TK makes a fool of himself[edit]
I'm not surprised. A bit disgusted, but not surprised. I get the impression that the CP Brain Trust regard "laws" and "rules" the same way they regard "science": as a nice decoration to stick on What We Were Going To Do Anyway to make it look a bit less repulsive. --Gulik 23:21, 18 July 2007 (CDT)

- Ouch, yes, it did. Now, put the random chunk that eats up a screen of text into another template, and include that in User:SirChuckB/sig like this:
sig2 = the random stuff, with the link to your talk page.
User:SirChuckB/sig = [[User:SirChuckB|SirChuckB]]{{User:SirChuckB/sig2}}

Use two templates - see how I use user:Human/sig as the "main" one that I put in my prefs. It includes user:Human/sigtalk which has all the random stuff. That way, your sig is still randomised, but the random stuff isn't saved into every talk page you sign. Public education[edit]
I've started an article on public education (which I'm surprised we already didn't have). I feel the article has the potential for greatness, and it touches upon so many aspects of our mission (which may not be readily apparent, given its magnificently cruddy form at the moment). "I'm a College Student in Colorado (Psychology and......possibly Music for the moment. Thank you for asking) "
Music is for fun. You don't need to pay college fees to learn it. But, by all means, learn it. I never regretted my thousand or so $15 payments to my guitar teacher. Yikes, math says that was $15 grand!!! Eh, it was probably only a few hundred lessons... Hi Chuck! ħuman 23:50, 24 August 2008 (EDT)

So I sat and said to myself "Charles, stop talking to yourself in the middle of campus, people are staring at you." (yes, it's an old, cheap joke, but I like it) and finally decided that my passion lies with music... so that's where I'm heading at the moment. I'm game[edit]
So, I'd like to hear your lengthy explanation of your comment on psychic powers at the poll. I realize the poll is tricky, as these are not really necessarily yes or no questions. While I don't believe in god or ghosts, I will not completely rule out the possibility that they may exist in some form. The lengthy miscellaneous paranormal section at the bottom is particularly tricky. You're quite right about science not having an explanation for everything yet. I was trying to stay away from that view, because clearly science has not answered everything (what caused the big bang? how did life originate? are two major ones), and dark matter wasn't what I was going for either because it is a very scientific concept. I think I was going for belief (or allowance for) something that from a scientific view is not currently deemed possible. I've seen a few things I am at a loss to explain and that I would believe were impossible. I don't exactly accept or reject them, but allow for the possibility that there is a supernatural, or there is a more scientific explanation that I have just not figured out yet. I don't think I really summed up that section too well, despite the verbage. But anyway, what's your take on the psychic element? DickTurpis 02:17, 20 September 2008 (EDT)

Well, I'm a barely pinkie, a greenie even when my veins show, but, yeah, Prop 8 was sad. Is it because the cullered folk resent the "civil rights" comparison? Is it because they are good churchgoing folk who hate the gheys? Is it because sometimes good people do bad things? - I wouldn't ever pay for Photoshop, because it's too annoying for me to use. If I ever seriously need a photoediting program for something other than online D&D games, I wouldn't be looking there anyway, so they aren't losing any money from me. But Dreamweaver (now owned by the same people) is simply disgusting. It's an amazing program, but the cheapest version is like 500 bucks. Start selling a $50 "home version" and you bet I'll be the first one to buy it. Until then... JazzMan 16:49, 11 December 2008 (EST)

- Try tabledit - built as a guitar tab writing program, it converts back and forth to music notation, will play your stuff with all repeats etc., has a drum tab, allows (obviously) multiple instruments. Demo version (watermarks printouts) - free. Wanna buy it? $50. If you ever go listen to my mp3s, I laid down the drum and bass tracks using it. ħuman 19:59, 11 December 2008 (EST)

- I use an old version of Paint Shop Pro (v 6 or so). It's not as powerful as Photoshop, but it's still pretty darn useful. Lots of functions, customizable toolbar, supports layers in its native format, can save in all popular formats, also has "animation shop" for making ani-gifs. Lots of various older versions on sale on line for small dollars from what I recall from a search a while back. I built Trent's pretty barnstar using it. ħuman 13:56, 11 December 2008 (EST)
(unindent) Not to mention, Finale runs the Adobe route and once a new version comes out, they drop most services for the older editions. I don't think you're anything like Jinx, but if anything represents Jinx style, it's string swears together while not being very clear on your intent. :-) Actually, your WIGO was a little too clean for Jinx. Not to mention Ace baiting doesn't sound like fun at all. SirChuckBWhatever happened to Skip It? 18:33, 24 March 2009 (EDT)

International Piracy?[edit]
The saloon bar thing seems a little harsh: am I missing something? I'm generally in favour of anything that prevents the "scientific" slaughter of whales (and their completely coincidental appearance in burgers a couple of weeks later), and although the methods Greenpeace employ can be a little dodgy, I've always considered them to be amongst the good-guys.
