Doppelganger[edit]
I was just staggering around the local market (staggering because I couldn't go three feet without being offered wine tasting and had several shots of tequila at a bar on the way) and I saw this guy I recognized. About 6 feet tall, bespectacled, ruffled hair and wearing a nice suit albeit slightly disheveled. He was looking around furtively with a slight paranoia in his reddened eyes - looking half cut. It took me moment but I suddenly thought, "Fuck me, that's Nutty Roux." Even though I have only seen your face and knob, this guy was your fucking double. Aceace 05:17, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
- Awwww, how nice. What did his knob look like? 14:03, 15 October 2011 (UTC)

your definition of trolling[edit]
Is quite odd. I can't comment on football on Ace's talk page? Sure, I absentmindedly said soccer, but I don't think that would have upset him too much.
See, THIS is trolling |

Well, I imagine that stick up your ass has been there so long it's moved so far up your gastrointestinal tract it's affecting your cognitive functions. |
--User:Brxbrx/sig 06:03, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
I never said it was trolling. I used the collapse template specifically because that makes no incendiary judgment about the nature of someone's edit. There are lots of reasons one might consider collapsing a statement. Hey, let me ask you a question since you want to tell me about my cognitive function: do you think it would make me a more effective and better earning professional If I started asking an unemployed and socially inept dropout for advice? 15:57, 20 October 2011 (UTC)- Probably not, but then again, I clearly labeled that as trolling, as did you with my soccer comment to Ace. You certainly said it was trolling.--User:Brxbrx/sig 15:59, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
- Oh you're right. I called it boring trolling from a boring child. 16:02, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
- And I disagreed as to your interpretation of trolling.

the least of my problems[edit]

- Ace was not into serious street-fighting, but he was hell on wheels in a bar brawl. Any combination of a 250 lb Mexican and LSD-25 is a potentially terminal menace for anything it can reach - but when the alleged Mexican is in fact a profoundly angry Chicano lawyer with no fear at all of anything that walks on less than three legs and a de facto suicidal conviction that he will die at the age of 33 - just like Jesus Christ - you have a serious piece of work on your hands. -Hunter S. Hiding usernames[edit]
Since when did we decide to hide offensive usernames anyway? We used to rename them into something more witty back when this website was fun, but now you n00bs are turning it into a wikipedia clone with all your srs bsns and rules and stuff. You've ruined all the fun. -- Nx / talk 22:31, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
- I know you're sort of trying to be funny and sort of trying to make a point I don't understand. I can't tell if you're sort of trying to help. I'd like to hear if you really have a criticism of me hiding a username making light of Christopher Hitchens' recent death. 23:34, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Please do not censor my comments on other people's talk pages. Alternatively, if you do choose to censor my comments when you disagree with them, I won't stop you - but you'll have to quit your moral high horse when we discuss site policy. Blue (is useful) 05:27, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- There's no need to get personal, dear girl. I wasn't censoring you, to the extent slapping up the dfft template under the wrong circumstances is anything less than what you're accusing ... someone ... of. I was trying to save you the trouble of explaining yourself. When you slap up a dfft template undented at the end of a section in which Human is expressing what I view as righteous indignation, you leave the reader wondering who exactly you're calling a troll. Care to comment? 05:34, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

- Cool, Blue. Thanks for sharing your opinion that you feel pity for a man being pissed about getting the death of his friend shoved in his face. And that you think he's a troll for expressing it. Or that I guess the more charitable explanation is he was editing drunk? It's nice to know you're not above putting your personal hatred for a person above your own good judgment. You're a standup gal. This site's in great hands with you aspiring to the leadership role you wish to hold. 05:55, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- Read my comment, please. I said if he's being honest then he isn't trolling. And since when is it wrong to feel sorry for someone who is "getting the death of his friend shoved in his face?" I am truly sorry that discussion about McWiki happened. I do feel sorry for Human. I don't hate him. Blue (is useful) 06:23, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- Wow. Dissembling is rarely presented this openly. Thanks Blue. 01:55, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- Do you have anything useful to say? Because this is a common pattern in our interactions: we argue, and you openly question my motives, though I've done nothing of the sort to you. It's possible I've equivocated a couple times, but the better move might have been to call me out on my fallacies, rather than escalate an emotionally charged situation.
- It's also true that I have questioned Human's motives, both here and in the past. That is a separate issue, and I have treated it as such: I have recused myself from any moderator action involving him. It doesn't help that he has openly admitted to trolling RationalWiki before - but again, that is a separate matter.
- I have always thought that you have something worthwhile to listen to. You won't believe this, but I voted for you in the first mod election, even though I knew your preferences to be very different from my own. I will continue to listen if and only if you stop questioning my motives as an argumentative strategy. I will try to be more civil to you and sensitive to the fact that we have vastly different views on certain individuals. Blue (is useful) 04:37, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- You have crummy judgment for trying to make this about me after acting like such an asshole. I'll respond by email. There's no prudent way to address this sanctimonious horseshit in public. 05:58, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

