Welcome to the atheist, WineOfTyrants. Perhaps, with a name like that, you should join us in the Saloon Bar. The Goonie Punk Can't sleep, clowns will eat me! 05:59, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
- I'll be ch-ch-checking it out once I've reacquainted myself with wiki language. Thanks for the welcome. WineOfTyrants (talk)
- AH, I see. Our help pages and newcomer's guide are really good at helping people with that. And you can always find your nearest site regular with any questions. Lord Goonie Hooray! I'm helping! 06:09, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

- Why thank you, it's my extension of Marx's saying "Religion may be the opiate of the masses, but the lust for power will always be the wine of tyrants" The Wine of TyrantsDrunk with power again!
- I thought it was a reference to Jefferson's "blood of patriots and tyrants" quote. Nice job on the Treaty of Tripoli. It's odd that we were missing such an obvious article. --Ask me about your mother 12:35, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
- No, it was just something I thought up because I wanted an online name that was cool and sophisticated sounding. My older online name, "Kazmarov," is a misspelling of a book I haven't read yet. So a change was in order.

- Yeah, I felt that the Treaty is one of the more important parts of debunking the "America as a Christian nation" argument. I saw it referenced in the Alan Keyes article and thought we might as well have an article explaining it rather than linking to the text. The Wine of TyrantsDrunk with power again!
- Concernedresident here on my mobile. Before I forget to ask, do you have any plans to add a section covering the claim that the references to Christianity are an isse with translation? If not, I'll add that in the next day or so. 86.41.159.107 (talk) 22:14, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

- Yes, you may add that the Arabic version of the treaty does not include the clause relating to Christianity. However it's still good in law, it was read aloud in the Senate (by John Adams no less), and 23 Senators voted in favor of it with the clause intact. More information about it is included in the essay I linked to on stephenjaygould.com The Wine of TyrantsDrunk with power again!
- Yep, that's exactly the part I was thinking of. Handy to have a quick dismissal of that for anyone involved in apologetics. --Ask me about your mother 23:16, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
Work on Philippines[edit]
Thanks for the compliment :D I'll see what I can do about the photos in the article..
- Alright, excellent. I'll be working on it myself to help wikify it and make it perfect in terms of grammar and syntax. The Wine of TyrantsDrunk with power again!

You have been demoted to janitor. The fellow who did so was too lazy to give you your instruction manual, so here it is. Tetronian you're clueless 22:22, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the information, I was wondering why I couldn't upload my article on eminent domain. I'm honored :). The Wine of TyrantsDrunk with power again!
- Congratulations. Just a quick thing. I saw the mooncake image doesn't have a licence associated with it. It seems to be Mooncake, but let me know if you're not familiar with the licence templates. We've been going through a clean-up of images, so I'm not sure if the image will stay there without having a proper attribution and licence attached to it. --Ask me about your mother 23:11, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
- I'm still working on learning licenses but I have a basic understanding. I was in a bit of hurry, I'll go back now and update the license (ShareAlike 1.0).

Economics revert[edit]
Is there a specific reason why you reverted my edits to the economics page? --71.13.38.115 (talk) 03:25, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- Reply is on the talk page. Just because you don't agree with the premises of an article doesn't mean you delete most of it without a replacement. The Wine of TyrantsDrunk with power again!
- Thanks for the clarification. Don't take my re-revert personally. I'm sort of new at this. I'll make my case on the talk page. --71.13.38.115 (talk) 03:31, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- I think that is a good idea. I'm going to make an account. --71.13.38.115 (talk) 03:50, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
Hello there[edit]
I'm sad to see that you may have left. There is a bit a rough and tumble here, which is a probably a side-effect of RW lacking the hierarchy seen on other sites. It's most a good thing, but we have to somehow solve disputes, and it's not uncommon for a glass or two to be thrown across the bar. In my opinion the economics article was too quickly binned. It would be appreciated if you could return to the economics discussion to improve the article. It needs some lovin' --Ask me about your mother 15:16, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- I really dislike using the "I'm taking my ball and going home" maneuver, but I also don't like being jerked around right out of the gate. I'll work on getting Economics up to snuff. The Wine of TyrantsDrunk with power again!

Green Party[edit]
Are you a an American Green Party member, or a member from across the Atlantic? Just curious. I look forward to your article on the Green Party, nonetheless. Lord Goonie Hooray! I'm helping!
- I'm a GPUS member registered in California. However, I'm more aligned politically with the European Greens- according to the EU's party ID quiz I agree most with the Austrian Greens. The Wine of TyrantsDrunk with power again!

What is the wine of tyrants??? Red or white wine? Shiraz, mead, cabernet, or something else? The Goonie Punk Can't sleep, clowns will eat me! 07:02, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
- Metaphorically, the lust for power. Practically, most tyrants probably prefer a heavy red or some variety of mead, with the exception of Kim Jong-il, who drinks cognac. The Wine of TyrantsDrunk with power again! 07:22, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

Great to see another Offspring fan onsite!--Thanatos (talk) 23:33, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
- Indeed, the first two albums I bought myself were White Blood Cells by the White Stripes and Conspiracy of One by The Offspring. Definitely underrated...I just graduated high school and during those four years Green Day was all one was permitted to talk about. - Ah, The Offspring. I met them a long, long time ago (almost 9 years!) when they played here at the Target Center. Dexter and Noodles, at least, are pretty cool guys and autographed the case of my "Smash" CD. Even though people will bash them, I look highly upon both Dexter and Noodles (I didn't meet the other guys, so I don't know what they're like).
