“”Some folks' need killing!

—Robinson, at a church[1] |
“”There’s no reason anybody anywhere in America should be telling any child about transgenderism, homosexuality, any of that filth. And yes I called it filth. And if you don’t like that I called it filth, come see me and I’ll explain it to you.

—Robinson, unashamed[2] |
“”There were always rumors circulating, some of them demonstrably false and some of them harder to assess. "We were like, Jesus, I hope that’s not true."

—a person associated with Robinson's 2024 campaign[3] |
Mark Keith Robinson (1968–) is the current lieutenant governor of North Carolina and the Republican failed nominee for the 2024 North Carolina gubernatorial election. He's also a racist, sexist, holocaust denier, among other wingnuttery. Robinson is a deeply flawed candidate; his flaws were well known before he ran for governor. North Carolina Republican state treasurer Dale Folwell said that the GOP leadership and consultants who selected him "did know, should have known or, didn’t want to know" about them.[3]
Thankfully, he was defeated by Josh Stein in the election.[4]
Abortion[edit]
Despite being against abortion calling it "murder" and "genocide" as long ago as 2018, back in the 1980s, he paid for his then-girlfriend and future-wife to get an abortion.[5]
Antisemitism[edit]
Robinson is also a long history of antisemitism, including Holocaust denialism.[6] He had referred to himself as a "Black Nazi".
He said that the movie Black Panther was "created by an agnostic Jew and put to film by (a) satanic marxist"[note 1] and "was only created to pull the shekels out of your Schvartze[note 2] pockets".[7]
Racism[edit]
When running for lieutenant governor, Robinson claimed that systemic racism isn’t real, stating, "The system of government that we have in this nation is not systemically racist. In fact, it is not racist at all."[8]
Gun rights[edit]
Robinson is a staunch defenders of gun rights. In the aftermath of the Parkland shooting, a Greensboro city council was held where the subject was whether or not to cancel a gun show, Robinson spoke at this event in defence of gun rights. His speech went viral among conservatives. This was his debut in the public eye.[9]
"Some folks' need killing!"[edit]
At a church in White Lake, North Carolina, Robinson insisted that "some folks' need killing". He added that "it’s a matter of necessity [...] when you have wicked people doing wicked things, torturing and murdering and raping. It’s time to call out, uh, those guys in green and go have them handled."
Attempts to depict this concerning speech more mildly may choose to focus on the mentions of murder and rape.
Unfortunately Mark's other statements in the speech, such as "we now find ourselves struggling with people who have evil intent. You know, there’s a time when we used to meet evil on the battlefield, and guess what we did to it? We killed it!" and "we need to start handling our business again. [...] Don’t you feel it slipping away? [...] the tenets of socialism and communism start coming into clearer focus [...] They cancel you. They dox you. They kick you off social media. [...] Folks, it’s happening." make this a very hard sell. The people who "need killing" are not depicted explicitly and the necessity of violence is instead treated as a truism. [1]
Islamophobia[edit]
Robinson believes in the myth that immigrants are trying to replace white people by saying that Muslims “are not ‘immigrants,’ they are INVADERS”.[7]
Homophobia and transphobia[edit]
On February 3 2024, Robinson threatened trans women with arrest over using bathrooms that aligned with their gender identity, suggesting they "find a corner outside somewhere".[10]
Despite his hatred for LGBTQIA+,[2] in a CNN exposé, people said he has enjoyed lesbian[11] as well as transgender porn, calling himself a "perv" afterwards.[12] A report from Politico also linked Robinson's e-mail address to an account on the infamous cheating site Ashley Madison.[13]
CNN Leak[edit]
During his 2024 run for the North Carolina Gubanational election, CNN leaked some profiles in numerous porn forums belonging to Robinson.[12] In these profiles he said some batshit things, most infamously calling himself a “black Nazi”, among other things, on a message board for pornography (primarily one called "Nude Africa"), of all places.
How these profiles came to be discovered was by going through the usernames and email addresses that he went through for his other public profiles, such as Twitter ('minisoldr', for example). It didn’t help him that he had included his full name, and other information he laid out that can’t be just coughed up to coincidences.
He and his campaign have since denied this, though it’s hard to believe him when the evidence follows a pattern of behavior and hasn’t done much to prove the evidence wrong, nor claim to be working to do so.
In the CNN exposé, he claimed that when he was 14, he peeped into a women’s room two times, something that he later fantasized about. So, one could scoff at his accusation of trans women being creepy men who want to sneak in the women’s bathrooms as self-projection.
Clearly unashamed of himself, Robinson has said a lot of bigoted comments on the various porn forums that he frequented. Here are some of them:
- He claimed that slavery wasn’t that bad of a thing, wishing for its return, claiming some people deserve to be slaves and that he’d buy some himself.
- Called himself a black Nazi.
- He preferred Hitler over Obama.
- Used a ton of slurs directed at African Americans, Jews, Muslims and others.
- He made his hatred of Martin Luther King very apparent, calling him slurs and other insults, in stark contrast to how Donald Trump had compared Robinson to King on multiple occasions.[14]
- When a message board user accused him of being part of the KKK for Robinson’s comments on MLK, Robinson used another slur against King (very mature indeed).
Soon after the CNN story went public, Robinson's election chances vanished overnight, as his GOP colleagues began to distance themselves from him while even his own campaign staffers quit.[15]
Notes[edit]
- ↑ The comic book character Black Panther, upon which the movie was derived, was created in 1966 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, both of whom were Jewish. The film was directed by African American Ryan Coogler, a recipient of four NAACP Image Awards. Other allegations by Robinson are slurs.
- ↑ Schvartze is a Yiddish slur for a Black person.
