Fake news smh[edit]

I take offense to your username, rabbits should not eat carrots, they cannot digest them properly. Bugs Bunny is not a reliable source on taking care of rabbits. I thought this was supposed to be RATIONALwiki, smh. ---Ozzyboo (talk) 16:31, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

IrrationalWiki exposed yet again. Rabbitseatcarrots (talk) 16:33, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

For demoting a sock of a banned user[edit]

Rainbow trout transparent.png Whack!
You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Somebody just wants to let you know you did something silly.

Be careful before demoting new users that only posted on the bar. GeeJayK (talk) 20:30, 22 September 2022 (UTC)

RationalWiki seems to have a tradition of not deleting talk page messages, with exceptions for messages that are obvious harassment and doxing. As the user already had been registered for 3 days and had been active on the Saloon Bar only, and none of their messages seemed like either of those (I do a quick check of their contribs before adding user groups), I gave them autopatrolled. Nothing about them seemed like a sock of a banned user, I suppose that's one of those things that come with experience. Rabbitseatcarrots (talk) 20:50, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
That's correct. Don't worry a lot about that. GeeJayK (talk) 21:32, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
Will try to be more careful with these things in the future, thanks @GeeJayK. Rabbitseatcarrots (talk) 21:42, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
Signing up for Saloon Bar posting isn't illegal, but a habit of one usual troll with their pitiful takes and turgid prose, but make sure you gauge reactions to this user's posts first. I strongly suspected that user to be the usual troll and was going to remove autopatrol and tell you this user is too suspicious. --It's-a me, Lgm sigpic.png LeftyGreenMario! 00:21, 23 September 2022 (UTC)

@Wheelsontheancom You're welcome! Rabbitseatcarrots (talk) 19:54, 26 September 2022 (UTC)

Demotion[edit]

You are now a Tech. Pleasant journeys. —cosmikdebris talk stalk 13:49, 27 September 2022 (UTC)

Will do this job as a Level 4 Janitor to the best of my ability. Rabbitseatcarrots (talk) 13:53, 27 September 2022 (UTC)

Impersonator[edit]

I just saw that impersonator of me that you dealt with in the logs. I don't know whether to be flattered or furious that somebody literally tried to copy-paste my user page and talk page as their own. Either way, I'm having a hard time not bursting out into a fit of incredulous laughter right now. Thanks for handling the faker! --Luigifan18 (talk) 20:10, 28 September 2022 (UTC)

Meh, it's just the stuff that comes with being a RatWikian, recently I saw one of my greatest fans edit a Saloon Bar archive to say very bad things about me. Rabbitseatcarrots (talk) 20:41, 28 September 2022 (UTC)

Your email to me[edit]

You're able to remove your tech rights yourself if you're so inclined (Special:UserRights/Rabbitseatcarrots). Bongolian (talk) 22:41, 28 September 2022 (UTC)

@Bongolian The email wasn't about tech stuff, I volunteered for tech and do intend to do the tasks associated with this role. It was just stuff about my statement that I was running for mod this year. Rabbitseatcarrots (talk) 22:47, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
OK. Bongolian (talk) 22:49, 28 September 2022 (UTC)

New template idea[edit]

Hey. About a week ago, I created this crude notice-box with the intention of waiting a few days on the Rome Viharo AfD to see whether or not User:BUFO and User:Boar were acting in RationalWiki's best interests with their efforts to wipe the slate clean on Laird Shaw and Rome Viharo. The idea was that if Boar didn't provide a good reason for their actions and he and BUFO appeared to be Rome Viharo sockpuppets, I'd restore the Laird Shaw article and put that notice on it to explain my reasons why. Now, my concerns have been assuaged (they were @Bongolian's concerns moreso than my own in the first place and he felt that restoring the Laird Shaw article would be unnecessary), so I have no intention of restoring the article, but I still think that the notice-box I set up would be a good template to be used if there is ever a reason to reconsider and recant on a previously-passed Articles for deletion vote. I just have no idea how to create a template out of it (heck, you should see where I tried putting it up on Bongolian's talk page as a demonstration that I screwed up the formatting somehow). I vaguely recall hearing on another talk page that you would be a good person to ask for help. --Luigifan18 (talk) 15:58, 4 October 2022 (UTC)

Is it really needed though? Granted, I'm still a noob if you compare my time here with other users, but has RationalWiki ever found the need to restore a deleted article? Rabbitseatcarrots (talk) 17:16, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
I don't see a need for it, but if you want more opinions, you can ask in the Saloon. There are plenty of disused templates. Bongolian (talk) 17:26, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
The intent behind the restoration notice template is to label a page as being temporarily restored while its old AfD is re-opened and a new discussion is held on what to do with it, which should only need to happen if there is good reason to suspect some sort of foul play in the initial AfD (such as somebody using sockpuppets to generate a false consensus that tricks a clueless sysop into deleting an article that actually supports RationalWiki's mission — perhaps a crank trying to destroy "libel" against their reputation that is actually very well grounded in reality). Of course, if foul play is too obvious, then it either won't succeed in the first place or there will be no genuinely viable arguments against the restoration of the article, so the restoration notice is really meant to be used for situations where the validity of the old AfD is truly uncertain and a new debate must be held to decide what to do with the article. --Luigifan18 (talk) 22:46, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
