Autopatrolled[edit]
Because of your edits to and time on the wiki, Autopatrolled has been added to your user rights. This lets you bypass most of the abuse filters, bypass the CAPTCHA, and edit more frequently. If you have questions, bleat ask away.
We hope you enjoy your newfound POWER — and these external tools:
- Google Scholar Button (Chrome, Firefox) searches your highlighted text in Google Scholar. Easily check academic citations!
- web.archive.org and archive.today, among other tools, can save permanent copies of webpages. Never lose a crank website or racist Tweet ever again!
Since I can't understand Slovak, I can't really verify the accuracy of your edits. But no-one else has complained and your hard work is filling the recent changes with exclamation points. So I'll hereby grant you this power of autopatrol. Enjoy! And keep up the good work. Knight CommanderIn ServiceTo HerGoatness 00:07, 31 October 2020 (UTC)
Could you create a Slovak language template, please?[edit]
Since you've started creating pages in Slovak, could you please create a template, like this one, to link to them? If you don't know how to create the template, I can put you in touch with someone who might do it for you. Spud (talk) 08:26, 31 October 2020 (UTC)
- I did - over here, even though i'm not sure how it is supposed to be actually used. I added the new articles to [[Category:Slovensky]]. kuko 11:04, 31 October 2020 (UTC)
- The flag image would be better if it rotated between flags where the Slovak language is an official language (as it does with the other language templates), not just Slovakia, i.e., Slovakia + Czech Republic + Vojvodina. @Spud, do you know if the other flag images rotate between places where a language is 'official' or some other criterion was used? Slovak is also a recognized minority language in two more countries. Bongolian (talk) 19:40, 31 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Bongolian It looks like the majority of the flags in Commons:Category:Animated language flags only use the flags of countries where the language has official status. But the one for Tamil includes the flags of Malaysia and South Africa where it is only a "recognized community language", So, yeah, an animated Slovak language flag could include the flags of Hungary and Poland as well as those of Slovakia, the Czech republic and Vojvodina (complicated by the fact that Vojvodina has two flags). Perhaps @NavigatorBR would be good enough to make an animated Slovak language flag gif on Wikimedia Commons. And we could use one for the Czech language too that could include the flags of the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. Spud (talk) 13:38, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- Well, sure, go for it, but it's not really on my priority list :). I wouldn't include Hungary/Romania - even though a small minority of Slovaks live there, the languages (Hungarian/Romanian) are very different. Polish/Croatian/... and other Slavic languages are closer but still quite different and I don't except speakers of those languages to automatically understand Slovak. kuko 13:50, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Bongolian and Spud Okay, we've got two new flag gifs. File:Lang-sk.gif (Slovak language) and File:Lang-cs.gif (Czech language). Went with the Vojvodina flag in use on the Czech language article. (My guidelines for what countries to include was being either an official or recognized minority language.)--NavigatorBR (Talk) - 18:05, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- Great, thanks! Bongolian (talk) 18:08, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- @NavigatorBR Good work and much appreciated. Except you seem to have forgotten to put the flag of the Czech Republic in Lang-cs.gif,
- And Kuko, all the flags in Lang-sk.gif are of countries where Slovak is an official language, not of places where people speak a language a bit like Slovak. Spud (talk) 00:07, 2 November 2020 (UTC).
- @Spud Well that was embarrassing, but I just fixed it.--NavigatorBR (Talk) - 01:07, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
