-- Elassint Hi! ^_^ 18:47, 26 April 2008 (EDT)
- Welcome, Proxima Centauri! Yet another user named after a star! :D Spica the HiverIf you tolerate this, then your children will be next... 20:05, 26 April 2008 (EDT)
- Thanks for the comment on my talkpage, Proxima! :D I don't know if you're into it, but here's the basic stats for the actual star, PC:
- Spectral Type: M5 V (red, main sequence dwarf star);
- Age: approx 4.85 billion years (i.e. middle aged);
- Temperature: 3,040 deg K (temperature at star's surface);
- Mass: 0.122 sol (where sol = 1);
- Radius: 0.145 sol (where sol = 1);
- Luminosity: 0.000138 sol (where sol = 1)
- Astronomers think that Proxima may be the third component of the Alpha Centauri system, as it appears to orbit Alpha A and B at about 0.21 light years (about 15,000 AU) and appears to go round AC A and B in about 500,000 years. PC is also a flare star, intermittently throwing off huge amounts of radiation at random times - not very hospitable! Original sin.[edit]
If you don't mind, I'm going to move Fun article on Orignal Sin to Fun:Orignal sin to keep with the others. --*Gen. S.T. Shrink* Get to the bunker 13:58, 26 June 2008 (EDT)
But I mispelled it the first time. sorry 1000000 times. --*Gen. S.T. Shrink* Get to the bunker 14:03, 26 June 2008 (EDT)
Ok. The first thing I did was move your article to Fun:Orignal sin, mispelling it. Then I move Fun Orignal sin to Fun:Orginal sin, doing it again. Then I finally moved that to Fun:Original sin, fixing that, then attempted to correct it, I typed in Fun article on Orignal sin, looking for your article, mispelling it, then redirected that non-existant page to Fun:Original sin. So, in summation, I got pwned by the spelling of the word original and it's a huge tangle of non-existant crap. I'm sorry. I'll go hide in a hole for a week now. --*Gen. S.T. - I don't believe it's being hit because it' Scientology. What are we going to do - have it force us to protect our articles one by one?
- It's really easy to revert - it takes like 6 seconds?
- On principle we only protect articles under extreme circumstances. I don't think this is extreme.
- We usually discuss protection before applying it - it's a win for them.
- I would say that whoever is doing this wants us to protect it.
- So I'm going to unprotect it. If you can get consensus for protection fine, but until then let's leave it.--Bobbing up 09:00, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
- I dunno Bob, As I understand it, protection only means that one has to sign in before editing. This means its highly unlikely that any meaningful edits are being stopped. Why not protect it and see if your hypothesis is correct (that it will move onto other articles).--Damo2353 09:46, 6 July 2008 (EDT)
- I am prepared to be persuaded. But this really is very, very minor stuff, I'm not convinced that protection is necessary. Furthermore, over recent days some IP's have actually made some good edits. But my voice is no louder than those members of RW active at the moment. If the article is protected again, I won't de-protect again. I have my doubts the protection will stand however. --Bobbing up 09:57, 6 July 2008 (EDT)

Checkuser[edit]
Proxy, no-one has checkuser privileges on RationalWiki. tmtoulouse removed it for ideological reasons. However, you're right about the FallDown sock as they are repeating the same edits. Although I originaly subscribed to the view that we should block these idiots fo a long time I have accepted that so long as they are angy or whatever they will find a way to circumvent our bans inone way or another so we just accept it and revert. It's much easier for us to rollback than for them to sock up and make the edit. Also with enough sysops here they are playing a loser's game and hopefully will get bored sooner rather than later. ГенгисOur ignorance is God; what we know is science. 06:14, 7 December 2008 (EST)
- BTW here's a tip for reverting vandalism. Get the vandal's contribution list up but instead of just clicking rollback, right-click on it and select open in new window or tab (depending on your browser) that way you can just go quickly through the list rather than having to keep returning to the contributions page. Proxies[edit]
Most open proxies have already been blocked by CP so it leaves you the option of a commercial proxy or something like Tor which our paedophile apologist Fall down makes use of. I haven't used Tor myself so can't really comment on how easy it is to set up, try reading the documentation pages or contact User:Doggedpersistence, he's a well known sock wearer. - Actually, PC, you should lighten up on the paranoia over, and responses to, "offenders". Rollback works just fine, and there are plenty of us here to repair the occasional vandalism. Why did you block someone for adding something that was actually pretty funny and took 1.2 seconds to fix? And then reblock them for a friggin' year? ħuman 15:19, 10 December 2008 (EST)

