerned should I be? What should I do?
If not the book, then what about criticims of secular humanism in general? Should I be worried or concerned about the book? How worried or concerned should I be? What should I do?
I'm just asking this one thing now.

I'll make it clear that I have no interest in being a sysop, though I admire TOP's integrity. How anyone can stand for what The Emperor has done (Protecting his userpage and all that) is beyond me. So much for having archives and not allowing individual users to delete material on their talk page. Face it, you live in a bubble, and you need someone to give you a shot of reality sometimes. Dear TOP[edit]
Thank you for your constant courage in the face of a neverending barage of hypocrisy and geekishness from the likes of the Theemperor. The fact that Theemperor feels the need to revert peoples edits all the time (Not just mine, he does it to others. He really belongs on wikipedia or something, not here. He's a paper pushing geek who belongs in the basement of a library stacking old copies of PC World.) is indicative of his completely spineless and humourless nature.
I would like to point out to you, and to others here that NOT ONCE have I EVER vandalised a mainspace page. In fact, the criticism of VANDALISM simply doesn't stand up when properly investigated, and if my case was looked at more OBJECTIVELY, all of you would find that I HAVE NOT BROKEN YOUR RULES. I have NOT vandalised any RW page. All I have done it told a few pricks that they were pricks. I can stop posting on their talk pages if you like, if their knickers really do get in such a twist.
And please look through my editing history. I have posted some useful stuff here in my time. If I wasn't confronted with juvenile humour constantly I wouldn't feel the need to be a wanker.
In the interests of RW not appearing like a grotesque inversion of CONSERVAPEDIA, I invite some kind of formal inquiry to assuage my guilt and prove it beyond all reasonable doubt in a community environment. If I have broken the rules, then fine. I will accept my punishment. If I am innocent then it just proves how pathetic RW is slowly becoming when you allow people like Theemperor and their reverting, page protecting ways any precedent. The people you should have been getting rid of was the likes of RA and him, useless souls with no imagination or anything genuine to do with their lives. Thank youMarcusCicero 13:31, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

- The thing is, though, that when you post insults (whether or not they are true or warranted) on someone's personal talkpage and they ask you cut it out, you should cut it out. I don't usually mind you, MC. But when Theemperor asked you to cut it out, and you didn't, that's where someone had to draw the line. Look, I just responded to a VERY IMPORTANT E-MAIL from a Noted Member of this Community with a Severe Drinking Problem asking me why I was "MC happy." I replied, I'm not. He's a shit. But people here crapped all over me when I lost my tiny mind over Fall down's use of our wiki to disseminate threats to "ass-rape" people, telling me that blocking was no good and we could just revert or ignore. MC has done nothing of that magnitude AFAIK, and he makes occasional Useful Edits, even. People who run to the diff link when they see MC has made a comment on a talk page and then get their knickers in a twist over what he's said--knowing full well they're not gonna like it in the first place--should just ignore him. Yes, he's insulting. But some of his comments re: the WIGOs posted by our newer/less experienced clones are, as crudely as he puts them, not too far off the mark. Ignore him, challenge him, but binning him is unnecessary and Lets the Terrorists Win. TheoryOfPractice 15:39, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Year-long block.[edit]
One--it's really unclear to me as to what's going on here and whether or not MC is speaking for himself or if "his brother" is speaking for him, so I'm not sure the block is a good idea. Two--we don't block users. If MC wants to be blocked, make him a sysop and let him block himself. Three. TK isn't even blocked ferfuxsake.
