I'm not sure racism works like that[edit]

According to the article, he is "a turning-point marking the end of racism in the United States." I think racism is more complicated than this, it's not really something that can be ended in the sense the article is implying, since we have no mechanism to remove implicit biases and the like. Maybe be more specific like "a turning-point in ending racism in US politics" or something.Threadnaught (talk) 13:07, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

It's a joke. Clearly racism is still alive and well, but some (white) people seem to really have made that mistake. another Jewish conspiracy by (((Laurogeita Hamabost))) (talk) 14:01, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

Left Wing View[edit]

I've been going all around RW and happened to notice most of this political stuff is written with a left wing view. I'm not left wing or right wing (I don't like either party, not even central) but I happened to notice the narrative is mostly from one side.--Rimuru Tempest (talk) 22:52, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

Errors[edit]

Where is the citation that proved Anwar al-Awalki was a terrorist? Sure, this was claimed as a justification of his assassination, but the US has gone around naming every dead male over the age of 18 automatically a combatant in their strikes with no proof. Anwar al-Awalki was at one point detained in Yemen and they had to let him go because they could not establish with proof he was a combatant or terrorist. In the end all we can see is that he was a cleric who encouraged Muslims to repell the Americans Invaders. As a Constitutional scholar, Obama knew what he did when he swore to preserve and protect the Constitution, and even if his teachings as a cleric were an issue, that is something having to do with the first amendment. When Obama targeted him (and not on the field of battle, mind you) he violated al-Awalki's Constitutional rights, namely his right to a trial by his peers, and a defense against his accusers. It is a gross violation of law to purposefully target and assassinate a citizen.

The signing of the NDAA in effect ended habeus corpus, taking us back to law and rights pre-Magna Carta, waaaay back to the 1100s. The fact that the Trump Administration is now holding a US citizen in indefinite detention, with no arrest or due process, was made possible by Obama.

Pvt Manning was tortured in custody, btw.

Obama did not prosecute the torturers in the US agencies.

Obama always liked to blame his inaction on the GOP, but he had both houses from 2009 to 2011. And his failure to keep his Guantanamo Bay promise could have easily been solved: give them a trial or let them go. You don't need the GOP's approval, or to move them to another prison. What we need is due process, the rule of law and to end I indefinite detention.

Obama took the three countries Dubya was bombing and expanded it to seven. The drone war was also expanded. Dubya in his last month killed two by drone strikes, Obama's last month saw the death of over 400. In 2016 an average of 72 bombs a day were dropped. Over 126,000 bombs dropped for the whole year. So many bombs were dropped in Syria, a whole new ordinance had to be ordered by the US because they ran out.

Obama's intervention in Libya resulted in a failed state where there are slave markets now. The intervention was illegal as it exceeded the UN mandate when it went beyond trying to protect those in Benghazi and moved towards attacking Tripoli and Gaddafi forces in pursuit of regime change. The justification for intervention to save civilians was never applied to Israel and Gaza when Israel used the chemical weapons of white phosphorus on Gaza. The justification of intervening in Syria and Libya for democratic movements (which they weren't) were totally hypocritical when we look at the inaction when Saudi Arabia crushed their Arab Spring and then beheaded them, or when the pro-democracy movement was crushed in Bahrain (with the help of US former Philly police chief).

In other words, Obama set the Middle East on fire, continued for eight years a genocide on Muslims (look up the UN definition of genocide) and only had interventions on secular regimes in the region which pursued nationalist aims instead of pro-US and pro-Zionist policies. All this while propping up the most authoritarian and backwards regimes in the world (the Gulf States). This is purely a continuation of long-standing US imperialists policy and the British before them, back up, create and prop up the most reactionary elites and regimes as a means of neocolonial control and attack any regime which is more modern or independent.

