You were right about my behavior[edit]

I should not have been insulting without evidence. It will not happen again. Now for an actual criticism for the Apologia Educational Ministries, while their anatomy book does have actual science in it, the start of it is nothing but bible verses. On their website, they have samples of their books and I looked through their sample and it was awful. I remember when took an anatomy class before, there was science at the start. Anyways, I will not insult with out evidence. --Rationalzombie94 (talk) 16:52, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

I know your heart is in the right place, and that there is no doubt that these guys need to be called out for their bullshit. It's just that you were using a really big blunt tool to do a job best done with an eyeglass screwdriver. Hang them with their own words. Show the reader that the texts are crap, and the reader will easily figure out that the texts are crap. Take a look at our articles on the various big guns in the YEC movement and mimic those until your own style gets a little more finesse. PowderSmokeAndLeather (talk) 17:05, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Iduan[edit]

Why did you have deleted my article about Iduan?--217.85.162.197 (talk) 20:11, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

Because it was a disaster. It said nothing of value, gave no useful information, and was written very poorly. Heavy-handed satire that looks like it was written by a 12-year-old is of little use. Thanks for coming. PowderSmokeAndLeather (talk) 20:30, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

"web-site _GET["a"] Array ( [0] =>" slipped through - looks like the spammer's software messed up. I am an absolutely marvelous developer. Like so good I make Nx jelly, and he's old school good. The No True Scotsman[edit]

 ;) Wizymon (talk) 15:33, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Regarding the "No true Scotsman" fallacy, the person was defining "geologist" in a biased way.
Let me define "musician" in a biased way: "Somebody who plays a musical instrument." Let me define "mechanic" in a biased way: "Somone who won't try to fix my car by sacrificing a goat on the hood. Let me define "geologist" in a biased way: "Someone who studies how geological processes work by using accepted methods and who reads geological phenomena through the lens of empirically-based science." Which is the definition the article was using, if I read correctly. Father Vivian O'Blivion (talk) 15:39, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

The whole Manosphere article[edit]

I haven't put together an article of that length before so I'm sorry if I made some mistakes, as it stands it's mostly a collection of other articles with follow-up links. But yeah, I think it's good to have everything in the same place, and we have a proper article for 'Manosphere' now --Drowninginlimbo (talk) 22:05, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

It's an excellent start; way, way better than the stubs that most of us throw onto the wiki. Thanks for putting it together. I'll edit it for clarity and flow -- which is really all I do in mainspace -- but I'm sure folks who are more knowledgeable about the subject/willing to wade into the cesspool it describes will help bring it to the next level. Father Vivian O'Blivion (talk) 22:08, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
Thank you, a lot of it is what is written in the linked to articles, but I'm glad there isn't consensus against it. I guess the main focus after this is to tie it all together with an overriding narrative --Drowninginlimbo (talk) 22:11, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

Neckbeard deletion?[edit]

Why'd you delete that article? Neckbeards and Fedoras are a vile, subhuman, and most importantly IRRATIONAL cancer that must be shamed into submission. What, do *you* think wearing a fedora with blue jeans is appropriate fashion? — Unsigned, by: Look at all the smelly fedoras / talk / contribs

"Supposedly secular"[edit]

Hi, thanks for noticing my recent additions, and I hope I didn't offend you by saying "supposedly secular". The reason I say the secularity is in question is because if secular is supposed to mean the government is separate from things like race or religion, then one cannot be called racist or anti-whatever-religion for criticizing a secular state. If however, Israel, isn't a secular state (which it claims to be), then claims that criticisms of Israel's government have anti-semitic links would be more credible. Thanks. --Journeyman Studios (talk) 02:00, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

I figured that's where you might be going -- and, apologies, but, to be honest, a user unfamiliar to me making edits re: anti-semitism and/or denial thereof will get a little extra attention, because cranks. Father Vivian O'Blivion talkModerator 02:06, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

YOu didn't do anything! you're just one of hte few people I know who would appreciate the Quebecois term "les hommesplaining". I encountered it on a french feminist page, and am still trying to figure out exactly how you get a plural "the", with a singlur noun, that takes the french plural hommes and adds an english "ing". I know I've seen "Le babysitter", but I don't think I"ve ever seen "l'enfantsitter" or "le babe sitter", if that makes sense. One tin soldier (talk) 20:42, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
