When a flag isn't in the template[edit]
If you wish to use a flag that isn't available in any template, you can insert it into an article using the following wiki markup:
[[File:Dummy flag.svg|40px|link=main page]]
The above code will display like this in a WIGO entry:
After adding the wiki markup to your entry, simply:
- Replace "dummy flag.svg" with the file name of the flag you wish to use.
- Replace "placeholder" in "link=main page" with the name of the relevant RationalWiki article you want click on the flag image to direct readers to.
If RationalWiki does not have an article, then add "wikipedia:" after the equal sign and before the article name to direct to a Wikipedia article.
[[File:Dummy flag.svg|40px|link=wikipedia:placeholder]]
If you don't want the flag image to link anywhere, remove "|link=" from the wiki markup.
If the flag is too big or small when you preview it, modify the the "40px", to adjust flag size until it fits into the entries appropriately.
