Yes, I am. Techpriest (I am Alpharius! / Pencil.png / Tux icon.png / Shield.png) 14:20, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

Congratulations[edit]

Goat icon.png Congratulations on your demotion to RationalWiki moderator on 2 December 2020. Thank you for your service to the wiki, and good luck the goat herding voyage on which you have embarked.

Congrats on your victory, fellow new mod! I expect you to make a most effective moderator, given the expertise you showed in the Mob v. Techs Coop case. --Goatspeed. Happy Holidays!πŸŽ„CircularREmail2.gifasoningπŸŽ„See what I'm planning 05:38, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
The mob has chosen wisely. Congratulations. Spud (talk) 05:45, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
Aww thanks guys! I promise to do a terrible awful mediocre try to do a decent job as a mod. Feel freee to yell at me in ATIM for mistakes tho! Techpriest (I am Alpharius! / Pencil.png / Tux icon.png / Shield.png) 07:43, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
Quick question, who can I complain to upgrade RW to the latest version of media wiki? A mod, a tech, or a foundation member? β€” π—¦π—Ύπ—Ώπ˜-𝟭 talk stalk 03:49, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
@Sqrt-1 Foundation members and users with webserver access. The former can instruct the latter to upgrade the tooling and appoint people for the latter. The users with webserver access can do the upgrade itself. Techpriest (I am Alpharius! / Pencil.png / Tux icon.png / Shield.png) 08:06, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

Riot article[edit]

Sorry I reverted you, but you nuked the list of uncited participant names just as I was adding another citation for one of the participants that you nuked. Please be aware that some of us are heavily scrutinizing this list and making sure all the names are properly cited. Thanks. β€”cosmikdebris talk stalk 22:14, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

Feel free to use the diff as reference as to where the names should go. Citations should be considered a requirement on the initial edit, not post-facto imho. Techpriest (I am Alpharius! / Pencil.png / Tux icon.png / Shield.png) 22:15, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
I will delete names without references as I find them. However some of the uncited people clearly were at the event, e.g. Baked Alaska and Nick Fuentes, and whoever added them was too lazy to include a proper citation. It's much easier to start with a suspect list than create one out of thin air. β€”cosmikdebris talk stalk 22:18, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
Fair, I'll give you some time to correct some of the references. Just don't forget to snipe the ones that aren't referenced. Techpriest (I am Alpharius! / Pencil.png / Tux icon.png / Shield.png) 22:19, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

Oxy is right to an extent.[edit]

I told y'all to take it to the coop. Take it there. Techpriest (I am Alpharius! / Pencil.png / Tux icon.png / Shield.png) 15:53, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

Dutch childcare scandal[edit]

Your opinion, as a dutch? Kevlarstar and his dog (Woof!) 13:08, 25 January 2021 (UTC)

I find it nothing short of disgusting and a bureaucratic error of insane proportions. Personally I'm the most disappointed in the Labor Party, although I don't vote Labor. With VVD you can like, half expect them to not really give a huge shit about this stuff (they're the regular right wing party, they explicitly are more for the middle class who can fund their own stuff so like, it's expected), same with CDA (light christian party). Labor is like, at least supposed to be for the people affected, so this happening feels rather... painful-ish? As for the recent resignation of government, I kinda am of the mindset of "what's the point". Like, I guess it had to happen? But we'd be having 2nd chamber elections in march anyway which makes the resignation of the government kinda pointless. Asscher (Labor leader) quitting I think is a good step forward, same for Wiebes (VVD minister of finances). Those two just have received too much taint about this whole affair. Rutte resigning would be... interesting but I ultimately think that would be counter-productive with the COVID pandemic and as a general rule Rutte is fairly competent so I think that would likely be less than useful. Personally, this will be my first election I get to vote in, and I can at least assure you that I won't be voting VVD or CDA. Techpriest (I am Alpharius! / Pencil.png / Tux icon.png / Shield.png) 13:29, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
So PvdA or Groenlinks? And look at the polls, VVD and PVV are still high even after the scandal. Kevlarstar and his dog (Woof!) 13:37, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
I prefer D66. PvdA is Labor. PVV wasn't involved, but sucks regardless. VVD is interesting because most of their voting base doesn't seem to give that much of a shit about it? Which is I guess concerning in and of itself, but OTOH, VVD has also been working to get this entire incident uncovered so it's like... difficult to really grasp whether or not this would hurt them, given most of their voters seem to still prefer them. PvdA and CDA risk much more in popularity because they don't have the guaranteed block that VVD basically has. How do you feel about being outshined by the sun and human light pollution (eventually)[edit]

Greater Netherlands (Groot-Nederland)[edit]

Do you support it? (If the Netherlands and dutch/flemish part of belgium become one country.) Kevlarstar and his dog (Woof!) 07:43, 4 February 2021 (UTC)

