Delete[edit]

  1. This isn't missional. We are not a general reference site, nor an internet culture site. This article, if it needs to exist, would be better suited on another wiki Hastur! (talk) 07:14, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
  2. Just seems like a bullying page :/ Neiltyson1fan (talk) 07:49, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
  3. For once, Hastur and I both agree on something; this article just isn't missional. Our article on TJ "I hope you drown in rape s*men" Kirk already has a section on his e-begging, which I think is the only missional part of this article- and therefore I see no good argument for keeping this. That, and the fact that nobody's voted to keep it yet. --Goatspeed. How's my editingCircularREmail2.gifasoningPrototype lab 08:17, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
  4. This label might, maybe, possibly be a legit category (probably not) marking abusive users but, as a standalone, it doesn’t work. Taking begging out of the beggar’s full story weakens it to “here’s a list of bad people’s lesser-but-still bad behavior.” DerFluchtPlan (talk) 14:08, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
  5. It's just a fundraising technique, which can be used for good or bad by literally anybody. It's no more missional than the premium rate telephone line article we nuked a while back. Avida Dollarsher again 11:58, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
  6. Sophie's right, as usual. Spud (talk) 13:33, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
You misspelled "ever." Avida Dollarsher again 18:15, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

Keep[edit]

  1. Just nuke that example list. The concept is relevant given certain types of cranks we cover never seem to run out of ways to pilfer money from their audience to stay afloat. That example list is however completely unneeded and reads like it came straight out of 2013. Techpriest (I am Alpharius! / Pencil.png / Tux icon.png / Shield.png) 13:15, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
Should we also have an article for "cranks sometimes have dayjobs?"-Hastur! (talk) 19:14, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
"Cranks sometimes use excess hair products" DerFluchtPlan (talk) 01:20, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
  2. What Sirius said. IveBeenFrank (talk) 13:20, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
  3. Somewhat relevant, but as Sirius said, the list of examples (ChrisChan? No one cares except for ED) is superfluous. —cosmikdebris talk stalk 15:23, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
  4. Relevant since cranks often do this. Donald Trump especially. 🎄Chef Moosolini’s Ristorante Italiano🎄Ask about our holiday specials! 17:57, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
  5. -Flandres (talk) 18:14, 24 December 2020 (UTC)

Goat[edit]

  • As Sirius said, the example list should be nuked. If kept, it would go on forever. Bongolian (talk) 19:43, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
  • Possibly we could have a Category:E-beggars that we can then stick on to the relevant articles. Avida Dollarsher again 12:01, 26 December 2020 (UTC)
