"Power is Paramount"[edit]

I removed the section because I felt it derives from pure speculation and is poorly written, having no sources whatsoever. Furthermore, most it has to do with Xi's predecessors Jiang and Hu. For instance, the paragraph made some serious but unsubstantiated claimed that Zhou Yongkang murdered his wife and is the "godfather" of Kim Jong-un, despite the fact that Wikileaks indicated the Chinese leadership has serious problems with the Kim family, and had no problems with an unified Korea under ROK.--Alpharius (talk) 15:16, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Should i revert the edit. Bubba41102Taste the shortness 15:48, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
Apherius if it is poorly written the perferred thing for you to do is make it better, if it is unsourced we perfer if you sourced it before reverting an entire section if a section needs to be removed talk about in the talk page (as you have done) Bubba41102Taste the shortness 15:55, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Categorical imperative?[edit]

Why is this article in the categories "Homophobia" and "Sexism"? I'm sure that Xi has endorsed or carried out polices in those categories, but they aren't mentioned in the article at all.Vivisectionist (talk) 02:34, 4 December 2019 (UTC)

Dengism[edit]

Mao was the ultimate real estate wizard.

Dengism is capitalist revisionism, I wouldn't take Wikipedia as a reliable source on this. β€” Oxyaena Harass 02:06, 5 December 2019 (UTC)

Tell me specific components why it's so then, and why it's not communism. --It's-a me, Lgm sigpic.png πŸŽ„LeftyGreenMario!πŸŽ„ 02:14, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
Dengism is and was a revisionist excuse to bring back capitalism to China, specifically it redefines socialism away from class struggle to "the development of productive forces," which is absurd revisionist bullshit. β€” Oxyaena Harass 02:16, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
Just look at how Jiang Zemin quietly added private property into the official Constitution of China, real communism precludes the existence of "private" property entirely. China has become an imperialist nightmare, far from what Mao envisioned China to be like and far closer (ironically enough) to Chiang's vision. Deng was actually sent to the camps during the Cultural Revolution for his revisionist tendencies, which should tell you something. β€” Oxyaena Harass 02:19, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
I've always considered China's current system to be "communism-in-name-only", so I'm not opposed to keeping Oxy's preferred revision. Pizza SLICE.gifChef Moosolini’s Ristorante ItalianoMake a Reservation 02:21, 5 December 2019 (UTC)

Same as Duce, though I'd also like to point out that China likely wouldn't have been much better off under Maoism, all things considered. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 02:26, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, China would've been a different kind of dumpster fire. Pizza SLICE.gifChef Moosolini’s Ristorante ItalianoMake a Reservation 02:27, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
Maoism is an improvement over traditional Marxism-Leninism in that it involves the masses on a large scale, and theoretically the mass line is supposed to serve as a bulwark against bureaucratic elements that have the potential of ruining the revolution as they did in the USSR and after Mao's death, hence it's more "democratic" than main line Stalinism, but we know how that works out in practice. Mao actually took a rightist trend because the Cultural Revolution nearly destroyed the social order of China, any socialist worth their salt would've allowed it to have continued. β€” Oxyaena Harass 02:36, 5 December 2019 (UTC)

Just want to say thank you for sitting down for a little for an explanation. Please try to do this more in the future when there's an edit conflict, okay? --It's-a me, Lgm sigpic.png πŸŽ„LeftyGreenMario!πŸŽ„ 02:39, 5 December 2019 (UTC)

That being said, I think it should be changed to 'Chinese Communist Party' (not CCP since it's the only occurrence on the page. That makes it as unambiguous as it can be made, I think. If someone wants to create a page describing what the CCP has stood for over the decades, then all the better. Mao was autocratic and not very detail oriented; the communist ideology was a convenient dressing. Bongolian (talk) 06:08, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

Mao was better than Deng that's for sure, and I`m not gonna shed any tears over the mass executions of landlords. β€” Oxyaena Harass 06:58, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
@Oxyaena My best friend is a landlord, You bernouts like to see landlords killed for some reason, It's fucking disgusting and juvenile. Jaydogg1994 (talk) 07:20, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
Apparently Oxyaena is not shedding any tears for the 30 million peasants starved during the Great Leap Forward either. Mao actually got hit with a wet noodle by the CCP for that fuckup.
I have had three landlords/landladies whom I considered humane: one got me a new bed for my furnished studio apartment and I never even asked for it (he was appalled by the condition of the old one when he saw it); the other two lived upstairs in split-level houses and so they were friendly neighbors. Bongolian (talk) 07:34, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
I`m not gonna shed any tears over the mass executions of landlords. Wow... AceModerator 07:37, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
@Jaydogg1994 Your best friend is an exploitative piece of shit then, no one should have to pay to not be homeless. @Bongolian I've already said I`m not a Maoist. Remember next time someone gets evicted onto the streets because they missed a rent payment because they were extorted for lacking insurance that you have no problem with that. β€” Oxyaena Harass 07:46, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
I have never been a landlord, and I was not defending all landlords. I know from personal experience that some of them are shits. The "masses" serving as a bulwark against bureaucrats in China in reality meant a struggle between reds (CCP members) vs. experts (scientists and western-trained medical doctors). Red vs. expert nowadays sounds strangely some other authoritarian. Bongolian (talk) 07:58, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
I`m not condoning the Cultural Revolution at all, and in regards to landlords remember this is a systemic issue, not an individual one. I`m just adding nuance into an incredibly unnuanced discussion, just look at my rip into that newbie on the Mao Zedong talk page, Mao was a complete dipshit, he also betrayed the revolution when he let the KMT crush the Shanghai Commune. β€” Oxyaena Harass 08:02, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
Oxy, you need to calm down. Stop saying things like I`m not gonna shed any tears over the mass executions of landlords because we all know if someone said I`m not gonna shed any tears over the mass executions of the homeless you'd ban them into infinity. This isn't abuse on my part, I have no problem with you editing at RW but can you tone down the hysterics? BTW I'm a landlord and have been for years. I'm fair and my tenants like me. AceModerator 08:25, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
And that's fine, Ace. There are good landlords out there, my landlord is one of them, but the problem with landlords isn't an individual one, it's a systemic one. β€” Oxyaena Harass 08:29, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
Just to clarify I`m memeing when I say "kill all landlords," that's a hamfisted solution that doesn't really solve the issues that private property brings about. Mao's move did make him popular with the peasantry tho. β€” Oxyaena Harass 08:30, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
The problem is your hysterical reactions. You banned someone the other day for mentioning someone was a high school drop-out because it demeaned people who dropped out of high-school but here you are wanting to kill landlords. AceModerator 08:31, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
You have to look at the power difference, someone who's dropped out of high school is a lot less powerful than a landlord is. I`m fine with punching up, punching down is what I have a problem with. β€” Oxyaena Harass 08:32, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

