Hi . Nice of you to join us. If you'd like to know a bit more about the site please have a look at our RationalWiki:Newcomers' guide.--Bobbing up 14:09, 12 March 2009 (EDT)
Greetings, Smg87, and welcome to the rabidly envisioning quick extension cord! Thank you for joining us! I hope you enjoy your time here. Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 15:07, 12 March 2009 (EDT)
- Hey I've only just noticed that your 'welcome to the' changes each time, silly me. Haven't really done much of anything here, but hopefully that'll change soon. Please shout at me if I do something wrong.
- Like forget to sign my own name. Whoops. --Smg87 02:04, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Please ignore the troll[edit]
ignore him, he's a self-admitted troll. He goes around trying to get a rise out of people by insulting them, and pretends that he's an intellectual. Totnesmartin (talk) 13:09, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- Fair enough, I'll ignore him. I just don't understand why he does it. On a completely different subject, the only topics I feel confident enough to write articles on are biology and music, but I can't always see how they would fit with the site's mission statements, and I can't tell jokes. Should I stick to red-linked articles? --Seantalk 13:16, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- You could check RationalWiki:To_do_list. I'd be cautious about going to heavily in to biology though, since RW isn't intended to be an encyclopedia. It's pretty helpful to cover topics that are commonly misunderstood or abused. Embyronic stem cell research is a classic example of this. Getting red links out of the way is useful, but only if the resulting article is on-mission. In some cases, we may be better off just de-linking those things, or pointing them towards WP for a more encyclopedic description. --Ask me about your mother 13:24, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

- Don't listen to Totnesmartin. He's just jealous that he doesn't have my considerable powers of intellect, wisdom, reason, or virtues such as honesty, clarity, objective goodness etc. They insist on keeping me in prison because if I was unleashed I would continue to point out the flaws in this website. I like to talk about the opportunity cost of RW being turned into a fascist hellhole which loves memes and shit internet jokes. Think of all the good people the site turns away every day by adopting this moronic attitude? MarcusCicero (talk) 13:53, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Remember:
Hi, This is John's brother. I know he has been using this account for a variety of reasons, none of them productive for his troublesome history of mental health problems. For obvious reasons I don't want to go into details about this but suffice to say my mother and father have decided to withdraw his access from the internet for the duration of his most recent treatment process. I apologise on my brothers behalf for any problems he may have caused this website during his period of instability. As you know, his posts have been of a bizarre quality but that is merely a reflection of his real world mental anguishes. MarcusCicero (talk) 23:09, 11 July 2009 (UTC) |

And:
My glorious run has ended. This is not a case of 'leaving and never coming back', but more a case of 'burn out'. I created a personality on the internet so radically different from the real life version that I've forgotten even what trolls remorse feels like.. (You can thank Refugee over on RWW for providing the impetus) My highlights on RW:
One regret: Stooping to do the mental illness stunt. That was a terrible miscalculation. Adios RW! I may pop in from time to time, but at least now you'll know for sure than I'm a fully fledged troll! MarcusCicero 19:48, 5 December 2009 (UTC) |
And:
On the other hand, the temptation to shake the ant farm and watch them scurrying to each others aid is far too great to overcome. MarcusCicero (talk) 10:45, 7 June 2010 (UTC) |
- Pretending to be your mentally ill brother counts as "honesty" does it? Intellect? Claiming to have written a play based members of this site, but not saying what it's called or who was in it - of course there's no lay, you're just being pompous. objective goodness? calling people child abusers because you disagree with them. fascist hellhole? Vandal-binning you for being a troll is different from killing millions. You are a troll, you've admitted it yourself. This is your life - insulting people on the internet because their website isn't as good as you'd like. Totnesmartin (talk) 14:03, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- Your propaganda changes nothing Totnesmartin. This decrepit site, devoid of reason, simply cannot handle my powers of observation. I am a collosus bestriding the English language. Have you no shame? Can you not see the damage you are bringing to mankind at large for keeping my talents away from this site? Just imagine the changes I could bring here, if I was a 'crat' for a day. RW needs a reformation. RW needs a Luther. Let me light the spark that will change the mindset of a generation. MarcusCicero (talk) 15:19, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- I don't mean to be picky but your claim of mastery over the English language would have greater substance if your spelling was better. Lily Inspirate me. 15:27, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- a collosus bestriding the English language ha ha! Incidentally your rhetoric about wanting to improve RW would carry some weight if you'd made any mainspace contribs in the last six months. Totnesmartin (talk) 16:16, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Don't feed the troll[edit]
I just wanted to add a new line so that I don't see the troll's name coming up on recent changes. Perhaps we could continue below this point.--BobBring back the hat! 15:17, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, now I think about it some more - could we perhaps not continue beyond this point?--BobBring back the hat! 15:23, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
happy[edit]
MEMO Happy New Year, Smg87. This is from Useful Mei. It is an appropriate time for festivities, like alcohol. Today try not to eat too much, or too little. |
