That is a bit boring Proxima. - User For best results always render PNG 03:57, 29 September 2008 (EDT)
Indeed. Proxima has yet to grasp many things, including signing when you welcome people. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 00:02, 30 September 2008 (EDT)
Hi Starfish. If you'd like to know a bit more about our aims the RationalWiki:Newcomers' guide will give you more info. If you're still not sure that you're in agreement - welcome anyway. :-) --Bobbing up 12:58, 31 October 2008 (EDT)
StarFish we have a simple purpose here. My understanding is that RationalWiki is a place where we may drink, slam our fists on the table and hoot excitedly at the full moon. Ace McWickedThe Liquid Room 05:35, 14 November 2008 (EST)

Sorry[edit]

If I offended you, Starfish, I didn't intend to. I have every sympathy with you. I wrote a whole lot here & have deleted it as a self pitying rant, suffice to say, I still haven't found men really the stuff of which true friends are made - possibly also due to my schooling. Toast 14:21, 2 January 2009 (EST)

Ah toast thank you so much for writing on my talk page. I really do appreciate it and that act alone makes my comment (about this place being on a level with CP) untrue. My problem is that I take it all too seriously (and presonally) and confuse jokey comments with serious ones. I deleted my second comment on the talk page but it got brought back thanks to an edit conflict. I really shouldn't type in haste. Thanks Toast. StarFish 14:50, 2 January 2009 (EST)
aside: ( "mardy" is a lovely word - describes the feeling marvelously. Where [roughly] are you, I assume you're a Brit? I'm S Yorks) Toast 15:49, 2 January 2009 (EST)
Hey Toast! We're not that far apart. Yes I'm a Brit also in SW Scotland, near Carlisle. I am from Cumbria originally though so don't have the 'delightfull' Scottish accent (yet). I grew up in Penrith which is very old fashioned and deeply conservative. Every school I went to was seperate sex apart from infant school (I'm 39 by the way which probably puts me as one of the last generations where this happened). I like to blame all my problems on this kind of thing where it would probably be more honest to look inside. Also I should wait until after I've smoked a herbal cigarette before I post! I don't know why i do it though. I let something annoy me on the internet (not just on here) and post bile in haste. I think it's called Freudian projection. I must get over it. Sorry Toast. I blame my up-bringing... StarFish 02:20, 3 January 2009 (EST)

My condolences on joining the scum of the earth, StarFish! That's right—you are now a sysop!

You have been sysoped for being at least one of the following: (1) you are a carbon-based life form; (2) you're breathing (at least, I hope so); (3) you're not a vandal (4) you're littering red exclamation points everywhere! (My sincerest hope is that you are a carbon-based life form : ) )

Here is your bucket, mop, and instruction manual. Try not to go too crazy now! : ) Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 14:36, 29 January 2009 (EST)

Does this meen me? I'll read the guide. Thanks guys. StarFish 15:19, 29 January 2009 (EST)

Yeah...[edit]

It was definitely meant to sting (though it is a tragedy), since the Bible Thumpers are so quick to attribute anything great in this world to God by default, and that really pisses me off. Like I say, I feel bad for those caught in the blaze. Death by fire is no way to go.DSFARGEG 11:41, 9 February 2009 (EST).

Drug Free[edit]

Good luck with that StarFish. What are you getting off of? --PitchBlackMind 06:54, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Hey thanks PBM. It was mostly pot but also a few other things that were slowly taking over my life. I don't want to say too much as I use the same screen name on a few forums and you never know who's watching! The frequency of drug taking had got pretty high. I told myself I was an occasional user but it seamed like there was always some occasion worth "celebrating". I was stoned the whole time. I had tried to pack it in a few times before but last weekend for the first time I really deeply wanted to leave it behind. That made a big difference. There have been a few ups and downs this week and I know I'm being short tempered (looking at some of my posts on here makes me cringe!) but every day it gets better! Thanks man. StarFish 07:20, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Right on man. I was profoundly addicted to drugs when I was younger, so I know the ordeal pretty well. I hope it goes well for you. If you really want/need to quit, you can, this much I know for sure. --PitchBlackMind 07:34, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
I have been that road, luckily for me I lost interest as opposed to having to go down the long rehab road. Good luck! Ace McWickedi9 08:37, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
