I hope the "d" doesn't stand for death. ThunderkatzHo! 17:07, 27 May 2008 (EDT)

No, it stands for demented... D-Notice 09:23, 31 May 2008 (EDT)
It's actually short for Defence Advisory (DA) Notice SusanG  ContribsTalk 09:35, 31 May 2008 (EDT)
Yeah, I know... I use it as my blog name D-Notice 14:12, 31 May 2008 (EDT)
These Yanks wouldn't have known that. :)SusanG  ContribsTalk 14:18, 31 May 2008 (EDT)
Noticed your presence over there - what're you gonna do with it? :-) SusanG  ContribsTalk 13:42, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
This but it has been reverted by Aschlafly himself for no apparent reason. Also, note how quickly it changed... D-Notice 14:20, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
I've asked him for reasons D-Notice 14:24, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
His "reasons" are on this page. D-Notice 14:30, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
(undent) You dared to correct "Examples of Bias in WP" and you're a member here? Pffffffffffft, you're as good as banned. The page has several wrong or outdated claims, and many people tried to correct/update them. The only way you can survive now is to completely retreat (and apologize if/when Andy says you must do so) or to only update entries with something like "Wikipedia has been shamed into admitting its mistake after it was pointed out here. However, millions of other examples of liberal bias still exist today. You should not use Wikipedia. Wikipedia SUCKS. Godspeed!"
Oh, but welcome to RW! --Sid 14:56, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
Welcome. But But but - doesn't "D Notice" stand for "Defense Notice" - the thing the British government sends to newspapers when it wants to censor what they say? --Bobbing up 15:34, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
Agggg - sorry I see that point has been made. --Bobbing up 15:35, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
Welcome, D-Notice! :D @Bob: it's "DefenCe Notice" mate ;) Spica the Hiver If you tolerate this, then your children will be next... 15:37, 1 June 2008 (EDT)

Mayor[edit]

"... the local council, of which the mayor is the leader." Not really: for instance a friend of mine (Janet Wilson) was leader of the council in Sheffield for years while the Mayoralty goes by "Buggins Turn" for a year at a time - often switching between parties every year - the post is actually more like the speaker in the HOC. SusanG  ContribsTalk 18:04, 1 June 2008 (EDT)

Never mind... it's still a lot more accurate than most articles on CP D-Notice 18:59, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
True... very true Nods.gif SusanG  ContribsTalk 19:01, 1 June 2008 (EDT)

War on Drugs[edit]

I've added a comparison to 1920s prohibition. Let's see what response I get... D-Notice 12:33, 2 June 2008 (EDT)

Reverted straight away, so amended. D-Notice 12:35, 2 June 2008 (EDT)
Amendment reverted so re-instated and extra info added. D-Notice 12:40, 2 June 2008 (EDT)

Memory-hole[edit]

I'm not sure you should wikify those articles. They're supposed to be direct text-drops of the original articles on CP, after all :) Thought? Jellyfish!Fish can wish 20:07, 4 June 2008 (EDT)

Fair enough. I only did it as they were listed on the Dead-end pages bit... D-Notice 04:44, 5 June 2008 (EDT)

WIGO[edit]

When you have a sequence of events unfolding in a WIGO item it is much better to chronicle them as diffs not oldids. A list of oldids just gives the same page getting longer and longer and you can't see what has been added with each event. Jollyfish.gifGenghismarauding 07:37, 5 June 2008 (EDT)

OK no problem. D-Notice 11:21, 5 June 2008 (EDT)

  • I note you are having fun/doing some work adding links, which is great.
  • When you have to create the section, can you please not capitalize the second word?
  • And, of course, use asterisks to make them bulleted lists.
  • Thanks! ħumanUser talk:Human 22:06, 5 June 2008 (EDT)

yreposys daM[edit]

My condolences on joining the ranks of janitors, D-Notice. That's right—you are now a sysop!

You have been demoted because you meet the following criteria: (1) You have a pulse. (2) You are not a vandal. (3) You are a vandal, but do not have a pulse.

(One of those is not like the other...)

Here is your bucket, mop, and instruction manual. Try not to rampaging across the wiki now! : ) Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 20:25, 9 March 2009 (EDT)

Err... thanks. I'll try to refrain from abusing my power, but I make no promises... D-Notice 07:54, 11 March 2009 (EDT)

I've been blocked![edit]

Yay! Andy blocked me. My crime? Using facts to destroy his views.

The best thing is the reason "Bye"! D-Notice 19:58, 13 March 2009 (EDT)

Saturn[edit]

I really liked that. Mars was pretty good, though hard to distinguish from all the usual "what does the bible tell us about exobiology" stuff. But Saturn was awesome. Question: Can God create a planet so large he can't find a bathtub large enough to float it in? Gauss 12:42, 23 March 2009 (EDT)

Aw, thanks. I'm gonna try and create a new sock and see what else I can add in.
As for the question, who knows? Maybe someday mankind will be able to create one so he/she/it won't need to. D-Notice 14:05, 23 March 2009 (EDT)