6 Is Not 7[edit]

Earlier in the article it mentions a leaked list of 7 dangerous Western values. But I only counted six...not sure if the entirety of mathematics has changed recently or I just caught a tiny error ;)

Also I've never edited this or any Wiki in fact before so if this is grossly informal/not how it be done, I apologize — Unsigned, by: 2601:42:c07f:f5e0:a009:ad8:d7c5:9ab / talk

Adding some categories[edit]

Should we add the category of "fascists" and "racists" to the article? He is an authoritarian despot and an ethno-nationalist/ethnicist after all. Rational Dude (talk) 16:42, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

Under Xi, the state has shored up its popular support by embracing nationalist reactionaries more. They (often successfully) attempt to marry the mainland Chinese communists and nationalists to create consent for the government. One of the biggest mouthpieces for the pro-CCP nationalist faction is the Global Times, which takes a basically jingoist/chauvinist line. Chillpilled (talk) 00:21, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
To be sure, the Chinese Communist Party is a clear ultra-nationalist party. China, unlike North Korea and Cuba, is not a resistance nationalist, but a clear imperialist. Nationalism in North Korea or Cuba is resistant and anti-colonial, but now Chinese nationalism is very imperialist, very colonialist, and very expansionist. The Chinese colonized Tibet and Xinjiang, and are now trying to colonize Taiwan and North Korea. Unlike communist parties in North Korea and Cuba, the CCP has embraced capitalism, and most Chinese politicians are not socialist in any way. The current China is similar to the German Empire before World War I or the Japanese Empire before World War II. The CCP is right wing. Umaru16 (talk) 00:40, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
I want to say "sexist" too, but I'm not quite sure. Historically, the CCP was feminist, and many radical feminists supported the CCP. Mao Zedong actually cared about women's rights, and he promoted the Iron GirlsWikipedia. It looks like Xi Jinping has made the CCP fall back on its feminist image. MayGodSaveUsAll (talk) 00:46, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
I don't know whether the CCP under Xi is sexist, but the feminist movement is something they see as a threat just by virtue of it being a grassroots movement dedicated to the expansion of personal rights. It could be compared to how they've treated the LGBT movement. Yet the state's stance on LGBT rights is somewhat ambivalent; they crush LGBT students' groups but there have been some advances in trans rights and visibility within the past decade or two. Chillpilled (talk) 00:54, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
The CCP actually have a fairly complicated relationship with grassroots movements and political dissent. Basically they operate off a basis of "how much of a threat is this to stability/maintenance of our rule?" So they can suppress queer student groups while allowing advances in trans affairs at the same time. Carthage (talk) 00:58, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
The Communist Party during the Mao Zedong period is the far left, the socialist, and the feminist. However, since Deng Xiaoping, the left-wing character of the Chinese Communist Party has continued to disappear, and the current Communist Party is not a socialist. Umaru16 (talk) 03:29, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
It's pretty difficult for them to get rid of their roots. There are certainly still dedicated communists in the party, and the party at-large still at least pretends to be altogether communist. Especially the older generations and rural communities are still going to have very Maoist leanings, or so it seems to me from what I've read. Chillpilled (talk) 04:08, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
Rational Dude, you consider B.R. Myers a fascist, arguing that a much more authoritarian/statistic/imperialistic/racistic/ultranationalistic Xi is not a fascist. Xi is not an orthodox Maoist, he is an anti-feminist, ultranationalist and runs state-led capitalism; more like fascism than communism. Xi is not like Mao and Stalin, he's Chinese version of Vladimir Putin. Fascists category should be maintained in the article. China in the 21st century is not a victim of imperialism, the "century of humiliation" is over and the PRC is the second Japanese empire. Look at the way they treat the same communist country, Vietnam, and North Korea. (The main reason North Korea does not give up its nuclear weapons is to escape China's control.)
See Xi Jinping’s China: Marching toward a Chinese fascism?; "After rising to power, Xi Jinping repressed the emerging civil society and reinforced the direction of the Party in all areas, eliminating autonomous spaces and installing the cult of personality. With the hegemony of the Party on society and government, the cult of the leader and nationalism, China cannot be compared to democratorships. As an ostensible dictatorship, its system increasingly recalls fascism." Umaru16 (talk) 07:57, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