- Hey there squirt. Call it a lecture if you want; I could take the same shot at you about needing it after either learning nothing in this discussion or being resistant to admitting it. The short version is you questioning Huw's motives is why you're here; it's not a separate issue. If you don't understand why I see red after you come over here to immediately get personal with me and call Huw a liar or a drunk when I did nothing more than remove your obnoxiously placed template, I'll be a little irritated at you wasting more of my time explaining it. If, under the circumstances, you feel comfortable stepping outside the realm of wiki-politics and questioning Huw's personal motives after he openly stated he's mourning Susan's death, you ought to be open to having your own questioned. It's not an "argumentative strategy." It's what people legitimately do when you act like your parents somehow neglected to teach you about treating a person with kid gloves on the subject of the death of someone he admired. 17:04, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

- Let's get this straight. I posted a comment, consisting of a template, and signed it. You perceived it to be "obnoxious" and thought it could hurt Human's feelings, so you deleted it. Then, yesterday, you blocked me for three months for another comment I made that you found somehow offensive. Who's the authoritarian cunt here again? Blue (pester) 20:06, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- If no one else will nitpick with the rules, you just have to do it yourself. To wit: Users are not to remove posts from other people's talk-pages unless they are (1) "obviously vile," and (2) made for the purposes of trolling. Any questions about trolling aside, it would be very amusing to see an attempt at arguing that the DFTT template is vile at all, let alone "obviously" so; for giggle-value it would be right up there with Clinton's quibbling over the meaning of the word "is." So, to update the list of people with questionable motives:
- Nx (authoritarian cunt?)

- UHM (personal vendetta against Nutty)
- Blue (dislike of Human)
Did I miss somebody? --★uːʤɱ federalist 18:40, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- Blue, I love love love that you just called me an authoritarian cunt for blocking you once and removing a template. This conversation keeps getting better! I should have penned you a lecture instead. I'm sorry.
- UHM, you popping by like this to express your contempt for me and others isn't the same as vendetta unless there's something I don't know; it just shows you've got an extravagant view of yourself and are constitutionally incapable of resisting the urge to pile onto conflict. But nice try with the framing, especially with sticking yourself in there. Brxbrx is the only one with truly awful motives and I don't need to lift a finger to make a record of that. Blue made a mistake that she refuses to admit by carrying on like this, but all of us do. I made a mistake swearing at Maratrean whenever that was this summer. You made a mistake finding yourself here adding nothing and wasting both of our time with your antagonistic list, but thanks for stopping by I guess. *shrug* Everyone else meh. Maratrean and Nx have nothing to do with me. Again, nice try. 21:11, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
- It's funny. Nothing in that post was in any way judging or expressing contempt for you. It's purely a list of what I see you throwing in other peoples faces. As you seem to question why, I put myself on there, here comes the explanation: Do you remember those Awards on a website known as Rationalwikiwiki, you accused me there off putting you on a list just because I wouldn't like you. And actually you just did it again: "you popping by like this to express your contempt for me" — again, no contempt expressed. Only a list to make fun of what you are doing.
- Now, I'm sure you will be questioning the honesty/<some other word you throw in here> of this, but I do hold a very low view of myself and I do keep a lot of what I would like to say in — often because I think if would want to induce pain on myself it would be much easier for me to start cutting myself rather than posting. --★uːʤɱ federalist 22:36, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

