Destiny (person) | Result: keep[edit]
Delete[edit]
- No one seems to be able to justify why this article's inclusion on RationalWiki has anything to do with our mission statement. All of the discussion and references are isolated in obscure gamer, YouTube and Twitter streams. No one has provided any substantial information as to why we should include this subject here. —cosmikdebris talk stalk 03:46, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
- From the article I quote the following: "In September 2020, Destiny's partnership with Twitch.tv was cancelled for encouragement of violence after defending the Kenosha shooter, and encouraging the use of lethal violence against BLM protesters". Are you sure someone didn't put this template up there just to get Destiny out of internet jail?— Unsigned, by: MarioSuperstar77 / talk / contribs

- He’s an annoying streamer who talks about politics, isn’t a fascist so sometimes argues with them. So what? Christopher (talk) 11:58, 6 March 2021 (UTC)

Keep[edit]
- Duce probably voted delete because "IT'S A YOUTUBE ARTICLE LOL". I think it should be kept since he is a notable breadtuber, he is part of the left side of Youtube and Twitch that refutes far-right rhetoric like hbomberguy and the likes. Other Youtubers on RW would deserve to be deleted more than Destiny on the grounds that their pages aren't missional in the slightest, Pewdiepie would be an example. MarioSuperstar77 (talk) 11:50, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
- I wouldn’t call him a “breadtuber”, he’s a right-wing debate guy that often argues with fascists meaning he’s got a left-wing fanbase. If you think Pewdiepie should be deleted then nominate it, “another article needs to be deleted more” is never a good reason to vote keep in an afd. Christopher (talk) 11:58, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
- He‘s centrist, not left/right-wing.Kevlarstar and his dog (Woof!) 12:48, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
- Actually, I voted delete because he’s primarily a gaming streamer and thus of no interest to us. But thanks for trying to trivialize me. Chef Moosolini’s Ristorante ItalianoMake a Reservation 18:17, 6 March 2021 (UTC)

- He has a lot of influence and when he does things like defend the Kenosha shooter that's well within our mission. The argument about him being a gaming streamer is irrelevant as he is primarily known for his political content. Plutocow (talk) 19:37, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
- Given his work regarding politics, he is missional enough for this wiki. The article is not overly biased, nor poorly written.𝔖𝔲𝔪𝔪𝔞 𝔄𝔱𝔥𝔢𝔬𝔩𝔬𝔤𝔦𝔠𝔞 (𝔮𝔲𝔢𝔯𝔢𝔩𝔦𝔰) (𝔰𝔠𝔯𝔦𝔭𝔱𝔲𝔯𝔞) 20:03, 6 March 2021 (UTC)

- Agreed, mass transit is political and we voted to delete that. I don’t see the word “politics” in our mission; a lot of things that are political, but not politics itself. Christopher (talk) 22:20, 6 March 2021 (UTC)

- His defense of the Kenosha shooter should be enough to keep the article. I may expand on that later since he blocks many people who call him out on it and a variety of other issues. Nonstopmaximum (talk) 21:02, 6 March 2021 (UTC)

- Destiny has had numerous iconic debates with far-right commentators and content creators. Including Nick Fuentes, Sargon of Akkad, Jontron, Baked Alaska, Milo Yiannopoulos, and many more. His messaging has reached all of their communities and have definitely influenced them in one way or another. This alone should be more than enough to keep the article. Slybirdz (talk) 21:51, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
- Meets missionality on bullet point 3. He's had numerous debates with people we cover, is himself not uncontroversial for holding cranky beliefs and is as a result more than topical. Techpriest (I am Alpharius! / / / ) 22:10, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
- It is missional, though the article could need some expansion. Tuxer (talk) 22:20, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