Also, he helped bring PROMESA and the fiscal control board, or the dictatorial Wall Street junta to Puerto Rico. He even had his justice department argue against Puerto Rican sovereignty by citing Downes vs. Bidwell, a Supreme Court decision written by the same justice who also wrote the "separate but equal" decision in which the US Supreme Court stated that Puerto Rico "belonged to but was not part of the US" because Puerto Ricans constituted an "alien race" who should not expect sovereignty or democracy because as an alien race they would not understand "Anglo-Saxon" values. This is by it's very language a racist decession, advancing and enshrining White Supremacy and imperialism.

Post being president, Obama has cashed in now over a million dollars in speeches from the Wall Street fraudsters that he had Eric Holder proclaim to be "too big to Jail". He collected about half a million from Carlyle Group, a group he benefited by relaxing environmental regulations for biofuels on, making them a lot of money. Northern Trust, another group giving him close to half a million, gave him even more if you include the generous loan they gave him in 2006 with low interests rates when he was a Senator.

Thanks to WikiLeaks, we know Obama's entire cabinet was named by Citigroup, so no surprise there.

In conclusion: Obama promised to go hard after the banks, help people stay in their homes, be transparent, protect whistleblowers, end torture, shut down Guantanamo, and get the US out of Iraq.

I reality, Obama only saw two from Wall Street go to jail (and one, Lorraine Brown, was prosecuted because she frauded the banks, not the masses) and saw the banks get bigger, never punished the banks for continuing fraudulent forclosures up to 2010, saw the banks get bigger, was by many accounts the most secretive presidency, used the espionage act more than all other presidents combined (and he used it to go after whistle blowers), he continued the practice of extrodinary rendition and torture in black sites, let Manning get tortured, and in his last acts sent the US into Mosul in Iraq and carpet bombed it killing over 3,000 civilians (according to the AP). He pushed for a legal decision that argued that Puerto Rico had no sovereignty and rule by the will of their people but instead that of US Congress they have no say in and placed a Wall Street dictatorship, created failed states by his interventions in foreign policy, and saw people kicked out of their homes at the behest of the banks who gave him lots of checks since he left office.

Obama is a price if shit human being who utterly lacks a moral center. He is a corrupt stooge of Wall Street bloodthristy war criminal who said all the nice words, but never stood up for anybody.

BTW, the Supreme Court we're the ones who get the credit for gay marriage, Obama held back a long time before trying to get behind that.

Fuck that guy, he belongs in jail for war crimes and violating the Constitution.— Unsigned, by: 24.238.89.22 / talk

Excessive crossouts[edit]

There are 21 cross-outs in the first four lines of the article, which reminds me more of an art project than a wiki article. Who the hell would read this? Ariel31459 (talk) 18:40, 5 August 2020 (UTC)

I would. It basically sums up the biggest nonsense complaints about him. Zero (talk - contributions) 21:47, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
OK. I wouldn't. Because it doesn't read like a literary text. It is more like a schematic for a rube goldberg device. I guess my complaint is that it obscures the points you want to make. Ariel31459 (talk) 22:06, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
It just isn't as much fun without all the crossouts. --Vital Forces (talk) 15:17, 4 September 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for everything you do[edit]

Articles like these give me such a laugh, primarily because I have to deal with a bat shit insane right-wing family. Unlike many of the want-to-be-professional-but-still-acting-childish editors over at Wikipedia that I deal with on a daily basis, you guys and gals are quite the breath of fresh, satire-filled air. Thanks again :).

Hey @DuceMoosolini, we can get that paragraph removed if we let people know that the article is better off without it. MarioSuperstar77 (talk) 23:21, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
I have two conditions for trimming the opening paragraph. One, that someone write a funspace version of the article with the express purpose of making fun of the sheer number of conspiracy theories, and two, the stuff about him signing off on war crimes via drone strikes stays in this version of the article but is moved to "Human rights and civil liberties record" and incorporated into that section. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 23:26, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
The first one is already covered by fun:Barack HUSSEIN Obama, and I am fine with the second point. If Obama did something stupid, he deserves to be criticized for it. MarioSuperstar77 (talk) 23:32, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
Obama committing war crimes wasn’t “stupid”, he knew what he was doing. Christopher (talk) 23:44, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