A few users, or even RW itself (it wasn't officially involved in this in any manner), publishing those emails doesn't speak to whether parties who were not involved can or ought to object to their own emails with MC being disseminated without being hypocrites. On the other hand, perhaps they didn't object vehemently enough or publicly state their intention not to read the emails? That's a difficult position to evaluate. This parable actually happened: Back when I was a young black man on the South Side of Chicago, I remember a sneaky foreigner talking commie nonsense about some shit like organizing us into a militia to storm City Hall, burn down white people's houses, rape their women, eat their children, and elect another Harold Washington. That young half white devil was Barrack Hussein Obama. He literally jumped off that boat they got bringing Indonesian foreigners over here with ginned up birth certificates and swam straight to the shores of Lake Michigan to start popping off about economic and political self-determination while his back was still dripping wet. I think he even used words like subaltern and talked other political philosophy bullshit. And oh hell no to just standing by watching a monster like that savagely and viciously serve your children breakfast before school and then speak with people in the community about how to be heard in city politics. It's a damn shame that after finally getting away from the miasma that follows a creep like that around after he destroyed the South Side that I got roped in by some svengalis and found myself at a party with Saul Alinksy or Bernadrine Dorhn (I can't remember which - I was too high, hence palling around with white commie terrorists). They told me the only way to truly succeed was to have sensible conservative values and be a good Christian and that the only place around here to do that was U of C where they don't suck the public teet no sir. It wasn't 30 seconds after I got there I started hearing "Professor Obama" "Professor Obama". Wah wah wah. Everyone knows he was just an instructor or something menial like that. Maybe they had him sweeping up between classes. Everyone knows teaching law at a top 5 school is what high school kids do when they can't find better summer jobs. Just look the intellectual lightweights they hire: Richard Posner, Frank Easterbrook, Hussein Obama, and that kid who got hit in the head too much. So yeah, whatever. I sat in on some of his lectures but I never listened to a word he said. 05:54, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

True story about Pell Grants[edit]
This is a true story about Pell Grants. A 54 year old man applied and received a $5500 Pell Grant to attend a local college. He never once attended classes. He bought a Chrysler van for $2500, spent $2000 at the casino, and $1000 on dope. Driving home from the casino high on dope, he was rear-ended. The other drivers insurance company totaled the vehicle, paid him $2500, and sold it back to him for salvage at $250 (it was very much drivable). He faked injury, immediately contacted an attorney and began chiropractic treatment for 15 minutes a session, several time a week. He was referred to this doctor who began prescribing narcotics. The prescription cost $250 per month, of which he kept enough for himself and sold the rest on the street at $10 a pill, netting $1000 per month. This continued for more than a year until the doctor lost his license, at which time he instructed his attorney to settle the lawsuit. The lawsuit netted him $12,000. So he parlayed the fraudulently obtained Pell Grant into a vehicle valued at $2500, a $2250 cash settlement; $1000 a month in illegal income from prescription narcotics trafficking; free, legal narcotics for over a year from a bogus civil claim, and a $12,000 settlement. Seeing he didn't have spend all his money on drugs, all of it, that is, all of it, went to the casino. Only in modern America are such things possible. nobsModerated 05:56, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

- Food stamp allotments are roughly $200 per month in this part of the country; they sell for 50 cents on the dollar, or $100 cash on the street. In most grocery stores you can bump into someone in the isles who will go through the checkout line with you, pay for your items with their food stamp card, and you settle up outside the door at half price in cash. Or you can walk into a local Burger King franchise and sell the whole thing for $100 cash; leave the card overnight, give the manager your pin number, return 24 hours later to retrieve your card and pick up $100 cash. Most mom n' pop restaurants or small franchise owners will buy $200, $400, or $600 in EBT (food stamps) per day. nobsModerated 06:19, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
- {{citation needed}} --PsyGremlinParlez! 06:23, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
- Will this cite work? Some EBT sellers use Facebook. "In interviews and the Facebook posts themselves, the scammers say the deals work like this: The buyers typically pay 50 cents on the dollar for the benefits on [EBT} cards, either taking the card outright or borrowing it along with the seller's private PIN number."
- or this one: "some grocery stores allegedly had been paying EBT cardholders 50 cents on the dollar for the food-only benefits, only to then redeem the cards for full value from the government."
- or here: "According to DSHS (Washington State Department of Social and Health Services), the going rate to sell an EBT card on the street is 50 cents on the dollar. If someone has $100 in food stamps, that person could sell the card for $50 cold, hard cash on the streets." nobsModerated 06:35, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