Yes for meme reasons (ANNEX BELGIUM). In practice, I don't really care either way. I've only ever seen it used as a joke by friends. Techpriest (I am Alpharius! / Pencil.png / Tux icon.png / Shield.png) 09:01, 4 February 2021 (UTC)

Alpharius[edit]

Who's Alpharius? Kevlarstar and his dog (Woof!) 09:26, 9 February 2021 (UTC)

He's the primarch of the Alpha Legion of Warhammer 40k. "I am Alpharius" comes from the Alpha Legion's only way of identifying themselves to other combatants. The reason for the identification being that Alpharius is slightly smaller than most primarchs, allowing him to blend in with his own legion, which allows every Alpha Legion to lay claim to being Alpharius to sow confusion. Advice regarding incel[edit]

Hey mate, just thought I’d ask a veteran a bunch of q’s before implementing them. Regarding the talk:incel drama, I want to move past all the personal insults and bullshit and push for a productive conversation. What i’d like to do is archive the existing talk page, and start fresh by proposing an upcoming vote on a number of items, idea being those items would dictate the structure by which we make changes to the topic(s).

Questions: can I just archive all the existing stuff?

Anything I should know when creating a vote? Planning on formatting it similar to the Coop, though if there is another template or example you would recommend please let me know.

Unstructured poll will be shortly posted to my sandbox if you want to comment on that.

Ps: accidentally posted this to your user page. Blaming mobile again ahahaKauri0.o (talk) 03:34, 12 February 2021 (UTC)

oh you bet it's archived, screenshotted, and shared on twitter, and with hundreds of men and women on Facebook and external forums suffering from ED, vaginismus, and wide range of conditions that makes it so the cannot have sexual intercourse. Not saying this to shame or make anyone feel bad, it's just good involuntary celibates know about developments in their portrayal on large websites https://archive.is/z2Vs1
haha and yea sorry for the drama lulz is it ok now that the author LANBd from articles if I just delete all the relevant talk, start fresh with my own article and have everyone vote on new additions to a page about a topic that isn't topical anymore, that everyone liked for years as if they didn't, which in the end just capitulates to incels.co and random sensationalist journalistsNeiltyson1fan (talk) 04:06, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
just want to make sure a mod is on my side so that I can do whatever I want k thx Neiltyson1fan (talk) 04:12, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
I’m not here to fight, but I would request you neither delete the talk nor start any new related articles. Kauri0.o (talk) 04:27, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
@LeftyGreenMario thought you might also have some advice too if you’d be so kind! Kauri0.o (talk) 05:02, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
@GrammarCommie don’t stress. Help with solution to the shitstorm I started :’D Kauri0.o (talk) 05:20, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
Don't worry mistakes happen wrt the userpage thing. As for existing stuff, the entire page history is archived. I've just enabled Inferno to start going over the Incels page, so mot of the older discussions should be archived automatically. Please don't try to manually archive, it makes the bot unhappy. All but the 5 most recent topics will be moved to an archive page on it's own. Anything you should know about a vote: Eh, it's all pretty freeform. Make a yay/nay/goat section, get some people to talk about it at least (if you want attention to be brought put it in the bar) and once it has been around for a bit (really it can be anywhere from days to 9-12 hours) you can close the vote and act accordingly.
Also Neil could you really just stop being such a drama queen jesus christ. It's a fucking wikipage. All diffs are kept and maintained and if you *really* want to you can bring in an uncategorized copy to your own user subpage like you did with MMT. Techpriest (I am Alpharius! / Pencil.png / Tux icon.png / Shield.png) 10:14, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
Guess if you really don't like the conversation, you can collapse it as an alternative to archiving it. --It's-a me, Lgm sigpic.png πŸŽ„LeftyGreenMario!πŸŽ„ 10:31, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
Thankyou! I'll make it a freeform vote and look at collapsing the irrelevant shit. Kauri0.o (talk) 10:34, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
As an aside - I noticed Template:Talkpage. Would you say that template is a good option for user talk pages, and bots should generally be used for articles? Kauri0.o (talk) 10:40, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
Template talkpage is what displays the little archive header on a talkpage with the numbers and is inserted to show the other talk archives on archived pages. User talkpages are really up to your own disgression. I use Inferno for that myself, many others do as well. Other editors (ie. Oxy jumps to mind) tend to prefer manual archival every once in a while. The only thing you should be aware of with your talkpage is that it's size will directly affect how long it takes to save the page so it -is- in your best interest to keep your talkpage from becoming a 150kb beast. Inferno takes a lot of the difficulty out of managing that. Techpriest (I am Alpharius! / Pencil.png / Tux icon.png / Shield.png) 10:44, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