WazzaHello? Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me... 04:26, 13 December 2008 (EST)
- Actually Proxima, while I don't necessarily share your profound interest in CP, I thought you did very well in blocking the vandals. Indeed, your effectiveness is probably why you, and your user-page, have become prime targets of their ire. On the other hand, you might consider whether year-long blocks are really appropriate - though I can understand why you might make them in the heat of the moment. Also remember that what trolls want is to make themselves the centre of attention, so the more you react to them and give them cause to pretend they have been badly treated the happier they are. But in general I think you have acted very well and certainly with the best interests of the site at heart.--Bobbing up 07:57, 13 December 2008 (EST)
Thanks. I didn't have this profound interest in CP when I arrived here. That developed as I saw what the other were involved with. They've rangeblocked the whole range of IP adresses that I use and I'm showing them that they can't stop me. There are big developments at CP at the moment. Later I'll probably return to other things. Proxima Centauri 08:02, 13 December 2008 (EST)
Discrepancy[edit]
There seems to be a discrepancy in Rose Pedals' logs - the user creation log states that RP was created at 18:08, 10/12/08, yet Rationalwiki:Vandal states that they were moved to vandal at 13:29:02, 10/12/08. Why? (and before you ask, the other Rose Pedals was created at 19:26, 10/12/08) Harmonic cubic Phantom!
- I think that you'd need to take that up with Trent - if, that is, you feel it's sufficiently important.--Bobbing up 08:39, 13 December 2008 (EST)
I have tried to send you a very important email but yours is not enabled[edit]

???[edit]
Could you explain your comment on my talk page? "You've blocked at Uncyclopedia" would imply that I have blocked someone, despite the fact that I have neither sysopship nor an account. The link is unhelpful to deciphering the comment, as it just says what to do if blocked. Phantom Hoover 12:56, 27 December 2008 (EST)
- oh dont worry, its just another vapid, poorly worded comment from pc. what, you were expecting something meaningful from her?--Wilhelm Shatner 16:17, 27 December 2008 (EST)
It's a joke. Human explained it in his tactful way on your userpage. Proxima Centauri 17:02, 27 December 2008 (EST)
"Tokio Rose"[edit]
Why do we need all those? Shouldn't it be a user's own decision whether or not they want misspelled versions of their name set up as redirects? wassaiLOId~ 13:29, 29 December 2008 (EST)
- I did it because I felt many RationalWikianswhant to contact TokyoRose and can't remember exactly what her username is. Certainly RationalWikians are trying to talk to her here. She's being bullied at Conservapedia and I wanted to make it as easy as possible for RationalWikians to reach her. Proxima Centauri 13:49, 29 December 2008 (EST)
- So why not just leave a link to her user page at the talk WIGO section? ħuman 14:00, 29 December 2008 (EST)
- That could be a good idea as well. Not everybody reads wigo. The links do no harm. Why not just leave them for the moment till Jessica's crisis at Conservcapedia is over. Proxima Centauri 14:05, 29 December 2008 (EST)
- No, not everyone reads WIGO CP. However, anyone concerned with her current situation at CP is quite likely to be a reader. Sure, they do no harm, I guess. I hope. Why didn't you "create" them as users? Also, it would have been nice to ask her first. ħuman 14:14, 29 December 2008 (EST)
- I'd say no to registering them as users. That would be even more bewildering. wassaiLOId~ 14:26, 29 December 2008 (EST)
- I'll ask now. TokyoRose doesn't want to stir up trouble by writing too much here where Conservapedians can see it. She may still read what we write. I just want to make it easy for RationalWikians to write to her and I don't want to force her to answer a question. Proxima Centauri 14:18, 29 December 2008 (EST)
