There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity. |

A Virtual YouTuber (Also known as a VTuber or VStreamer) is a type of content creator that uses motion tracking to animate a 2D or 3D avatar in real time rather than using a traditional webcam.
Virtual YouTubers have their origins in Japan and the hostile, misogynistic streaming culture that exists there, so naturally, when introduced to the wider world during the pandemic, it attracted the worst types of people imaginable.
