Merge Tulpa with Buddhism[edit]

Tulpa is a belief of a branch of Buddhism.-DιαμοπdDιςc1(talk) 05:58, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

Not sure. I parsed Category:Buddhism and noticed that other Buddhism terminologies have their own article. See Maitreya, Qigong, Karma, all of them around as short as this one. --It's-a me, Lgm sigpic.png LeftyGreenMario! 07:24, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
Some of my books on cryptozoology - at least the ones at the weird end of it - posit Tulpas as an "explanation" for various cryptids. This could go into the article... and it also means tulpa isn't a purely Buddhist concept. WilderBicycle 19:52, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
As long as you incorporate that information, that will be enough for tulpa to have its own page. --It's-a me, Lgm sigpic.png LeftyGreenMario! 22:47, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
The form of tulpa being covered in this article is a western cultural phenomena. One that is mainly just borrowing the term from Buddhism. The cryptid interpretation sounds more like it would come from an older theosophic interpretation of the term. (And it would be woo. For the imagined creature is spiritually projected into the physical world). I can tell you which book originated the term. Though, the whole western thing comes from a two page extract of an old french travel log. "Magic And Mystery In Tibet 1932" Tulpa001 (talk) 09:24, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
By Alexandra David-Néel. I've got that somewhere. Avida Dollarsher again 12:15, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
Weak support Other branches have articles, but this is a stub. I think they should be merged. --Andrew5 (talk) 14:04, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── The result appears to be no consensus and should be closed accordingly, but I'll let a user who is uninvolved do that. Andrew5 (talk) 02:38, 23 December 2021 (UTC)

Screw it, Archiving it myself because it’s been 2 months and nothing has happened. Andrew5 (talk) 20:37, 23 February 2022 (UTC)

James Madison into President of the United States[edit]

James Madison is a significantly problematic article, and the content at President of the United States#James Madison (1809–1817) is quite lackluster, too. I am proposing they get merged to improve quality.Andrew5 (talk)

I'm going to have to oppose that. Sure the Madison article needs expansion, but most presidents, especially founding fathers, deserve their own articles. Various in the present day try to pass them off as evangelicals, downplay their connections with the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, or downplay their cruelty toward native Americans. We could always just do as I suggested on the talk page of the POTUS article-remove the list of presidents entirely.-Flandres (talk) 20:56, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
@Flandres James Monroe doesn't have an article (although him being a founding father is debatable, but so is Madison). While normally we edit it and improve, someone needs to be willing to improve or else it really should be deleted. Andrew5 (talk) 21:09, 8 November 2021 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── It appears we have no consensus. Time to close this case, then. Andrew5 (talk) 21:28, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

Merge Abortion with Morality of abortion[edit]

𝗦𝗾𝗿𝘁-𝟭 talk stalk 03:39, 9 December 2021 (UTC)

Gonna have to oppose this one. Sure, they are related, but both are bronzes, and merging would probably make it unnecessarily bloated. Spinoffs are acceptable in certain cases, this I feel is one of them. Also, no rationale has been provided for the merger. Andrew5 (talk) 14:09, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
Agree, both seem fairly substantial on their own, so it's not like there's a dearth of content in either. DietMondrian (talk) 04:12, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
We don’t have two articles for vaccines and then morality of vaccination. Same for GMOs. These arguments should be on the main page so that they can be easily viewed by newcomers.𝗦𝗾𝗿𝘁-𝟭 talk stalk 04:45, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
Well, tbh, we probably should, but that's a different discussion. Both articles are substantial, bronze articles. We shouldn't be overbloating articles, which makes it harder to find information if people don't have long attention spans. Merging would be unnecessary. Andrew5 (talk) 12:47, 12 December 2021 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Seems to be no consensus for 10 months; I'll archive. Andrew5 (talk) 01:15, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

Looks like I forgot. Andrew5 (talk) 23:28, 31 October 2022 (UTC)

Merge Catholic into Roman Catholic Church[edit]

Seems to be a stub that could possibly be already mentioned in the second article. TranslationForAll (talk) 21:23, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

Full support Catholic in it's current state should be deleted, but a redirect is obviously there and this needs to happen. Andrew5 (talk) 22:46, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
Actually, maybe a dismbag is better. Andrew5 (talk) 16:50, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
I just redirected the article, as nothing in there was sourced all along. Andrew5 (talk) 19:47, 1 November 2022 (UTC)

Merge Cathy O'Brien with MKULTRA[edit]

(((CheeseburgerFace))) Spinning-Burger.gif (talkstalk) 21:10, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

Merge!—ClickerClock (talk) 10:52, 25 June 2018 (UTC)
Nope! O'Brien deserves her own article as premium-quality weirdness, going well beyond orthodox MKULTRA theories; the current article could do with expansion to actually explain and debunk her theories. MKULTRA is one of the classics and obviously shouldn't be merged anywhere else. --Annanoon (talk) 15:48, 10 December 2019 (UTC)
I disagree with you. Cathy's article is a stub. They could easily be merged, in fact. Andrew5 (talk) 22:53, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
O'Brien really is her brand of kook, but her Project Monarch conspiracy theory is kinda her only focus, and I'm not sure if there's much to debunk here given the sheer insanity of her claims (could be wrong). Maybe we could cover her other books on the Cathy O' Brien article, but at its current state, I think it makes sense to take the Cathy O' Brien stub and merge it into MKULTRA. DietMondrian (talk) 04:04, 12 December 2021 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── I think there is consensus to merge, but I won't do so as I have voted. Andrew5 (talk) 02:38, 23 December 2021 (UTC)

Merge Kiwi Farms and Draft:Kiwi Farms[edit]

Why do we have draft for an article that already exists? Edward the eight (talk) 08:13, 9 December 2022 (UTC)

The creator wanted o do a partial rewrite of the KiwiFarms article. Why they'd need to create a draft for just a partial rewrite, rather than a complete one, is beyond me. Anyway, they haven't edited in over a year and the article was better than the draft. There wasn't any point keeping it. Spud (talk) 13:46, 9 December 2022 (UTC)

Merge Seasteading into Libertarian paradise[edit]

Seasteading is a specific form of libertarian paradise, a libertarian paradise that is to be constructed at sea. A single article under libertarian paradise would improve both pages by giving better context to seasteading, and more completeness to libertarian paradise. Bongolian (talk) 20:06, 3 August 2023 (UTC)

The Annotated Citizen's Rule Book with Citizen's Rule Book[edit]

The main article is short, and why have the rebuttal to the text be on a separate page? --2600:4040:475E:F600:9026:7289:BDCE:BEDD (talk) 02:06, 16 July 2023 (UTC)

I've decided to unilaterally merge them. Ioe bidome (talk) 01:23, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
